Worth the SplurgeI’m an exclusive pumper and having to pump around the clock 8-12 times a day, I was feeling really down being stuck to the wall, or having to detach my pump mid-session to pick up my crying baby. I also hated trying to plan my entire day around pumping, especially if I had to leave the house for longer than a few hours. I originally wanted to try the competitor wireless pump that uses disposable bags (because that was the only one I had heard of at the time) but after watching some YouTube videos I learned about Elvie and was completely intrigued that it had reusable 5oz bottles instead of one-time use bags! Upon receiving and testing out my Elvie pump for a week now,I can gladly say it was worth the splurge. There is definitely room for improvement, which is expected given the technology is still very new. The sensor does not always accurately measure how much milk has been expressed, and this can cause the pump to pause and wait for you to empty the bottles because they are “full”. Many reviewers stated that they did not get the same output as other pumps even on the highest setting, however this was not the case for me. I was actually pumping about the same amount (if not more) with my Elvie as the Medela Pump In Style. For those who did not get as much output, I would assume this would be an issue with the wrong flange size or the pump not being assembled or placed properly because I express on the lowest or second to lowest setting to get the most output. The Elvie App does not have a feature to save your preferred suction levels so by default it starts at a medium suction for Stimulation Mode (which is too strong for me) and then again a couple minutes later at Expression Mode. It’s just a bit annoying having to constantly reset my suction levels, but not a super huge deal and I’m sure this would be improved later with software upgrades. There were a few times my Elvie would lose suction on one side, and I troubleshooted myself on what the issue was. Besides fitting the flange correctly on your breast, the pump seals have to be completely pressed flat and free of any moisture- otherwise it will not suction properly. Any time I felt I was losing suction, I would double check and fix the seal and the suction would be just as good again. Like other reviewers mentioned, leaking can be an issue when using the pump if you lean forward too much. This is also not a huge deal as I am still more mobile than a traditional pump tied to a wall, so I am just more mindful while I am pumping to avoid any leaks. I still have been able to cook dinner, feed baby, change baby’s diaper, do dishes, walk around a shopping mall, and pump in long car rides without any leaking issues. Overall this product was worth the splurge as I have so much more freedom and flexibility than before. There is roomfor improvement but again, this is expected with newer technology and I expect these issues to be ironed out in the near future.

First off, no pump is ever going to get a 5/5 unless it pumps, puts the milk away for you, and cleans itself. That being said, I started with a Spectra S1 which I loved. In the beginning I was hemorrhaging milk, 12-16 ounces per pump session. I am an exclusive pumper. I have flat and inverted nipples which makes latching very difficult and very painful. I pumped and breastfeed directly with my first one (he's 9 now). I had a Medela that I hated so I went with the Spectra. Very few parts to clean and portable. At around month 3 my new baby started sleeping through the night, I got the Skyla IUD, and started my menstrual cycle again. My milk started to dry up, fast! I freaked out.Had my IUD removed and tried so hard to pump more frequently but just couldn't. No matter how person my Spectra was, I still couldn't do all the mommy take while hooked up to the blasted thing. I had heard about the Willow pump but didn't not want to invest in the proprietary 3 ounce bags. In walks the Elvie into my life. I was ecstatic to be one of the first in the US to get my hands on it. Finally it came and immediately I was disappointed. It was painful to use. The flanges were not shaped the same, they are more flat and centering them with my flat nipples was tricky. Also the pump starts off at a "rip your nipple off" setting and even after you lower the suction, once it switches to expression mode it kicks the darn thing back up to "rip your nipple off". Also, when you lower the suction it increases the rhythm, increase the suction decreases the rhythm. So, the ability to customize settings was not as good as the Medela and Spectra. All that aside, it has given me the ability to build up my milk again. I went from a meager 5 ounces a day back up to 20 and I'm using herbal supplements to try to kick it up a little more. I have now been using the Elvie exclusively for about a month and after getting used to the settings and the fit and figuring out which nursing bras it works best with I love it. It is no longer painful to use. Some people report that it leaks, it does not for me but I think the leaking could result from not having the pump sitting very snuggly again your boob. It has this rhythmic suck 5x then blows really gently to get the milk through the valve. If you don't have the pump on nice and tight it could blow your milk right out the side of the flange. At the end of the day, I think there are improvements to be made. The app is really clunky, the parts are numerous and don't hold up well with repeated sterilizing. I have been using to StarSan which is food grade sterilizer that my husband used for beer making to about warping my parts with constant boiling or microwaving. I think this is a great product for really busy moms that need to pump. My HSA paid for mine so I think it's worth the money. I look forward to see what the next generation pump looks like from this company.

