*I need to update this review to provide some perspective. I recently purchased the Audeze Mobius to see what all the fuss was about, and compare to the Cloud Mix. Well, it was very close, but where I preferred the Cloud Mix is a punchier bass and a more fun sound in general. Think 'Michael Bay movie' which is probably the best way to describe the Cloud Mix audio. It's incredible that these 40mm drivers can produce such volume and go toe-to-toe with the 100mm drivers found inside the Mobius. The main difference being the Audeze offer 3D surround tech, which was insufficient to dissuade me from sticking to the Cloud Mix. It helps they are half the price of course, but they truly are astounding when I consider other premium headsets I have used.Being a hybrid headset you might assume 'jack of all trades, master of none'. You would be very mistaken to assume that, the audio performance in particular is stellar, and perfectly suited for gaming, movies and music. There is no obvious weakness.I just need to gush about the Hyper X Cloud Mix because it feels like a long time coming: why didn't I try Hyper X sooner? Onto the specifics, comfort and build is excellent across the board. Extremely lightweight (265g with mic attached) and I can't say I agree with the criticisms over clamping force being excessive. With plush ear cushions, I can't see how even larger heads would have any issues. Now onto the audio, which is where this headset truly shines. Whether via Bluetooth - which is almost indistinguishable from being hard wired - or connected to your controller the audio is outstanding. The bass performance just puts a smile on your face, it's a really fun sound, with no distortion or background hiss (take note Steelseries!). The audio is very robust and rock solid. And man does it get loud, even via Bluetooth, though PS4 is the exception. This is an issue with all headsets on PS4 and remains an annoyance. On Xbox, fill your boots with the highest volumes and added immersion that entails. Hyper X have 'hyped up' (sorry) the dual chamber feature which separates the lows and highs. It's certainly no gimmick, there is notably far more separation than I'm used to, with no muddy sounds caused by conflicting audio.I use the Bluetooth through my phone and TV - so I can still play video games and watch movies wirelessly. As I said, there is no notable degradation in sound. I use wired when I want to use Dolby Atmos on Xbox, or if I need to chat. But it functions very well as a wireless headset for the most part. I could go on and on about how great this headset is, but I genuinely must get back to using it. If you haven't tried Hyper X before, prepare to be surprised. If you have, chances are you don't need to read this review!

The hyper x cloud mix is a great headset but now there are better gaming headsets for the money so I can't recommend this knowing that the steel series arctis 9x exists but I'll continue when I purchased this headset my interest was the multi-functionality being able to use it at home on my Xbox one X (wired) then take it outside wirelessly with my phone was very appealing especially at a time when dual connectivity wasn't a thing the build quality is very good the manufacturer offers replacement parts for a very low cost the boom mic and chat lead are fully detachable the ear cushions are also replaceable and the headset is backed up by 2 years warranty which is excellent for a gaming headset (one of the pros with hyper x)the sound is good, bass isn't too punchy, treble is ok audio is clear and the drivers do get fairly loud, the mic is excellent for both wired and wireless (boom mic has to be removed for blue tooth use the headset switches to built in mics) my only annoyance was that it has Micro USB which is a terrible connector anyway you don't need to charge the headset when in wired use (only wireless use uses the battery).I've had the headset for over a year and 8 months and its still going strong ear cushions need replacing as the faux leather started coming away but its very affordable to replace.Overall I don't recommend this headset in 2021 as there's much better options for the money such as the steel series arctis 9x and the corsair HS75xb I went for the arctis 9x as they have superior audio performance for the price and offer dual wireless connectivity at roughly the same price as the cloud mix both are extremely comfortable my review for that headset will come soon.

First impressions of this headset – nicely chunky with clean lines and plenty of padding on the ears. As a gaming headset the branding is nicely minimal – to the extent that I have also started using this as my Bluetooth headset of choice when I go to the office. The neatness is offset slightly by the short vicible cables that go from the earphones to the headband but they are pretty unobtrusive.Thie Cloud MIX offers both wired and Bluetooth capability. I have tended to use the Bluetooth because there is barely a noticeable difference when using the supported AptX codec and the latency is negligible for gaming or other similar uses. However, using cables doesn’t require battery and offers hi-res audio, which is a potential plus. On the other hand, I don’t particularly notice the difference in sound quality and either approach doesn’t approach the same broad soundstage and precision I get from my monitor headphones. The sound, though, is still pleasing and chunky, with robust if slightly mellow bass and clear mids/highs.The built-in michrophone works very well indoors, with a small amount of echo. There is a boom mic which only works when the headset plugged in as far as I can tell. This mic is crystal clear so if you need to have absolutely no doubt that you are being understood, this is your best option. The built-in mic is fine for my purposes.All-iniall, this means I now have a wireless headset that is comfortable, light, with excellent audio quality, low latency and nearly a full day of battery life. It’s good to have the option of plugging it in, although the audiophile advantage seems limited; I would suggest the biggest advantage would be the mic.

