Let me be the first to recommend this to any fan of Percy Jackson. As a newcomer to the world of Percy Jackson (after seeing the film advertised, I wanted to read the book before I saw it) naturally I went out to buy the set of books.. I did a "test the water by buying Lightning Thief but then saw this, in passing, in a local games shop. It is, what it says it is..all the books..but that's at a much cheaper price than the books themselves and i myself prefer them like this too, it's so much comfier to sit on a bus with a DS lite than a book and wanna read at night but can't get into the right light? well switch off the lights and use the DS instead. The books also have extra features, maybe not so much for older readers like myself (21) but i'm sure its great for kids. There are coins hidden on the pages which you collect and then use to buy extra features like pictures of characters and Greek Gods/Legends etc. also, for the greek mythology ignorant, like myself, anytime there is a reference to greek mythology: the word(s) is underlined and you can click it for a little bubble that tells you what it is ie. Ares: God of war.. and you can somehow unlock extra things like separate pieces from "The Demigod Files" and an extra book too.. but forgive me for not giving this part of the game a review as I of course just enjoy the reading. For those not familiar with electronic books, as I wasn't.. the DS turns on its side and acts like a book with a page on each screen and you can turn the page by either sliding the stylus left/right or using the directional buttons. you can also use a slider to skip lots of pages for if you have already started reading the book (which is a little tricky seen as the page numbers are different cos the pages are smaller.. there are 2011 pages >.<) and it also "bookmarks" your page, and you do this by clicking "close book" before you switch off the console (again, i found this out the hard way)and so, overall this book/game gets the 5 star treatment from me and I recommend it to anyone young or old.. :)~paperface~

This comes directly from my 10-year old child:"Flips Percy Jackson is one of the best games on a DS you can find, because since it is on an electronic device, some of the words are highlighted and if you click on them the game will give you the definition or facts. This is very useful along the reading and makes it more interesting. When I read the printed books, I forgot sometimes which god was which; but with this game, I could tell one from the others more easily. I've found out that the writing on the game is very close to the original printed versions, and it's very easy to read even on the DS screens. The way it works as an eReader is very cool.Another thing: this game comes with extra books that you can unlock in different ways.I liked these books because I don't have to look for them or wait for them to be available in a library or store."As you can see, you can't get a review more accurate than this. This was an excellent birthday present and has been very enjoyable. If your kids like to read, I'm sure they'll like it very much.Excellent product.

I bought the Artemis Fowl flip for my youngest daughter to step up her reading skills. My youngest son borrowed Percy Jackson from the school library and did keep his enthusiasm up enough to read the first chapter in book form, but then he flagged and took it back. So I got this one for him.He is doing quite well, reads to himself a bit and quite easy to check his comprehension, plus he enjoys collecting the coins and reading the links. Even if he is not reading every single word he is challenged and engaged in interacting with a book that is beyond his usual reading level. I just wish there were more titles please.

My 10 yr old nephew was thoroughly absorbed by this. He now talks confidently about the Greek Gods. He is a keen reader anyway but the portabilty of the DS system means he always has a book 'to hand'. I hope they bring out an increasing number of flips as they definitely ( thru mini games etc) entice young people to read.

After purchasing the DS XL I went onto purchase this little beauty. This makes excellent use of the large screens on the DS XL together with colour pictures and wonderfully written books I am hoping that nintendo continue to publish flips an absolutely brilliant idea, my kids love it as well
