If you believe the mini-conspiracy that there are only 3 to 5 string factories in the entire world - then you probably won't care too much for the name of the brand on the packaging!I bought these for my Les Paul, which I assumed (as I bought it new from a Gibson dealer) were the same set. I can't tell the difference between both the new and old sets so that's a good thing! Hard to fault really, apart from the fact that a set of Cleartones I put on my other guitar lasted longer and look better, not that it matters really, but loses one star as I know of at least one superior set out there!NOTE - Just in case you care, this is not the packaging I recieved - it had a picture of Buddy Holly on it...not that it makes a difference.

Had my doubts but thought I would try them out on my Les Paul. Really, really like them and I prefer the tome to the bright wires I had before. If you've got a half descent amp you can hear the difference quite easily and they feel better too. On my Les Paul the sustain on the first string now has a much better sound perfect for blues soloing. Whopping a bit of Mid up on the amp and switching to 'Lead' on the guitar and I'm churning out Steve Jones (Sex Pistols). Cancel the mid up on the bass and treble with a bit of flange (ooeerr missus!) and I'm playing like Alex Lifeson (Rush). All in all am very happy and have just ordered some more for my Fender...Do I sound like Hendrix, do I, huh, huh?

I've used a fairly wide variety of strings on my Les Paul, usually from from Gibson and Ernie Ball, and have always favoured the Gibson products. I saw the reviews on these Vintage strings and decided to give them a try and they will definitely be my go to strings from now on. They are comfortable to play, have great attack when you crank up the treble, but still manage a perfect mellow tone when you want a bluesier feel.I obviously can't give any recommendations for non-Les Paul guitars, but definitely recommended if you own one of those.

These sound very good on my SG Junior. For those who don't know, there's an excellent tip for restringing a guitar and making sure it stays in tune. Once each string is on and tuned to correct key, place your left hand on the string between the 3rd - 5th fret and pull the string up giving it some tension about an inch at the 12th fret with your right. Retune and repeat about a dozen times and you've got a guitar that will stay in tune (pretty much).

Restrung my Gibson Robot SG with these - and delighted with the tone. Clear and full, bell-like even. Excellent for slide guitar, my main style, and also for conventional fretting. Vintage in every sense of the word!UPDATE: just restrung my 1968 SG Standard with these as well - equally pleased!

I fitted these to my black eleven year old epiphone Gibson and after tuning it up it sounds like new . Notably Nice deep tones on the top three strings and good tones on the bottom I stuck with original sizes. Top E snapped on an old set. new strings provide better sound all in all very good.

Nothing wrong with the strings, I like the Brite Wires and I like pure nickel wrap strings as a whole, but these just didn't quite suit the guitar I put them on. Neither did DR Blues for that matter. The guitar just seems to work better with standard nickel/ steel ones.

Recently purchased a Gibson les pal supreme that came with brite wire gibson strings. Changed to the vintage reissue and loved the sound. The vintage reissue strings bring out a beautiful rich and deep tone with the guitar, perfect for classic rock and blues.

Having tried all sorts of strings in the past, I have finally settled with Gibson Vintage Reissues for all three of my guitars: a Les Paul, an SG and a Strat. They feel nice, and don't seem to go off as quickly as other makes.

I have them on my Epiphone LP Standard and find they are just a little dull in the high end. Think they are not for me but perfect for another guitar.

A perfect compliment for my Les Paul Gibson hopefully made to the same exacting standards that Gibson demonstrates with all it's products.

Excellent strings well packaged and fast delivery. Made my epiphone les Paul 100 feel and sound like a new guitar.
