I'm impressed by these HyperX budget gaming headphones, which are suitable for PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Mobile. I tested them using my PC, which unfortunately meant I wasn't able to test the microphone due to the limited inputs on my PC.To evaluate sound quality, I played a variety of music using Spotify with High Quality. I compared this set against my £200 Sennheiser GAME ZERO headset. The HyperX set performed surprisingly well, with great sound quality. However they are a bit too heavy on the bass for my tastes. If you like booming bass and loud explosions, these headphones are definitely for you. By contrast, my Sennheiser's provide a more well-rounded and balanced sound and are better for listening to music...but they cost several times as much!I found the headset comfortable to wear, though the ear cup material made my ears feel warmer than my Sennheisers. This HyperX headset also puts slightly too much pressure on my lower ear, though I think I'd quickly get used to it and I doubt it'd bother me with extended use.These headphones have a single 3.5mm connector - the microphone and the headphones all connect through the same plug. If you want to use the microphone, you need to ensure your device supports this via a single 3.5mm plug. The consoles named above will all be fine.The build quality of this HyperX headset quality is good, especially for the price.You can easily adjust the volume using the in-line audio control which hangs about chest height. There's also a little switch for quickly enabling/disabling the microphone, which is useful.The microphone is flexible and can easily be adjusted to fit for comfort. It can also be rotated upwards to keep it out of the way when not in use.You get an impressive 2 year warranty with these headphones.One minor annoyance is that the cable is a little short (it's about 1m long), though it's probably perfect for most console gamers.Overall, I'm very impressed with this headset, especially considering its low price (£34.99 at the time of review).

Update 2:For listening to music, they are okay not bad as I thought. Mids are okay, treble is okay bass is good. If you are using Linux, try Pulse Effects (It really makes the sound quality 1000 times better).Original:Amazing headphone for casual gamers like me. I tested on a PS4 and PC. Everything works out of the box on both the platforms.Audio is great overall (9/10)Great for Single player games, due to the fact this gives more bass and make you feel more immersed into the game. Okay for online FPS games, don't get me wrong treble is okay (not bad), you can hear directional footsteps (tested on Overwatch and Battlefield), but they are not loud as I expected it to be.Mic is really outstanding at this price (10/10),no complaints (Tested on PS Party and Discord).Ear cushions are okay, not the best (not leather, see my pic), but they are comfy.It doesn't look cheap as it has matt plastic finish rather than glossy. It is light too, can wear for prolonged game sessions.The ear cups aren't rotatable as HyperX Cloud Stinger. From the spec look this seems to the latest version of their "HyperX Cloud Stinger Core Console Gaming Headset".It doesn't say anywhere, but this headset has Impedance of 16 Ω (lower impedance is good for consoles). My Box had a headset with the 3.5mm cable and PC extension cable. Well packed. This is definitely good for gaming (wouldn't recommend for music listening as this is bass heavy). I bought at full price and would recommend for anyone looking for a budget headphone for PC or PS4.

I bought this headset to go with my new pc and for a starter headset, it is amazing! The price-quality ratio is amazing and they are very comfortable to wear. It has a dongle so you can plug into your controller or pc with ease. One thing is if your switching from a different brand headset the ear cuffs might feel a bit small at first. My brother has some corsair bluetooth headset and he said it feels small however you should get used it quickly. Another thing that might annoy you is that sound leaks out of the headphone. What I mean by this is if there is anyone sitting next to you whilst you play, watch, etc they will be able to hear wha your listening to if your volume is at 100%.This isn't a massive issue to me or to many people but it is something I wish I knew before.the build quality is good. It doesnt feel cheap but doesnt feel premium. Quality shouldn't be a problem for most. 1 thing that annoyed me was the software that hyperx made wasnt compatible with the cloud stingers even though on their website it says it is. Again, this might not be and issue for you, it wasnt really for me, I just wanted to play about with settings. Overall this headset is good for someone who has just bought a pc and wants budget friendly peripherals and for people that play console. This is way better then turtle beach which is what most console users get.