Having used the pump for over a week I am so pleased with what it offers. Whilst not silent it sure is super quiet and whilst not discreet can simply and comfortably be worn inside a bra. So comfortable that you can almost forget you’re wearing it! It really is a super little piece of kit. The box comes complete with all the accessories you need, including two sizes of shield to get the best fit and bra extenders to allow you to wear it inside a bra. Having used both manual and other electric pumps previously I found that the Elvie was equally, if not more, efficient in pumping the same quantity of milk. And it is so super comfortable to wear you can almost forget it’s on.It’s quite neat in the way you can follow the milk levels via the app (although I found that this wasn’t always completely accurate - it’s still a helpful addition given that you can’t see the pump and output once worn). You can also control the pump settings via the app as well. It has two modes, the first stimulation works at a faster pace to help let down which switches over automatically to the other mode. You can also control the strength of suction which again is helpful and super easy to use, as well as options to pause and turn off the app. What I found limiting was the availability of different settings (it would be nice to control the pace as well as strength) but notwithstanding this the pump still worked very efficiently and perhaps deemed unnecessary features. There are instruction demos via the app which means that use could not be simpler. And all so user friendly. Battery wise, i’ve managed to complete a number of sessions without recharging it - i’d say over 2 hours of pumping time. Comfort wise this is second to none. You really can forget you’re wearing it and go about doing other activities. The pump is small for what it offers but somewhat disappointingly I would still be conscious about wearing this in public, at least without a very large sweater to cover up. Equally whilst claiming to be silent there is still some noise, albeit it very minimal and it is soooooo much quieter than other electric pumps i’ve used - it’s a game changer in this respect.Albeit expensive, it really is a great product. The are some tweaks needed to make it the complete product but I am sure these will come with future app updates and iterations. Importantly the kit comes with everything you need but it’s the experience that you are really paying for. Elvie allows already busy and tired Mums a hands free means of pumping; making the whole experience less onerous and more pleasurable than before. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I got the Elvie pump about 6 weeks ago. As a medical professional working full time this is one of the best mom purchases I have made.I also have the Spectra S2 - I get as much or more out with the Elvie compare to using the Spectra. I hated being tied to tubes and/or the plug and this makes the experience of pumping way less stressful. There are some real life factors to consider that I have listed below though.Pros:Very quiet (about as loud as a whisper). Can be worn under clothing and is shaped like a breast. There is literally not a single activity that I have tried to do while wearing it that I have been unable to do. I have changed/carried my baby, worked, walked around, driven, etc.Get at least as much (or a little more) than with my prior pump.I can clean all the parts with a Medea wipe in about 8 minutes total.Lasts 3-4 pumps per charge and charges easily (with a USB). I have even used a cell phone portable charger to get more charge on a long day.More comfortable expression mode (to me) compared to my Spectra.Fantastic customer service. I was having suction issues and narrowed it down to one of my hubs after trouble shooting with different bras and parts. I told Elvie and they had a new hub overnighted to me to fix the issue after only a 5 minute phone call.Cons: Not quite silent. I would not want to use this while working right next to someone and definitely will not wear it while seeing patients.Still conspicuous. My boobs are about twice their normal size with the Elvie pump on. I bring large sweaters to work but it is still noticeable that something has changed.Troubleshooting can be difficult in public. If you are using it in public, it is definitely worth a couple minutes to get it positioned well and with great suction before leaving a private area unless you want to mess with your boob. It is also worth trying the pump with a new bra before leaving for the day. Some bras don’t allow for as much pressure/suction and can decrease the effectiveness in my experience. It takes 5-10 minutes longer for a pumping session. This is easier to do since you can do other stuff while pumping but may be a hindrance if you can’t get on with your job due to these other factors.Amount displayed on the app is rarely correct for me, but I move a lot. If I can’t read how much is in the vial because I’m at an angle, I definitely can’t expect the pump to.Overall, the Elvie has been a fantastic purchase for me. I have recommended this to all of my friends and family. Freedom while pumping is THE BEST and the Elvie works so well.

