Bought a couple of pretty expensive role play lightsabres for my boys for Christmas, only problem was their youngest brother was devastated that he didn’t get one because I thought he was still a little too young.Scouting through Amazon for cheap kids lightsabres and came across this, genuine Lucasfilm/Hasbro item with lights, sounds and you can record your own voice to playback. Batteries were even included!3 piece, extendable blade with blue light looks pretty neat in the dark, quite bright, and it flashes when you hit something. Found this out when, literally the same night of unboxing, an innocent lamp post was just within range and took a full swing...to my surprise the sabre survived,

Always wonder what you're buying when getting these types of toys. Scrap heap in 3 months?These are excellent!!! They feel very well made, the boys can actually 'sword fight' with them and they detect impact and make a light saver sound when clashing. Obviously over-exuberance would shorten the life-span but these feel solid and they have been mucking about with them since christmas, sometimes taking them outside etc on darker evenings and also sometimes insisting they bring them on hikes to fight bad guys *sigh*.Batteries have been changed once in that time, so they must be quite efficient with energy use. Delighted with them, highly recommended.

When I was young, I had a big lightsaber that whooshed because of the whistling echo of a the contraption being a hollow tube.Now my son has a lightsaber that telescopically lengthens, that glows, that makes noise based on accelerometers - different sound speeds for different motions and crackling on impact, to boot!Compared to the other less flashy lightsabers the other kids bring to their mock battles, this one is the best, the sturdiest, the most functionally advanced.

This is a fab toy. The record function is easy enough for a nearly three year old to understand, and it is really effective. My partner has spent equal amounts of time playing with this as our son! I would highly recommend this.

This is the prefect gift or toy for any Star Wars fan. Built quality is excellent and was perfectly packaged.The preset sounds (Tie Fighter, Chewee) etc are brilliant and when using own recording it is clear and accurate.

My 5 year old boy loved this!! So many different Star Wars sound effects and you can record your own sounds/voice too. Lights up brightly and extends if you flick it out. Fab toy, packaged well and delivered fast.

After I’d ordered this I was worried it may be a bit young for my son who’s 10 but he absolutely loved it! Lights up, great sound effects and you can record your own so lots of fun had with it.

My son loves this. It seems well made, lights up, extends with a flick of the wrist, has multiple pre set noises or can easily record your own which has been a hit with him and his friends.

Bought as a present. They've gotten so much fun out of playing with it. Well worth it. The voice modulation allows creating your own unique saber sounds which is hilarious.

Purchased as presents for two boys aged 5 and 7. Both thought these were great presents and have been practising their Star Wars skills for hours.

My wee boy wanted blue light up lightsabers, and this has the added bonus of making cool noises. We bought 2 so we could have battles. Great item

My grandson fell in love with this toy for his 5 th birthday. The adults loved it too. Great fun for everyone
