Brilliant - on a calm day. Fits discreetly in my raincoat pocket, small enough to take in hand baggage when flying (although it did give the x-ray machine operator at security a fright!), and for the size of it kept me surprisingly dry when it rained when I was hiking, which made the few minutes coaxing it back into it's pouch seem worthwhile. However, the umbrella struggled to stay up when later used on a day with a light breeze, so that's why 4 stars rather than 5, I think in wet and windy conditions it will be staying in my pocket, which I think probably rules out most wet days here.

This is perfect for small handbags. It is very light-weight and packs up to a very small size (about the size of a hard-cased glasses case), and is perfect protection from possible sudden showers.I would say that it doesn't feel particularly sturdy, but so far I have not had any actual problems with it, but I would worry how it performs in strong gales.I get through a few umbrellas a year, either through breaking or loss, so I do not expect this one to last for years and years but so far it has performed well and I would buy it again because it is such a convenient size.

Yes, it feels a bit fragile but I would like to think it will hold up. I've used it once in a big windy downpour but I held the stem at the top and bottom and it performed well keeping my head dry. The rain was sideways so my legs got wet and perhaps a fair bit wetter than from a 'normal' sized umbrella. I bought this to keep in my suit jacket pocket on suspicious days and I think it is perfect for that. It is so small, it disappears but when the heavens open I'll have enough protection that I can manage (except for the occasional wet legs).

i love these umbrellas, i never lose them because i never leave them around since they are so pocketable. you can get the water off of them and put them back in your pocket instantly thanks to the waterproof materials, and they are sturdy enough to last a long time. the only drawback is that they aren't the widest diameter meaning that you may get a bit wet in heavy rain. BUT at least you will ALWAYS have it with you. the best umbrella is the one you have with you when it rains!

Handy, well made and fits in a coat pocket or car glove compartment. I have had several of these over the last decade and they have lasted well, having survived being blown inside out on numerous occasions in gusty cross winds without breaking. Of course, eventually they do break after years of this kind of punishment in the British climate. I would be surprised if you could find a better compact umbrella. It is a bit on the pricey side though.

No brainer. Get a few. Give away as presents. Always come handy as it is UK. They have got that fancy label of Fulton - the Royal Warrant - "by appointment to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II" so will make a posh gift. Make people happy.Queen herself uses transparent Fultons. Great umbrellas. I will be sending some to my parents, siblings and friends in the continental Europe, too.Again quality and value from Amazon. Jeff Bezos we salute you.

It really is tiny and very light, when folded up - easily fits in a pocket... The canopy when extended is not huge, but will keep off a sharp shower. Wouldn't want to risk it in anything more than a breeze, but that's not the point. It'll stop your hairdo / new suit / whatever (delete as appropriate) from getting wet... Not cheap, but trade-off for tiny / light brolly! I like it - and so does my elderly mother, for whom I also bought one.

Friends think I'm mad spending more than three or four quid on a brolly but, as long as I don't lose them (!) it's worth it - they last a lot longer and are lighter and more compact. This brolly really does the job. I lost the previous one, and there's something about this one that just doesn't feel quite as solid as its predecessor, hence 4 stars not 5, but it's still a great gadget and not expensive for what you get.

Sizewise this is a great umbrella. It fits nicely into my laptop bag and generally is so small and light that I forget that it's in there. For short walks in the rain it's great but you do have to be delicate with it. I wouldn't use it in a very windy situation but I don't think it's about that. It's about keeping you dry when the weather sneaks up on you and it's perfect for that.

Can't get much smaller than this. Good manufacturing quality and quite wind resistant considering it's size. This should not be a criticism, but it's actually too small when opened, making it look a bit ridiculous. Besides that I lost it way too quickly, and this is way too expensive to be easily lost. Still, it's probably one of the best ultraportable umbrellas out there.

Bought my first Fulton Tiny 1 umbrella in Vancouver back in 2011. It lasted well over 2 years, and even now it can still keep the splashes off me, but (like everything) it'll need to be replaced, as I need to go out every day, I need to be prpeared for the weather! This year my umbrella has been put to the test, and it shows it's merit. Good product!

Had this 3 years and managed not to loose it. Very small and light . Fits in coat pockets and won’t notice it, as a backup. Perfect urban emergency umbrella. Opens up quite big & does the job. Well done Fulton. Had a previous Fulton that lasted me over 10 years but they don’t make that anymore. Got another 7 years to go on this one ;-)

Very tiny indeed but does what it is designed to do and keeps you dry in a pinch! It fits great in coat pockets as well as satchells and handbag/purses. Probably not great for drenching rainstorms so you would need a standard umbrella for that but it is good to have if rain catches you out and you need some temporary protection.

A very strong umbrella which folds up really small and is easy and light to carry and will slip into a pocket or handbag easily. I'm glad to say I haven't had to use it very often but when I did I was very pleased. Although more expensive than most umbrellas I think it should outlast them. Hopefully anyway.

I've always used these Fultons. They used to have a lifetime guarantee...Well someone got real eventually. Still, with proper handling they last a few years and pack a lot of brolly into a very small space. Fits in my bag so I can always have my brolly at the ready. This is England you know.