Having had a bad breast feeding experience with my first baby I wanted to express with my new baby. I already had a hospital grade double electric pump but the prospect of having to be back home to pump every 3hrs was a major stumbling block. That’s when I started researching the Elvie. I had to seriously consider given the price point and also some of the reviews I’d seen about milk volume vs a standard electric pump. Having weighed up the benefits I thought it was worth the investment to give me the option of pumping whilst out and about. My intention was to use alongside my other pump. I started using on Day 5, to see what the yield was like and I was in a state of shock! In 15mins I managed to pump double the amount I could achieve with my original pump. And this was with the additional benefit of being able to sit downstairs with my family and not being closeted upstairs attached to a pump that looks like something out of a milking parlour! Expressing was no longer isolating and the prospect of exclusively expressing was a feasible reality instead of a good intention! I’m now 3wks in, and my supply far exceeds anything I expected when I read the initial reviews of the Elvie. I can pump double what I need and am currently in a position to start donating my milk. I can go for a coffee or shopping with friends and not have to watch the clock to be home in time to pump.I have only had one issue so far which was the pump flooding due to an overactive let down. I struggled to find anything online to help, but on contacting Elvie direct I received a very swift response with advice for draining the pump. I also discovered (using a breastfeeding technique for managing a fast letdown) that reclining slightly can also help to prevent the pump flooding too much. This has alleviated any fears I had of leaks in public! I have been telling everyone who will listen how much I love this pump! I genuinely think I will be able to exclusively express for months to come because of the freedom the Elvie gives you to stick to a pumping schedule without having to be at home. Yes it does have a price tag in excess of some of the high quality electric pumps, but I definitely think it is worth every penny.

I found Elvie while researching alternatives to the Willow. I couldn’t stomach buying and wasting the Willow pump bags so I waited for the Elvie to be in stock and bought it a few months before my due date. I’m now 5 weeks pp and I use my pump at least once a day to build up a supply of milk to store. Suction is strong and comfortable. Pros: + Portability - I have pumped driving, riding in a car, cooking, folding laundry, walking, and feeding my baby on the other breast. As long as I don’t bend over past 90 degrees, I can pump whenever, wherever. The USB charging cords enable me to charge the pumps on my computer or in the car. + Convenience - As long as the pods are charged and clean, you can pump on a whim. There have been several occasions when I realize I’m full and the baby is asleep. There’s no set up and I’ve pumped in every type of bra with success. You can use the pumps with or without the app. Once I’m finished pumping, i dump the milk from the pump directly into a Kiinde bag to store or bottle for immediate use. The built in spout on the bottle lid has enabled me to do this while riding in a car without spilling a drop. The bottles come with lids so you could keep the milk In their containers if you had to. + Easy to clean - This pump has very few pieces and they are simple to clean and reassemble. On the road, I use Medela wipes and at home I sanitize the washable parts with boiling water and the Oxo bottle cleaning kits. There are no small parts that you can’t thoroughly clean and putting the pump back together is simple. Cons:- Pumps heat up - I checked with customer service and they said that’s normal but it was concerning initially. - Leaks - if you don’t get a good seal, you may leak while pumping. Wear a bra without an underwire and enough space to fit the pump. It takes some practice to fit it well. - Clunky App - the app sometimes struggles to capture the volume of milk and it feels a lot less developed than the pump itself. I find myself increasingly using the pump without the app. - Price - It’s expensive. It’s well worth the cost but it was painful buying this pump out of pocket. I’m glad to see increasing acceptance by insurance companies.