Review of HyperX Cloud Stinger Core Console Gaming HeadsetAs a budget headset these are pretty good. While not as good as their bigger brothers, and definitely not as comfortable, they actually come pretty close. Tested on Mobile and PCSound: The sound is pretty good. A bit heavy on the bass for me personally, and the mids are a bit muted in the mix, but the highs are nice and clear.Looks: They are a moulded plastic but seem sturdy enough and there is a flex in the head strap to aid fitting.Comfort: They are quite a tight fit out of the box and shaking my head they don’t slip about too much. The ear cups are smaller and thus tighter around the ear than the more expensive ones. Also,the material is not as smooth on the ears. Over time they are a bit sweatier and can be kind of painful on the ears as they're a little squished into the cup. But we are talking hours of game play to get to that stage. The biggest niggle is that the ear cups don’t turn 90 degrees when you rest them on your neck and kind of clamp down on your chin. So this encourages taking them completely off when resting which may promote more resting.They don’t suppress much outside noise but just enough enough to concentrate on what you’re doing and flicking the plastic simulating knocks does not produce any unpleasant noises.Conclusion 3.5/5

I am really impressed with this gaming headset. I got this for my son who has recently started playing online thanks to the phenomena of Fortnight. It replaces a cheaper £15 headset which was quite heavy and had a very long cable. That set ultimately broke. The headphone jack snapped off inside the DualShock controller. So not only did I need to get a new headset but also a new DS4 controller. An expensive episode.I am so happy that this new headset is better in every way. It is extremely light. The cable is a lot shorter but still ample. A long cable is not required when plugging it into the controller. The materials used are better qaulity and will stand the test of time.It comes with an in-line audio control were you can mute and also adjust the volume. The microphone stalk is very flexible and can be positioned easlily to suit your needs.The headset is plastic with a metal adjuster and the ear muffs are made of a soft cloth, there is also cloth padding underneath the band to protect your head. Overall a very comfortable and durable headset ideal for gaming on your PS4 consoles.

I somewhat downgraded from a £90 turtle beach headset which I had for around 3 years, not expecting much from this product really. But I can assure you, it really was worth the money I paid.Pros:1. It is extremely comfortable (memory foam)2. The sounds quality ain’t up as good as a turtle beach, but, works really well in FPS games (footsteps are clear and gun fire etc)3. It’s not expensive and over all decent quality headsetThe only one complaint I have about this headset is the microphone it self. Now I love the flip function and the flexibility, however the let down is actually in the quality of the mic. All my friends on PS4 have stated that the mic is often “tinnie” or “sounds like I have flu” or just in general “not very good”.Overall,if you’re a gamer looking to buy a cheap headset that works well in FPS shooters, and any other games really then I’d definitely recommend this product.

So if you're looking for a good 'budget' headset for gaming then the stinger core is a good choice - coming from someone who's use turtle beach before, this headset was great. It has excellent padding on the ears and especially on the headband - almost feels like memory foam? They're super comfortable and you can wear them for hours and they don't hurt or get uncomfortable. The sound, it's good. You can distinctly hear the placement of movements - like in counter strike, you're able to locate where they're coming from easily. They can get loud but they're not extremely loud and there is some sound leak so if you're in a room with someone it's likely they will be able to hear whatever is playing through your headset.The mic doesn't come with a pop filter and the mic is reasonable, maybe a slight distortion on the other end. Overall its a good headset especially for the price.

I bought these as a replacement for my turtle beaches, all i can say is WOW.i was originally hesitant about purchasing this product, but watched reviews and took the plunge.The price may put you off, but they have sound quality similar to that of a £150 turtle beach headset, the microphone quality is OK, it is the main downside of this product, but you get what you buy.I use these to play rainbow six siege and battlefield, they fully immerse you into the game, you are able to hear directional audio, like footsteps with ease. i have noticed that extended periods of use cause slight pain over the ear, but apart from that, perfect.My only problems with this product are due to the cable length,it is too short and i find myself stretching it certain times.8/10, very good quality, highly recommend for gamers on a budget, wish cable was longer.