This is a great overall product with excellent build quality, but since I come from a music production background, I can feel there is a lack of punch around 150hz to 200hz when listening to electronic music specifically, but I would assume if you are playing games, it should not effect the experience much at all. The overall character of sound is a little bit towards the warmer side. Other than that, it generally feels balanced with a decent enough sound stage and a present, but not overbearing high end.The only real contention is around music listening with the punch of bass, but gaming on it thus far has been flawless in my honest opinion. If you are looking for a headset at a fantastic price which you can also use to make calls just by plugging it into your phone, or likewise using it with a PC and or gaming console, then this should be the headset for you!I was initially researching for weeks the best headsets on the market and the brand, 'Astro' kept appearing, but lots of reviewers were claiming that they were plagued with issues, especially the A50s, and that the A40s minimum needed a DAC to make it worthwhile. So in the end, I vouched for these and I have not regretted it since. I would highly recommend!

An amazing product like always by HyperX, but not for everyone. I have owned cloud alphas before that, and do not get me wrong, those were amazing headphones as well. They were a bit bulkier, not wireless, and a little worse sounding, but unnoticeable without a hi-rez capable system. They were also more comfortable than cloud alphas. Do not get me wrong, they are still really comfortable, but because cloud mix is smaller in size, the earcups are also smaller along with their amazing padding. I would call that the only downside to the headphones. Also the price. Are they worth their full price of ~180£? Probably not. At that price range there are other good options like Bose and Sony wireless, that are always on a discount. But if you can get them for 100£ like me? Those would be one of the best headphones in the price range. And given that the product is made to be an all-rounder for wireless outside when you aren't home, and plugged in for gaming at home, those are the best headphones out there for me. Would they be ideal for you? See for yourself. In conclusion, they are amazing headphones, designed for certain people, not everyone.

Bought these as I wanted a good quality headset that was also wireless.I usually don't like spending a lot as I've had £20 Sennheiser headphones for 7-8 years now.I was recommended HyperX by many different people, and after wearing them for not even 10 minutes I was already hooked.Very good sound quality and great bass for listening to music. The wireless range is acceptable for walking around the house and fine for just sitting at your desk. Moreover, at 100% charge mine lasted 25 hours of non-stop use before it needed charging, and it charged back to full in barely 2 hours. It comes with a splitter cable to plug into the computer if you don't like the 20ms sound delay while gaming and obviously a charging cable.Would recommended to anyone wanting a wireless (or wired)headset with amazing sound quality.

I currently own the HyperX Cloudx Revolver Gears of War and Corsair HS35 (green) headsets. The Corsair is definately more comforatable but the Hyper X sounds better IMO. For me though this Cloid Mix is too small , the ear cups are actually slightly smaller then the Sony BT ones I also own. The sound is louder and more 'boomy' but the ear cups size is too small and the clamping force too strong. The mic is very clear though. I was disappointed to find out the the Hi Res Audio playback only works in wired mode.I also own the Sony WH-1000XM3 which also has Hi Res Audio playback and they work in BT mode. I am not suprised the Hyper X does not play Hi Res Audio in BT mode given the price. The Sony is about twice as much.Due to the fact this headset if not comforatbale for me I will need to return it. Shame

This gaming headset is made up of incredibly comfortable headphones and a responsive, flexible microphone. The headphones can be connected to devices via Bluetooth - which for me was simple and problem free to both Samsung phone and Huawei tablet - or by 3.5mm jack. Sound quality is excellent for both games and music playback with decent bass that doesn't take away from top-end frequencies. The audio out via the microphone was great (tested via online Xbox One gaming). The big selling point to me on this head set is the comfort - the headphones fit to the head such that only the earpads make contact around the ear and the flat speaker does not press up against the ear itself. The headband is highly adjustable with decent padding.Overall, very comfortable headset with excellent audio in and out.

The sound quality is good on these headphones, although they do go a bit tinny on some of the sound effects on World of Warcraft and they do not replicate Death Knight voices as well as other headsets I have. The mic is good, picks up my voice well and people on Team Speak cannot hear the background noise at all.The main wow factor for this headset is the comfort level. I wear glasses and headphones tend to make my head sore after a while, but these are really comfy. They have excellent padding in the ear sections and also a certain amount of "give" in the headphone structure so they are not stuck rigidly to your head. I did a full three tier raid which took five hours with no discomfort.

Received this last night and though I was a tad skeptical on how well they would work I gave them a try. The size of them was a tad daunting but oh my, they put out crisp sound! I plugged in to my phone to listen to music and everything was clear, plugged in to my Xbox and holy cow I could hear everything, but the best was yet to come! I live in a house with boys and dogs, I watch a lot of Hulu and for the first time ever I was able to watch a movie and NOT HEAR anything but the movie! I will definitely be purchasing another set! I cannot believe the difference in this headset compared to the bottom and mid dollar ones i have been purchasing at local retailers. This comes with everything you need to hook up to any gaming system. The headphones themselves are comfortable for hours of use. If you have background noise you can attach the additional mic and it cancels out a lot of it so you dont annoy your teammates. The sound is nice and crisp.... i just cant say enough about these i love them! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

We are gamers in my house so when I received this headset I quickly opened it up and started using it. The headset is very comfortable the sound is very clear. If you plan on using the mic when your using the headsets Bluetooth the quality works better if you use the microphone attachment rather than the built in Mic. If your on the edge of making a decision on whether to buy or not look no further because these are by far the best headphones I've ever had! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
