After much experimentation with lots of different manufacturers I can say without any reservation that if you play in low tuning you need to choose D'Addario. Bright, crisp, full of tone, and hard wearing. I have these strings on my Jackson Flying V and Ltd 6 string tuned to Drop A# and C standard respectively and the tone and longevity of these strings is unmatched.Caution though, if you want to put these babies on a guitar with a floating bridge (i.e. Floyd Rose) you are going to have to add additional springs to your tremolo in order to balance the tension because there is a lot of tension! Adding additional strings is simplicity itself, remove the back cover, make room for the springs (usually you have space for 5 but three are installed at an angle so you have to rearrange them), and add in the extra two.Further caution, whilst the additional springs balances out the tension on the bridge, dive-bombing requires additional effort. If you have visions of getting these strings, drop tuning, and dive-bombing like Dimebag, you might need to double up on arm day at the gym.

Having purchased a really beautiful old Hohner guitar recently - which came minus strings and a damaged neck.......after repairing the neck and giving the guitar and a good clean and polish, I decided to invest in this set of "Nashville tuning" strings for a different, lighter sound.(Nashville tuning - using a 6 string guitar - is achieved by using the top - thinnest- 6 strings from a 12 string guitar set-up).Although I'm pleased with the resulting sound, I will add a word of caution... that is the original high "G" string (actually a 9 thou diameter which could be construed a extra light "E" string) snapped between F# and G using standard tuning due to the very high tension limit imposed on this string. After replacing this with another string I decided to tune down a whole tone, reducing this after a few days to a semi-tone below standard tuning. I will probably tune up the remaining semi-tone a little later.

I used to be a fan of Ernie Ball's strings until I purchased my 7 string guitar and found out that Ernie Ball's 7 string sets aren't as good. So I decided to look into D'Addario's selection and found the perfect gauge for my Ab tuning. After reading several reviews I decided to purchase them and they are far superior to any strings I've ever owned. I have now had them on my Schecter Omen Extreme 7 for about 6 months and they're still in excellent condition! Would highly recommend these to any 7 string players looking for some long-lasting, quality strings.

Although strings are a matter of personal and preference due to the feel and tone that that may produce, for me, these were exceptional. Bright and tight tones that last a long time with proper stretching wen applied. Other brands' may stay 'like new' for about a week and a half; these lasted about 3 for me. Would most definitely recommend them to anyone if they want strings good for most, if not all, uses.

I always use these strings on my electric guitars now and have done for the last 20 years, they are a good compromise between 9's & 10's. D'Addario are the only company, that I'm aware of, that make this gauge of string. If you find 10's a bit too heavy and 9's a bit too light, give these a try.

placed on a standard neck 'strat' to downtune - lovely rich tone - especially nice for milder distortion-crunch - but make sure the fullness of tone is what you want in a mix - intonation adjustment wouldn't cope with B without shortening the spring in the adjuster

Bought these for my 7 string guitar and discarded the .9 string. The only gripe I have is all the strings are loose in the package. But, there is a key on the side of the packet matching colour and string gauge.

I've found these to be a great compromise between a 9 and 10 pack tension wise and they sound clear and just a little warmer than Ernie Balls. They sound wonderful on my telecasters and P90 guitars especially.

High E string broke when I put them on my SG so I had to replace that with a standard 9. To be fair though it may have been my fault and the rest of the set feel and sound great. By all means give them a try.

Having tried various brands and gauges of strings over the years, D'Addario tend to be the best. Consistently high quality and always sound great and hold the tuning very well. You cant go wrong with these.

Fantastic for the price. I tune down to drop G on my Agile 727 and these feel very well balanced in terms of tension. They also seem to have lasted loads longer than the Earnie Ball sets that I used to use.

Bought these for recording to add some variation to our sound, and what a difference. These strings are fantastic, sound great, easily stay in tune, and overall a great set of strings. No gripes whatsoever.

these strings deliver the sound i was looking for, very full with lots of tone, and they're strong too, none have broken yet (touch wood.... not that wood...) and the seller delivered them quickly too ^_^

D'Addarios are my go to strings after failings with other makes. If you're think about trying a 9.5 set up, id advise it if you think 9s are too thin and 10s are too thick. 9.5s are perfect for me.

These are my goto strings whenever I need to replace strings on my semi hollow guitar. They have great resonance and last quite awhile. They stay in tune really well also. Well worth the price.
