2 year old grandson absolutely adores his toolkit. He carries the case round with him all day and loved all the tools and the little workbench and could work all the screws and nuts easily. It does say not for under 3s but he was using it under supervision. It's all a huge hit and despite some reviews, it does feel suitably robust and it survived much use and clattering around on its first outing yesterday. Highly recommended. Update on 25.08.16, our grandson was upset to leave his toolkit at our house so we bought another for his home. At just two years and 4 months, he uses the tools correctly and with confidence, even down to using the claw end of the hammer to remove the nails. He is happy to dismantle the workbench and re-erect it. It's a great toy to teach and enhance dexterity and is so much loved that he went to bed with the spanner, hammer and screwdriver last night and woke up clutching them. He is in 7th heaven. I believe that this is a very safe kit for a two year old. There are no parts which are small enough for an adult to swallow or choke on let alone a child. Our grandson has had no inclination to put any of it in his mouth but if in doubt, would recommend use under supervision. All of the kits have been ver much clattered around so far and there is no damage to anything. If anyone else has had a problem, I think they have just been very unlucky. I still highly recommend this set.

This toy has been in daily use by our three-year-old grandson who takes it everywhere. It contains a plastic claw hammer, one end of which is for baning in the plastic 'nails', and the other end, the claw, can be used for removing them, just as in real life. The adjustable plastic spanner can be used to fit round the nuts and can tighten or loosen them. The screwdriver actually turns the screws clockwise to tighten or anti-clockwise to loosen. These tools have been very useful for the child to learn new manual skills as well as vocabulary. The saw makes a 'sawing' noise when used against the side of the plastic workbench (but obviously it doesn't cut!) The only tool which doesn't seem so useful, apart from making a pleasantly grating noise, is the set square with centimetres marked on one side and inches on the other. The tools have proved very durable. The only thing I'd like improved, if possible, is the 'catch' on the toolbox itself which is sometimes difficult to close and open even for me as an adult!

My toddler grandson loved this. He's learning the fine motor skills required to undo the screws & bolts - using the screwdriver & spanner are much harder to learn than just bashing everything. The case is handy to keep everything in but also because children love having something to carry.Only given 4 stars because I can't see the point of the set square (except it gets used as another hammer!) & there's excessive packaging around the tools - get rid of all that & replace with a spirit level or tape measure (obviously making sure they're safe for little people)A year on & the grandson "fixes" everything! This tool set is still going strong & gets a lot of use when he comes to visit. Now at 2 + he loves measuring things so I'd reiterate my previous suggestion for some kind of tape measure which would prolong the play value even further.

For an inexpensive toy this is really lots of fun and very clever. The carry box contains a few plastic tools, that are actually well made and all you need for a bit of creative play. My son loves this toy and made both myself and his dad smile when he went looking for the toolbox every time he was watching Disney Planes. The reason... a scene where the mechanic is trying to fix Dusty. I would recommend this little gem of a toy as it really will give your little ones some creative inspiration and help with their learning and development as they act out what they see around them and go about fixing things. You don't have to spend a fortune to give a child some fun.

I brought this as a Christmas present for my 2 year old daughter and she loves it. All the pieces are made of strong, durable, colourful plastic and are just the right size for small hands. There is a hammer, screwdriver, set-square, saw, adjustable spanner and a little bench that is put together by the child using the plastic screws and nails included. For the price I am really impressed with the quality of this 'fix-it kit'. The saw, spanner and set square all have moving parts that imitate real life and it looks like they will put up with the everyday life of being a toddler's toy. I would definately recommend this product to anyone with a budding builder.

My two year old son absolutely adores this tool set. He carries it around with him and whenever were doing anything even remotely resembling DIY, he runs off to fetch it. So far, he has put up his baby sister's cot, converted his own cot into a junior bed, assembled our new dining table, put up some coat hooks and done some basic repair work on mommy's car. In addition, we're always "fixing" some toy or other that he has decided has some major work required!Perfect size for toddler hands and, being made of plastic, nice and light so no damage is caused when he starts trying to fix the TV...

My 21 month old son loves this little toolbox and its contents! From the very first time i showed him his new toy he could not wait to start playing with it and it has been a good few months since and he still loves to play with all the little tools and the little workbench that came with it. Every tool is just the right size for his little hands and he loves to imitate 'fixing things' since he saw his grandad put together his tricycle, and his dad adjust his cot etc. All the tools are brightly coloured and very child friendly. Would highly reccomend it for any little boy.

I brought this item for my friends little boy's 2nd birthday. The case is of a lovely high quality, and the tools themselves are really hard wearing. The case clips closed really tight so theres no chances of the tools falling out when theyre being carried and so on.The price and delivery for this item really are amazing. Not too expencive, and it was delivered a few days after buying instead of waiting a week or so.If you are looking for something like this be it a present or a toy for your own child, then i would HIGHLY recommend it to you.10/10

I have just bought one of theses kits for my two year old grandson and he just loves it. In particular the saw which has a plastic slid on it and when used against the little bench included, makes a sawing noise. So much did he love it that he would not be separated from it when it was time to go to his nursery school. this is a very clever and well thought out toy, lots of play value and opportunities to practice fine and gross motor skills. Excellent value and highly recommended especially for children whose parent's are very good at DIY.

Overall I'm satisfied with this product. Although the small plastic workbench is not robust enough to withstand the constant hammering you'd think it was designed for. One of the legs (the fixture to attach it to the bench) broke quite easily. I would superglue it but then you cannot store it away in the toolbox which would be a shame. On the otherhand, the bench has only 1 leg to stand on. You have to balance the bench on something else. My son really likes to hammer the plastic nails into the bench!

I bought this for my little nephew and he's played with it a lot. It's great because it comes with it's own carry case so after playing you just put it all back in and it's a little tool box.The pieces are sturdy and easy for little hands to get hold off, and whilst it's not exactly educational, it does teach them about co-ordination as they have to be able to put the screws into the holes to bash them with the hammer.Great fun for little boys who want to copy dad doing his DIY.

My 2 year old son loves this toy, and it's quite exceptional for him to go back to a particular toy time and again! He has a bit of trouble opening the case but I'm sure he will learn very quickly. The spanner is adjustable and there's screws and nuts to fit perfectly with the screwdriver and spanner. I love the saw as it can be used without causing any damage to a surface. Well worth the £7 odd and would definitely buy another for my baby son when he's old enough.

Great item bought for my daughters first birthday by her older brother (3yo) as she was always trying to pinch his builders tools which really were too old for her. Although it says from age 3 as some of the bits are too small for a 1yo we removed the nuts and bolts and it was fine. I think if we'd bought this for 5 or 6 yo they would have been bored very quickly as the tools are very basic.Very good value for the price especially as it comes with the toolbox

This seems to be a hit with my 2 year old. He's trying his hardest to use all tools and accessories :) the only downside to this is that tools and mini table come in a plastic trays, which had to be removed, so all a bit lose in the case now. And the nails could have been a bit wider, so you can actually hammer them in all the way through. As it stands, they go almost to the end of the table and there's not much hammering to be done. Nevertheless - good fun.

This is a great quality toy! My daughter loves to emulate a lot of the things I do, so this was a great choice of toy for when I am going and fixing bits round the house. It is also really good that it comes with the case as well as she loves the idea of a tool box. The pieces in the toolbox are weel made and have certainly helped to spur the imgination of my little one. The price for this toy as well makes it an excellent purchase.
