Hard to convey how sherried this whisky is, in fact on the nose you could mistake it for one! Knocks the spots off a Dalmore in that respect. I like a sherry finish on an Islay for example, but in this one it's far more prominent, dominant in fact! While I may drink a sherry once in a while I usually find it too sickly sweet, and this whisky strikes a good balance between those sweet funky raisin sherry notes and a deep woody flavour that keeps the whole thing nicely grounded.Having tried this side by side with the rest of the range I'd say this is the best bang for buck, but it's not particularly cheap for an 18 year old whisky. If you have had the pleasure of tasting this whisky before then you’ll already know how fantastic it truly is. However if you are still yet to taste this then you are in for a treat.On the nose you have strong sherry, dark fruits of plums and raisins, cinnamon spice and dark cocoa. The impact on the palate is rich and powerful yet smooth and creamy with a long aftertaste of spice and dark chocolate. Highly recommend.

On a visit to the distillery earlier this year, I bought a bottle of batch 5, which as you can imagine, came recommended by the assistant in the shop. True to word, it was lovely. Didn't last long. The bottle that is. A bottle of 18 y.o. was my next trial and as expected, very, very nice. This could soon become my favourite tipple. Oh yeah, and the distillery shop assistant was great as well.

I had visited the distillery and bought the 12 year old and was very pleased with that. When my daughter got married recently I thought as a nice whisky for part of the celebration I would get this 18 year old. It is a stunning good whisky, not only to my palate but everyone who tasted it and many are fussy with their whiskies. Exceptionally nice whisky and hence my 5 stars at a good price.

by far is this one of the best whiskies i have drank, although it only lasted a weekend with some friends i decided to visit the distillery to be told that the Alerdice is actually cut with 21 yr old, so you are getting alot of 21yr old for the price of an 18. highly recommend this if you are a fan of sherry cask whiskies.

Having attended a tasting where they had the 12, 15, 18, 21, cask strength, and peated this was the pick of the bunch. It’s a huge sherry bomb which comes in multiple levels. My only criticism could be the after taste doesn’t last as long as some, however it was good enough that I gladly bought a bottle to take home.

Also too precious to simply open and drink/enjoy/experience right away. Needs the right moment, the right company, eg. Holland (finally!) winning the World Cup ... which could be a very long wait; so, ehh, perhaps I'd better, umm ... you know ...!

This is one of the best whiskies I have tasted. Matured in sherry casks alone giving this massive flavour. Becoming more difficult to get a hold of now for a decent price as I was told its now being released in very small batches.

Superb redefined my perception of whiskey! You can really taste the cask and it has a certain sweetness to it in the middle that is just so pleasant but not at all sickly.Was bought it as a gift and am very appreciative!

The taste is phenomenal, had to quickly buy the 12yr old Glendronach so i dont finish this one too quickly and am able to save for special occasions. Definitely going to buy again

I brought this bottle to add to my collection and I must say this is well worth the money an exceptionally good malt with a smooth test this is now my favourite to date

If you like a strong but smooth single malt that isnt peaty, aged in sheery cask, this is for you . Christmas in a glass. Drink responsibly NOT :)

One of the best value 18yr whiskies out there at the moment. Absolute sherry monster. Buy it, you won't regret it

Almost as good as 21 year old Glenfraclas . Must enjoyed with a small drop of scottish water and good friends

well, again this is my 2nd bottle, however the first has now gone, enough to say I enjoyed it thoroughly.
