I started playing guitar a few years ago, and having broken some strings when I first started playing, I decided that it was time to buy a full set of new strings. I picked up a packet of these strings as I had heard that they sound good with a 000M body guitar, and as soon as I started playing with them I immediately noticed a difference. The notes ring out with a very crisp, warm tone, and they are perfect for everyday playing and more.Personally I feel as though these strings have just the right amount of flex in them to be able to get some really good tones when bending the strings, but they do feel quite light when you first start playing with them, especially when coming from a medium weight string.These strings also last a long time, and they can put up with most of the torture that you can put them through on a daily basis.The only negative things that I can say about these strings is that they can sound a little bit too bright when you first put them on, and the low E string can be a bit difficult to remove when you are changing them, but those are more subjective things as opposed to universal truth; the objective fact, however, is that these strings are brilliant, especially at the price that they are at.Footnote: just a little bit more information so that you can make up your mind on whether or not these are for you, I play a Sigma 000M-1st guitar (Sigma being a daughter company of Martin Guitars, so their models are quite similar) that hasn't been modified from its base state other than the string change.

As someone that prefers playing electric guitar and dislikes the limitations of an acoustic guitar, the Rock and Blues strings are a nice compromise. The high strings are very light for extremely easy to bend and the bass strings are Medium/Heavy for meaty power chords. I'd go as far to say that bending with these strings is as easy as it is on a strat, which is is saying something. The only downside is that chords don't have that sparkle and twang which you'd normally associate with an acoustic so if you're into playing traditional acoustic guitar songs then avoid these at all cost. They also have less volume and sound noticeably thinner overall.In summary,if you're into soloing or playing licks and want to practice on your acoustic as opposed to your electric, give these a whirl, they're extremely nice to play. If, however, you prefer the traditional sound of an acoustic and play a lot of chords then you might want to consider the light or medium gauges, or higher. I'll get the extra light/light strings next time and see which one fits the perfect middle ground. Hope this helps with making your decision.

Previously I had Daddario EJ15's on my guitar. I play a mix of acoustic and blues type lead. As soon as I had these tuned up, I immediately regretted putting them on. I played a couple of chords and it sounded like a whole chunk of tone was missing, a bit like trying to listen to Drum n Bass through pocket speakers.Then I played a few lines of lead, and damn they are good. Feels like playing an electric. Playing notes around 12 fret upwards on the high E string produces a great tone, a lot warmer (if not quieter) than the other strings. They are super easy to bend and the sound and feel of individual strings is great.Chords still sound awefull though! But since these are blues string designed to be thin for the style of play,you kinda would expect that.My advice is buy these if you play a lot more lead/blues style. If you play a lot of chords, these just won't do unless you have a second acoustic you can keep these on.Over all, the definitely do the job they are designed for.

Bought these to replace some Martin Extra Lights that sounded completely dead on my acoustic guitar, so bad that I could hardly bear to play it! Initially I thought I had mucked up replacing the nut and saddle, and lowering the action when I decided the original strings were on their way out. But with these EB Extra Lights things are back to normal. Almost double the price of the Martins, but still cheap enough and well worth the extra as they have really nice tone. Should have been no surprise really, as EB Super Slinkys always sound fantastic on the electric. Now that I have these on the acoustic, playing it is a pleasure once again! I really can't recommend them highly enough.

Wow what a difference new strings make. I am a new player of only a few months, & learnt many chords with some finger tip pain using D'Addario EXP 12-53 regular light Phosphor Bronze. I changed to Ernie Ball Earthwood light 11-52 & the ease of playing is a magnitude better for feel & sound. Even the elusive F Major is attainable, which was a stumbling block for me combining the B & E string. Durability/Longevitiy are not issues for me at this time, as I only play for short bursts. D'Addario EXP's claim extended life, although they cost approx. 3 x more expensive...your decision no doubt will match your playing needs. I found a noticeable difference...well pleased so far.

