purchased for my daughters third birthday, along with many other much more expensive toys - but yet this little medical set is by far her favourite...typical!!!she had a medical set last christmas from elc, it cost 3 times as much as this one and was really poor quality, and didnt include as many items! This set is lovely, the case seems durable and all items fit easily inside (although we have removed inner packaging to make tidy up time easier and quicker!). The equipment is chunky and well made, no loose parts or fidly bits, and the medicine jar even has a chunky screw cap lid that really opens! most sets iv seen contain little cardboard boxes as medicine tubs, but this plastic jar is great,we have all been well and truly overdosed on her pretend tablets! It is educational too, my daughter had a sever asthma attack a few weeks back and had the pleasure of an ambulance ride (although she didnt enjoy it at the time) but since then she has been obsessed with doctors and ambulances. With this set she has spent many hours "travelling" to her patients, diagnosing and curing their illnesses - the best was the dogs broken ear which our dopey american bulldog patiently layed accross little ones lap whilst she took her blood pressure, gave her an injection, and overdosed her on pretend tablets - a real joy to watch!!!Im very glad that i chose this over some more expensive alternatives, excellent quality, lots of fun, and super fast delivary. If i had to find a fault it would be that the blood pressure cuff isnt big enough to fit on adult wrists but thats a minor pcomplaint as our daughter places it on our fingers instead! all in all, a great buy!

I bought this for my 3 1/2 year old daughter 3 weeks ago and she loves it!I'm usually quite wary of buying plastic toys without seeing them first as they tend to be flimsy, nothing like the pictures and break within the first 5 minutes, but for the £9 I paid for this I'm satisfied with the quality. You do after all 'get what you pay for'.My daughter carries her 'Doctor box' around with her everywhere. New toys don't usually get played with for this long in our house as the novelty wears off quite quickly. I've been collared into playing Doctors with her almost every day since it arrived as has Daddy and even her 9 year old brother has finally given in and will lay on the settee to have the tongue depressor shoved in his mouth and the thermometer jabbed under his arm!Even Grandparent's aren't safe. This is the first thing that gets packed when she stays at Nanny and Grandad's house! If I was to have a whinge though it would be that;a) It's difficult to get everything back in it's place tidily as the plastic holding all the instruments apart is rubbish so we threw it away and now everything just gets chucked in. (Not that kids are bothered about neatness!)b) It may just be that I was unlucky but the clip on the box isn't great. That's easily remedied though by sticking some velcro on it to stop it falling open.Minor gripes considering the amount of fun we've had playing with this set.

This was bought after much hesitation for a two year old who has much experience breaking, cracking and destroying anything she comes across. I was considering other more expensive branded options in the hope that it would survive more than a week in the hands of said toddler.Am happy to say that it has now survived almost daily play and banging about for three months now.The case is extremely sturdy and even the lock remains intact after many attempts to destroy it. The doctors equipment is also of good quality. The thermometer has a fiddly bit that changes the temperature. The blood pressure machine has a cool feature where you press on the pump and the blood pressure level moves up and down with a clicking sound. The medicine bottle cap screws on and off. This has given us many hours of fun check ups and is of great quality. Highly recommended.Edit- was revisitung my reviews and thought would add that now after almost 2 years of play this set has still survived with no cracks, no breaks. We might give it away i soon and I fully expect to last at the hand of more children.

I bought this for my 27mth old daughter, as she's been recently mentioning "the doctor" and playing with taking people's temperature, after she got a toy thermometer in a magazine. We opened it last night and she loves it. There's a whole host of different instruments, including: stethoscope, thermometer, ear-checking-thingamabob and a cool little blood pressure machine with a plastic 'weight' that moves up and down inside a clear plastic scale, as you press and release the handheld 'bulb'. All enclosed in a nice, plastic case which little hands can easily open and close. The one thing I don't like about this is that it includes a plastic bottle labelled "TABLETS" which I think is a little irresponsible by the manufacturers (for what should be obvious reasons,to any responsible parent). I guess it depends on the age of the child this is intended for but I'm either going to remove the label or simply hide the bottle. The last thing I want is my little girl thinking that any small, yellow bottle can be played with in the same way.

My Junior (14 month old) doctor seemed relatively content with her new kit. Even though I think she wanted the comment on how it doesn’t contain a hammer, bandage, or tweezers (as apparently the description had read), she was most pleased with the stethoscope in particular.Having almost suffered a significant injury just trying to get into the case, I was pleased to be able to open it up for my Junior Doctor to begin her consultation. It seems my blood pressure isn’t a worry (she couldn’t be bothered to pump) but she appeared very concerned about her ID badge. It’s left me thinking I need to change doctors (but not daughters, of course). My Junior Doctor however would probably tell you she is happy with the purchase, and then she’d likely shove a bottle of pills in your hand and walk off to take baby/bunny/unicorn’s temperature. She has so many patients these days.