I bought this headphone because my friend recommended me it. I have been using it now for the past couple of days since i bought it. I could honestly say it's decent for it price. The mic is flexible so you can put it next to your mouth for those who likes to annoy their friends with their smelly breath right next to there mic, this is for you. The audio quality is very good and sometimes soo loud i had to lower the volume down which is good to have. Now the bad thing about having this headphones is when i put it over my ear, after you play for hours, it starts too feel a bit itchy especially when you start sweating.The material of ear pad is one bad side about this headphone but overall worth buying for a good quality headphone if you wanna hear footsteps on warzone.

These headphones wayyyyyy exceeded my expectations, I mean for this price I expected a lot less. But somehow Hyper X have managed to give you a premium quality headset.The headset is fully adjustable and well cushioned on the ears and the headband. The inline mic is also good and the sound wheel works well too.The actual sound quality is what shocked me, honestly it is a solid 8 out of 10 in comparison the Hyper X Cloud II's I have. The mic is pretty good too, and doesn't produce feedback unlike other budget headphones.Only gripe with these is that most headphones have the wire condition on one ear, but these have a separate wire condition for both ears, which some people might not like.But for the price you honestly can't complain,Overall 5/5 {^__^}

EDIT: The mic stopped working properly after 11 months, sent it back for refund.First of all this headset is very comfortable to have on and as a glasses wearer it's important that I'm able to wear my glasses without pain from the headset, so if you wear glasses these will be good!. The sound quality is pretty high and I'm impressed at the price of the headset for what you get. The microphone is pretty good also can't really fault it for what you pay. Over all very impressed. This is a good quality affordable product for someone who plays PS4 casually but is not a hardcore gamer, if you're a proper gamer and spend lots of time playing you might want something more, but this will do the job for most.I recommend.

The audio quality is good enough for my usage and for the price it's an excellent headset. The cushions are comfortable enough to wear all day (already put it to the test) although comfort is reduced if you have to wear glasses as they do press the frames quite a bit.The headset itself is a mix of plastic and metal adjusters and feels quite sturdy and quality.The mic also seems to work well enough, clear and no distortion so what more could you ask for? There's no foam mic cover / windshield included, but I've not noticed too much breathing feedback when positioning the mic slightly further away from my face and no major loss of volume as a result.Overall an excellent product for the price inmy opinion.

I also have the Cloud Alpha and the Revolver S so it was interesting to compare this lower range set. Although very well made they definitely feel cheaper, the ear pads are smaller and less comfortable, the mic is not removeable. Soundwise, the other 2 sets are similar but these are very different. They are quieter with a slightly squased mid and top end which gives the sound a more mellow and less brash feel. It was actually a quite pleasant flavour to the sound but still clear with decent base. I would recommend them for younger teens based on the more mellow sound levels if you're concerned about them over blasting their ears but still getting a good gaming experience.They will fit over a PSVR headset.

Hyperx continues to innovate with this headset geared specifically towards mobile devices, the highs and lows that this headset produces are acceptable for casual use but this takes into account it's intended purpose.if you intend to use these on a PC or for something other than gaming they not only won't produce the sound you're looking for but will also more than likely cause problems for you due to the single 3.5mm audio output. Using a splitter with the headset introduces unnecessary audio interference and as such it's super important to know exactly what you intend to use this budget headset for before you go through with the purchase.

My son is a committed gamer and his expensive (other brand) headset broke. Step in HyperX Cloud Stinger Core Console Gaming Headset.My son is more than picky, but these get the big thumbs up from him - really good sound quality, and effective noise cancelling. They're comfortable to wear, with soft padding on the ears and adjustable slider to fit over any head size. The microphone is crystal clear and swivels so you can adjust its position. The sound controls are on the cable. When the boy isn't gaming, I use it to listen to music on my iPhone - great sound. Recommended.
