My two youngest girls (4 and 2) both have lost interest in being princesses and now pirates are the order of the day.Having read some reviews on here, I decided to order this outfit from Rubies. At £11.50 incl P&P it seemed a bargain - especially seeing the rubbish being sold on eBay.It was put on as soon as it arrived. Fabulous. The quality is really nice.The top does up with velcro down the back giving it a super little fit. The skirt is silky and a nice length. For my 4 year old, the skirt looks exactly like the picture so no problems that I've seen others have had with it being short. The hat is elasticated so fits her head well and, more importantly,

Really lovely costume in style and quality for my 4 1/2 year old daughter for a school pirate day. She is slim and the 5 -6 size fits her perfectly. If you child is tall or of a stocky build I would suggest you size up. The top has that cheap velcro type closures on be back that don;t work very well so I have added a set of press studs myself. The top is also a tad short on my daughter so we will be adding a white vest so she doesn't flash her tummy ever time she lifts her arms. The hat is really great and with the soft elastic is stays in place very well. The skirt is nice and full and my daughter is enjoying doing lots of swishing around in it.

brought this for daughter as she had to dress up at school for pirate day. item was delivered promptly and the item itself is very nice and my daughter loved wearing it for her dress up day, my only negative comment is my daughter is 5 and she a bit bigger than the average 5 year old shes very tall so i ordered the 7-8 as thats the clothes shes in anyway but the velcro at the back did come undone quite a few times but she had a thin top underneath so i would say if your child is bigger than average then go for the size above but the product itself is very nice and well worth the money.

Fab costume. I think it should have some elasticated parts to allow for size differences. My daughter is 2.5yrs but wears size 3-4, this was described as suitable up to 5yrs. However as I used it for Halloween; and it was cold, she had a t-shirt on underneath and as such it was a bit snug around the middle. The velcro type fasteners (4 if them) kept coming undone (just walking around). So maybe take some emergency safety pins with you! Apart from that.....fantastic. My daughter absolutely loves it and loved being a pirate (swashbuckler).

Great product, my daughter loves it.I would've given it 5 stars, however the velcro on the top is of very poor quality and doesn't keep the top fastened. I have stuck some better quality velcro to the top and this has sorted out the problem.Also I would like to add that my daughter is a tall 3 year old (almost 4) we purchased the 5-6 year costume and this only just fits her. I would advise that you purchase the next age bracket up if your going to buy this item.

Excellent! Went a size up and looks fine, but it’s stretchy, so my guess it would have been just about fine in the correct size, too, but my girls are very wide in the shoulders for their age. My girls love it, the dress looks very eye-catching and “piraty”. It’s comfortable and quite well stitched for something this disposable, will last quite a few parties and hopefully might even survive to be passed down to younger sister. It is synthetic, so will wash well.

The outfit says 5-7 years old but when the outfit came on the packaging in states age 5-6, I have a pettite 7year old so it was ok, so for a 7 year old you probably best to go for the next size to get the wear out of it. Also the skirt isn't as long as it shows in the picture & even though may Daughter is short(one of the shortest in her class) I felt she had to wear leggings. But apart from that it is a great fancy dress custome & did look really good on.

The pirate costume is a 3 piece outfit for a pirate girl. It has a lovely shaped and silky striped skirt with an elasticated waist, which is pretty and expandable for various sizes. The hat also fits well and matches the rest of the costume very well. The top fastens at the back but is a bit small for 5-7. It is all very silky and pretty though, and my daughter was very pleased with it.

It isn't a huge fit - my daughter is only just turned six, although she is very tall for her age. It fit her nicely, but wouldn't have fit if she was eight.She wore it all day at school for a theme day, and it was comfortable and not itchy. This is good, as many costumes get very uncomfortable after a couple of hours.Overall, very happy with it - and more importantly, so was she!

outfit look great, had to but the eye patch separately which is a shame. The outfit I bought was 7-8 for my daughter who was just turning 7 and very slim and slightly tall for her age. The fit was fine for everywhere except round the waist - I had to gather it by about 2-3 inches and sew it up to fit her (even then it was still loose). Hope that helps anyone with sizing :)

My 3 year old daughter developed a sudden liking for all things pirates ! This arrived in good time and it’s exactly as shown in the product photo , my daughter is tall for three so I wasn’t sure if I should have gone for a bigger size but it fitted perfectly , good quality and good play value. I bought her a treasure chest and telescope also to complete the gift .

Did exactly what it said in the description. My little girl loved it and stood out at the pirate party. Worth every penny, my only advice is to order slightly bigger than your childs actual size as its quite thin material so, unless it's the middle of a very good summer, then they'll probably want to wear some kind of clothing underneath.Would buy again if needed.

My daughter school had a pirate's day. I bought this dress and it arrived very quick. To be honest I was expecting a bit tacky dress for the price. I thought oh well she will only wear it once. When I opened the package I couldn't believe it. It's a very well made pirate dress for girls and size was just right. She received many compliments at school that day.

Great quality - washed well - daughters loves it.I didn't expect the quality to be that good due to the price we paid but i was wrong. My daughter loves it and would wear nothing else if she could. As i said it has washed and dried really well with no loss of colour no bobbling or shrinkage.Great Quality Great Price and will be used for many a year to come.

Bought this for my 6yr old daughter for her school perfomance and I ordered a 7-8yrs which fits perfectly as she is quite bigger for her age. Great product and great value for money. The material is just perfect and looks better than the ones I have previously bought from the high street stores in the past. I will surely recommend!!!! GREAT PRODUCT!!!!
