I bought this toy for my 21 months old daughter cause she likes to be busy with her hands and she is good at it, so I thought this toy would be nice for her since it added an extra challenge for her (using the screws and such). She really likes it, when she plays on her own she tries to build the gears in order to move them or stacks the nails in the holes with other pieces but if Im there with her its better cause I can guide her through, so its shown that with interaction, this toy can be good for a pre-toddler, still I would recommend children over 2 years old, Im pretty sure my girl will have more fun then. The pieces are big enough,so even if they put the bolts in their mouth it is highly unlikely and very difficult for them to get them stuck or swallow. Some pieces seem to be of some very sturdy plastic (the one that it comes in the hammer for example), its very well glued, my daughter is rough when playing and all the pieces are intact. The wood is of a nice quality, the toy doesnt smell bad neither smells strongly like painting. The colors dont fade when the pieces are thrown or hammered really hard, etc. so it seems the colors will be durable, its bright and pretty just like in the picture. The holes were slightly smaller than the nail bodies, for ie. if you put the nail it would be extremaly hard to take it off at first, so I put the nails and hammered them all through a couple of times to make the holes a bit more wide and now they are good to play with. All the tools DO work with all the pieces, this is to be noted since other toolboxes I saw had nails and such but the screwdrivers wouldnt work neither the wrenches. You can also build the two gears with the extra pieces to move them with the hand, this way you can see how gears work when put together, I thought it was a nice thing.I live in Denmark (for me is cheaper to buy from Amazon some toys cause here everything is too expensive) and the toy was very well packaged, the pieces inside came all in small packages aswell.I gave it a 4 and not a 5 cause I would have really like some extra pieces. But Im very pleased with the quality.

This is worth the £11.50 I paid, it is made from smooth wood, no sharp edges and lovely primary colours. The hammer is made from moulded plastic and it is not the sort to break easily. My grandson is over the moon with it as he follows his granddad with his tools and this is the reason we bought it as he likes granddads tools too much. The little tool box is just the right size for him to carry and he tries to use the claw part of the hammer to get the nails back out, if he cant do it he hammers from the other side. the screws are nice and big for him to learn how to hold his spanner and screwdriver, taking the screws off and them putting them back.I can not fault this in any way.The build quality is good, the items in the kit are good, the colours are good. A perfect set for what we needed and will look at this brand for further items in future. My 30 month old grandson is over the moon with it.

This is a great size for my (nearly) 2 year old to carry about and the tools are made from a nice wood with smoothed edges. You can screw the bolts and lugs through the holes on the case and the spanner does actually fit to turn them. What is really really disappointing is the colour. I specifically chose this item as I loved the pastel colourway, but be warned it's not as shown in the picture - it's all primary colours green, blue, red, yellow and the 2 bolts are plastic. My partner thinks it's still great and I'm being over fussy, but I was really disappointed and would have preferred to see the real item I was buying.

Wanted wooden toys this year for my 2year old grandson- I’m SO fedup with plastic rubbish !!!He loves it so much, he now has all the tools that his dad uses and can hammer without breaking it!! Shame there isn’t a saw but I will look elsewhere to add to his toolbox.I don’t let him have the smaller pieces just yet (choking hazard) but the information does recommend +3 years. He loves it

This is a perfect example of what kids toys should be like! solid and well made none of that plastic rubbish that costs a fortune and breaks within minutes! The colours were lovely and bold and my nephew loved it! Immediatly begun to carry his little wooden tools with him everywhere. Perfect!

This is a great little set for the price, has lasted well with lots of bashing by an enthusiastic 2yr old. It was also a lot better than a considerably more expensive set which looked better initially. This set has a lot of things to play with and held my son's attention a lot better.

This is well made, strong, great fun. My son loves it. Love all the wooden tools, lots to do with it. Highly recommend it. I originally gave it 5 stars but dropped a star because the two cogs broke soon after. All other parts perfect and tough.

Well made, strong and sturdy with lovely bright colours. The pieces are a good size for little hands and the cogs and pegs are a good challenge for a small child. My son loves carrying this around the house and 'fixing' things.

This was a steal, my 2 year old daughter spends bearly all of her time carting this about and attempting to fix things. Money well spent. Wish more of the bolt were included as these were misplaced in the very first few days.

Bought this product for my 18 month old girl. Great quality and looks good too and most importantly, she absolutely loves it and has being playing with it loads. I think this is good value for the money.

bought this for my sons birthday but I let him have it early, he absolutely loves it. Well made and has interesting pieces with it. Worth the money for the quality of the hammer, screwdriver and spanner.

This is such a great toy very well made and sturdy. I love the fact is made out of wood and not the rubbish plastic which breaks easily. My three year old loves it and is kept entertained for ages

Very robust, great colours and easy to use and teach. My 3 yr old loves it, she's now often busy hammering away at the screws, and grabs her screwdriver to 'help' whenever I'm doing DIY

Very sturdy, encourages imaginative play and also tidying up, as I ensure my toddler puts the tools back in the toolbox ;)Happy son, happy Mum. Would buy as a gift.