I bought my Elvie a few weeks ago. I was very undecided before I purchased it as the cost was quite a big factor to consider. I’d read reviews and seen people saying parts weren’t working etc. So I was naturally cautious. Since I’ve been using my Elvie I’ve pumped around 3-4 times a day and my freezer stash is building well! It’s so much easier and better than my previous Tommee Tippee electric pump which I hardly used as I just didn’t have time to sit and be stuck to a plug or tube when I had a newborn. The parts are so easy to clean and assemble, I just need to get into a better habit of putting it on charge, it usually lasts for the 3-4 pumps a day so charging it in the evening is proving more convenient for me.Actually putting the Elvie on takes some practice. I usually put the shield on first and then the main pump on after. Sometimes it takes a couple of times to get it in the right position. Another thing I’m not as keen on is what it looks like under clothes. People have said they can pump at work and in public etc but I look ridiculous. Wonky boobs! I’m not blessed with a big chest so it looks a little silly and not sure how I would feel doing it in public. One other point I’ll make is that I don’t feel like I can nurse and pump sitting comfortably on the sofa as it feels like I need to be sat up to keep the bottle upright. Also it may be just that I need to adjust my bra strap but it comes away from my breast at the top sometimes which I think affects pumping. It’s definitely better when I hold it in place with my hand. The app is good! It’s great to see how much you’ve pumped over the day. I don’t tend to trust the volume indicator as it’s often wrong / takes a while to give you a measurement. Although it’s not a problem as you can just edit it yourself in the app after. Overall I LOVE my Elvie. There is no way I would have pumped this much without it. It has its niggles but it’s worth it. I don’t think I’d fork out for the double unless I was exclusively pumping. It’s easy enough to use one and just swap.

I purchased the Elvie about three weeks ago and so far I love it. General points as below: 1. I was concerned about suction/power given all of the other reviews I read, but find the Elvie to be more than enough for me. I also have the spectra 1 which I use on mid range settings and am able to pump more milk with the Elvie. 2. I love the convenience for use when travelling. Although I have yet to master putting the units on without a mirror so not as easy to 'pop on' as shown in a lot of the advertising. 3. I haven't experienced any leakage, although I haven't really attempted to test this by lying down or anything similar. I can go about my business at my desk, in the car or around the house and this suits me perfectly.4.The main issues I have found are generally related to the app, which I knew going into the purchase but I felt that the app would be updated as Elvie received real life feedback from users. Some key things - - There is nothing that shows you what settings you are on, so hard to go back to what you had had success with in a previous sessions. - The status tab is never accurate, but it does stop when the cups are getting close to full. - It would be awesome if in the future they added the ability to see the status of your pump when in locked screen, as it is you have to unlock your phone and go back into the app to see where you're at. I would love to be able to see my pump time and *estimated* volume at a glance. - It would be great if there was some way to view details of your history consolidated - like in general you pump 4-6oz during you 4:00pm session, or something similar. I hope this helps some of the pumping moms out there! I know I personally went into the abyss of reviews and opinions when deciding which hands free pump was best for me. Ultimately it came down to the fact that I didn't want to incur the extra cost or waste of using single use bags for every pumping session, so the Elvie was the choice for me.

