I bought this spade as an Easter present for my wife, who had been nagging me for ages to buy her a new spade.I am very pleased with the product, so far my wife has dug out 3 sets of roots and managed to dig over the flower bed and dig out well established weeds.Spade comes with a plastic envelope, that covers the metal spade end, so once she's finished, she cleans it, puts the plastic cover on, and I hang it on the back of the shed door. Thoroughly recommend, the Mrs says it's good also.

I bought this spade because I was removing a flower bed from my back garden and moving the soil elsewhere, and I knew my old (rusting) spade wouldn't do the job. This one did the job brilliantly, shifting stones and moving soil really well. I decided to go for a stainless steel spade to guard against rust in future. I've had it for a while now and I wipe down the metal after every gardening session, and it's showing no signs of corrosion so far. The price was reasonable, too.

Spear & Jackson have been around for years now so when I was looking for a well made garden spade their one caught my eye. It's more expensive than some but it's worth the extra money in my opinion. The spade is well made and feels nice and solid in the hand. It has worked very well when I've used it on several occasions since buying it. I would certainly recommend it over cheaper alternatives.

HAVE BROUGHT SPEAR & JACKSON SPADES/PRODUCTS OVERTHE YEARS. AND THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN MADE OF GOOD RELIABLE STURDY QUALITY.THIS ONE IS THE SAME APART FROM 1 THINGTHE EDGES/NICKS/FOOT PLATES AT THE TOP OF THE SPADE HEAD EITHERSIDE ARE VERY ANNOYING AND DONT REALLY SERVE ANY PURPOSE OTHER THAN GETTING IN THE WAY.WOULD BE BETTER WITH OUT THEM HENCE WHY GIVING IT LOWER SCORES

Bought this for my husband as a replacement for the one that he broke. The look and feel of it is poor quality. A great design, the handle and body are all blended wood leading to the spades metal shaft and head of the spade. A very sturdy, well made product by a brand that is well known and trusted. A lovely clean edge that gives a neat clean dig. Highly recommend this product.

The spade is well balanced, and a joy to use when digging due to the quality finish hardly any pressure is needed to dig,I was looking at a cheaper range,but it was out of stock,even though I was paying extra,I'm glad I did .the finish to the spade is quality, and when spear and Jackson are mentioned, this may sound silly but their the rolls Royce of garden tools 10/10

Purchased for digging on our allotment. Good quality spade at a great price and comes with a 10 year warranty. Husband has been using it this week and is very pleased. Ordered online for immediate collection in our local Argos store. COVID safe measures in place and no waiting to be served. Excellent!

I needed a larger spade for bigger jobs in the garden, i already have a border spade, ok for small digging jobs. The main thing is it is stainless steel which makes it lighter for a large spade and stainless steel cuts through the ground and roots etc a lot easier, good price for a Spear and Jackson.

I’ve got to say this spade is excellent, used it to dig up a small tree in the back garden. It’s obvious the build quality is good and it certainly looks lovely with its wooden handle, proper old school, none of this modern plastic. They don’t make them like they use to... wait they do and this is it

This is an excellent spade, great price and service!I probably dig and shifted approx 8t of earth with this to form a number of flower beds and it performed amazingly, only had to slow down to get my breath to do more.... extremely please and you shouldn’t hesitate to but this!!

Ive always liked spear and Jackson items, but this is the second spade I've had in a year, it says there's a 10 year warranty with the spade but the first one I had it split in half which I was surprised at, I couldn't take it back cus I'd lost the receipt, so I had to buy another one

Looks great, feels splendid, and is a pleasure to use, topped with a generate warranty makes this purchase a no brainer. My wife prefers lighter equipment, but I do most of the digging and prefer something built to last,plus this def isn't heavy

Bought this along with the matching fork. For the price you cannot beat this product. Very strong and well made. It looks really beautiful too. Don’t waist your money on any other cheap rubbish. This is the real deal. Should last a lifetime

Great spade! Needed to dig up part of my lawn to make a boarder and plant a number of plants and this spade made it such easy work. Cut through thick grass with little issue and had a really good weight to it when digging out the holes.

Great spade! I’m petite so wanted something that wasn’t too cumbersome and heavy-this fits that perfectly. It’s a nice design, the treads are a good fit and it’s so lightweight, yet strong enough to do the job. I can highly recommend.