I'm no expert of acoustic guitar strings but I've played electric guitar on and off for 20 years and after trying all the major brands of electric guitar strings, I've always used ernie ball.I only recently bought another acoustic guitar after getting bored with them many years ago and I'm really enjoying it atm.The guitar I bought was just a cheapo but it sounds pretty good.I have so far tried d'addario and these ernie balls.The ernie balls sound alot brighter than the d'addario strings but dont seem to have as much bass.I'm not sure about string life as I've o ly had these fitted a few days.Overall, for the money you can't go wrong.

Excellent strings! They sound incredible, very bright and pretty easy to play. I probably should've got the gauge up from these as I prefer a thicker string (I play the Power Slinky (11-48) electric set from Ernie Ball), but that's just a personal thing and should NOT be taken as a negative!The delivery was prompt, arriving a day or 2 after I ordered them, and the packaging was just a standard card Amazon envelope which those who have purchased something of a similar size from Amazon before would be familiar with.I strongly recommend these to any acoustic player, especially if you're going to be playing some acoustic lead stuff.

I have used Ernie Ball Earthwood strings for almost 40 years but this is the first time I've chosen light gauge strings - and I think I got exactly what I expected. I am used to the harshness of sound that a new set of Earthwood strings always has so that came as no surprise but I know very well that the sound will mellow quickly with use. I am a regular user of EXTRA light-gauge strings but I bought these light-gauge on a whim and yes, both the feel AND tone are slightly different but it's interesting to experiment now and then. I like the fuller tonal quality of this set of strings so I'll award them five stars.

Fantastic strings, easy to play and easy to tune. String bending and tapping also sounds brilliant with them. The G string is unwound, allowing additional flexibility and bluesier tone overall.BUT... be VERY cautious when putting them on. Wind the strings SLOWLY. I ended up having to buy two packs because I was a bit over-zealous and wound the top E string too quickly and it snapped straight away. That's all though. Great for acoustic rock; blues; slide and lead licks. Bonamassa and Trout better watch their backs, I'm coming for you now! :D

I was a little bit hesitant about my playing ability, and then I read an article about how these string were the 'dog's danglers' for any wannabee blues man. It may be a little bit of wishful thinking on my part, but I found myself playing with more confidence after fitting them, even my long suffering wife agreed that I'd improved and was more confident in my playing. It's ernie ball all the way now, on my strat, my bass and my acoustic, B.B. King and Joe Bonamassa, move over!{ I WISH !}

My acoustic had started to sound dull and lifeless, so I bought a set of Gibson strings, which didn't help. It wrecked the action, sounded rubbish and did nothing but annoy me until one broke after 2 weeks. I was pretty relieved, and I got Ernie Ball's recommended to me. These strings made my guitar sound bright and full of life, I was made up! A definate recommendation to all guitarists out there, this is easily the cheapest way to make your guitar sounds beautiful!

I'd been looking for some really nice sounding strings for my Electro-Acoustic and up till now had been disappointing with what i'd found. I was recommended these by a friend and once I'd restrung my guitar the difference was immediately noticeable.The sound is full, deep and bright and has a really nice sound when played through an amp.I love these! I've always used Ernie Balls on my electric guitars and now my acoustic too, Ernie Balls all the way from now on.

these are good strings and I'd deffo get em again.** TOP TIP **I recently discovered how amazing polished frets are on a guitar, shiny smooth frets allow the micro vibrations to sustain longer it's like the difference between DVD and Blu-ray in guitar terms and really makes your guitar a joy to play.Get some brasso metal polish wadding or similar and go for it, it adds 5-10 mins to changing a set of strings and makes your guitar sweet for weeks.

Having used Earthwood acoustic strings from Ernie Ball for the majority of the past 25-30 years on all of the acoustic guitars I've owned they always sound great to me. In that time I've only twice had an issue with the quality of a particular string and I've changed my strings roughly every 4 weeks or so. That's a lot of packs, you do the maths. I have no interest in Ernie Ball Earthwood strings other than being a happy long term customer :-)

Nice tonal qualities ranging from bassy to bright, didn't take much bedding in/stretching before they held tuning. Only downside is they tend to squeak when sliding your fingers, but this is probably more noticeable than normal to me as they were replacing coated Elixir Nanowebs which didn't make a sound when sliding. These are half the price of the Nanowebs and sound as good, so no complaints. No issues with rusting several months in.