I bought this for my Nephew's 3rd Birthday. We're a family of nurses and he loves this. It's just right for his age range and there is plenty of room in the case when you release the instruments from their plastic trays, to add in extras e.g. bandages and slings. I also added in a real stethoscope as this one (as with all of them) is just plastic. Some have a battery pack to make realistic noises, but we thought it would be more fun to get him a small one for real. I liked this kit because it stuck to including recognisable 'old school' instruments, and didn't clutter the case with 'pagers' and 'mobile phones' which are not really doctor specific. My nephew clung to it all day on receipt, and I've not doubt that this represents brilliant value!

This was bought for a 4 year old & proved popular with all 3 siblings, age 6, 4 & 2yrs. Good set, good value & contains everything you might expect. It's lasted well & the only reason I haven't given it 5* for durability as it's obviously very easy to loose bits, (but that's the nature of the toy). Would definitely recommend for enhanced role play. Great for imagination & cooperative play & don't forget it could pass just as well as a vets set. May need to be a little weary of small pieces with under 3yrs (although, I haven't noticed this as an issue at all). All in all a very good toy for preschoolers/young primary kids, so if you're considering this as a gift & they don't already have something similar,I doubt you'll regret it!

Everything comes neatly packed in this very high quality durable case. The toys are also good quality plastic. Only problem we had was that the blood pressure pipe was kinked in the box, we have to straighten it out before playing with it. I was impressed with the quality of the plastic for this toy, since it was so cheap on Amazon. It includes in it an otoscope, stethoscope, thermometer (you can turn the gauge on sick or not sick), hammer, eye drops, syringe, tablets, what looks like a dental mirror, the blood pressure machine and a nifty doctor badge, on which you can write the name of your child. All in all, very pleased with the product and she keeps playing 'sick dolly'with it (and sick mummy and sick daddy)

I got this for my daughter for Christmas and she loves this. All the instruments are large and chunky which is perfect for a little person, and I have had all the pieces used on me to get me better. I do like the case it came in, the transparent lid lets me know everything is in there, so no searching under the couch. The case is a nice quality plastic, similar to the pieces inside.A few down bits, for me are that one or two pieces are easily lost, however on the whole 99% of the items are still in the case. A small annoyance is that the blue cable that attached to the blood pressure device keeps coming undone and this can really diminish the fun had with the blood pressure toy.

This is a lovely little play set, once explained to the children what does what - easy to play with and play Doctor to all the members of the household. However for my 4 year old daughter she can not open or shut the case on her own as it 'latches' shut, I have shown her to lift it up, or push in and press down but I am for ever being asked to open the case, shut the case. Once the white plastic holding all the pieces has gone the case basically rattles around with all the stuff in it and as you can imagine gets used for other toys etc. Nice little play set if you have a little one who likes to keep things neat and tidy, I however am finding all the bits all over the lounge.

My son loves this doctors set and spends a lot of time treating his teddies and me. I am pleased with all of the items apart from the blood pressure gauge which just doesn't stay together. The cord connecting the meter to the hand pump falls off both of these leaving you with several pieces and although my son really enjoyed it as it kept falling apart as he used it I decided to throw it out. The stethoscope is lovely and my sons favorite. The rest of the kit is nice and safe with rounded ends so your not worrying about them being over zealous and causing injuries. If the blood pressure meter stayed together I would have given it 5 stars.

This is a fun-packed case. I bought this for both a 3 and 4 year old boy and girl as they are both into Dr and Nurses. Having experienced innoculations at the Dr's it helped my little boy to understand abount health etc and he wanted to get his own back by vaccinating me which helped him get out his frustration of not liking the vaccines ( had to have a number when we went on hols) . Excellent toy which he keeps going back to over and over again especially as he knows Grandma is a nurse and explains how everything works and is learning bits of medical vocabulory. it did make me smile when my 3 yr old asked to look at my metatarsels!

Very pleased about the carrycase content, my little girl love it, even she do not know all the tools what are good for, she is only two years and a half, but her girlfriend has a a toy that resmbles whit this and she wanted one for herself, to hear the baby doll hart with stethoscope, like a doctor do.Unfortunately poor packaged by Amazon and the carrycase arrived with a hinge broken and the cover partly split.I had to watch my girl when opened it, not to hurt her fingers and find another box to put the content. Desapointed about that, to late to send back, cause the paper label was cut first, before damage to be seen.

This is an excellent educational toy with durable components and carrycase. I always find buying toys the most challenging task because experience shows that most of these toys (yes, 99.9% of them from the Chinese factory) become useless in no time and end up in the recycling bin. This kit is giving me more confidence to last a bit longer.I am already witnessing the health of animate toys and humans alike in the house being checked. Yes, my heartbeat and blood pressure were already checked at least twice on Christmas day. However, I ask myself -- should it be that expensive?

8.3.2013

This is quite robust. I am quite impressed at the quality (especially considering the price)!! My nephew loves anything involving role play & thinks this is the bees knees!! The items inside are not too small & are strong enough to thrown about by a little boy aged 3 & 3/4's!! The thin plastic holder which you can see in the picture positioning the instruments does need to be thrown away & then the items are "loose" in the case. This has not stopped my nephews enjoyment of the product. .... Purchased along with for doctors scrub PJ's - also an amazon purchase.