After debating for a few weeks and feeling so down about not being able to pump as much as I wanted I finally decided to get the Elvie. I was using a traditional pump and as soon as I would get everything set up and ready to go my son would cry and I would have to stop pumping. I was getting depressed sitting there attached to the wall especially since I wanted to spend time with him-not pumping. The price of Elvie was what kept me from buying it sooner but I bit the bullet once I realized I needed to get a solid supply stash going and that it just wasn’t going to happen traditionally. I’m home alone during the day with my son (maternity leave) so having someone help me out with him for essential pumping sessions just wasn’t happening.I LOVE the Elvie and am so glad I got it. My output is the same as the traditional pump and I have FREEDOM. I can eat lunch! And breakfast! And play with my son and do tummy time. And clean up stuff. My son isn’t the best napper either so it helped when he wouldn’t “give me the time” per say to pump. It’s really made the end of my maternity so much more enjoyable. So far I have about 60oz in the freezer. I pump between most feedings and usually get two ounces total. A couple of those a day and I freeze it and start again the next day. It’s easy to put together and clean. Quiet , discrete- I will totally be pumping at my desk at work. The extra set of parts makes it so you’re not also wasting time cleaning one set. I’ve pumped driving. It’s a no brainer. It is totally worth it-for your sanity!!! Sometimes it takes a few tries to get the best suction but it always ends up working well. You will love it- I’m telling everyone I know about it. And I never write reviews but for this I felt compelled.

I started looking at wireless pumps when I gave birth to my daughter because I knew I had to go back to work once she turns 4 months and I wanted to continue breastfeeding. Just a thought of searching for so called “mother’s rooms” and which one would be vacant made me sick. So, I read the reviews for a few pumps and decided to purchase Elvie pump. The reason I choose elvie over other pumps is because it offered re-usable bottles instead of freezer bags, it was the smallest and most quiet pump, and it included charging cables for both pumps. I was afraid that it might not work for me when I read all the reviews at the official website, youtube reviews etc.but I decided to give it a try because I was determined to keep my baby on breastmilk instead of formula. It has been 6 weeks now since I had Elvie pump and I absolutely love it! The key is to find the right size for you for the nipple part of the pump. Also, I noticed that if the nipple part and the bottom bottle do not click right the pump will not suck at all, so make sure you attach bottom part first to the pump and then the nipple part. Pumping can be done in 6-10 mins and I’ve been having great output. I was so happy that I was able to prepare lunch, dinner, wash the dishes, fold the laundry all while pumping. I do not recommend bending over because the pump will read that the bottle is full of milk and it will stop pumping. I also love the fact (and this is my favorite!) that I can pump anywhere I want (car, bathroom, While walking my dog, etc) and no need to be attached to the wall. No need to to cancel any plans or option not to go places because you will always have milk for your baby. Elvie thank you for changing my breastfeeding experience!

I love this thing! Hubby and I are going on trip without the kids in a couple months and leaving all the kids behind including our baby. Honestly I bought this with LOW expectations. Especially after our middle was born and I recieved the standard "tethered to this thing like a cow" pump from the hospital and not having great results. I'd be hooked up to it for over 30 minutes and maybe get an ounce. It's a medical device without feeling like a medical device! Its sleek and cool looking, pumps like a dream, and the whole app tracking is really nice. (Although I think the app needs a bit of improvement) The first time I pumped, i got 4 ounces in under 15 minutes!! I NEVER got that much with the last pump. And I was able to walk around, use my arms without getting tangled, and I didnt feel like I was being milked. Its pretty quiet... you can talk on the phone or watch TV without it being distracting or really hearing it. The loudest it gets is during let down and it's the liquid sound. I watched a video review before purchasing this and I'm so glad it didnt discourage me. Yes, it will leak if you bend over ( you are dealing with a liquid after all) and I've leaked after not having a good seal with my nipple in the shield but once you get the hang of it, its wonderful. I put my pump on and drive to the grocery store... I wouldn't wear it in the store but that's just my preference. I can cook, and do laundry, etc without being confined by hoses and plugs. It's a time saver, oh and its dishwasher safe. The last thing I would like to mention is, it comes beautifully boxed with EXTRA PARTS!!! Whoever designed this, really thought of everything. It's worth every penny.

I purchased this one week after returning to work after having my baby. I have a traditional pump (loud, plugged in, tethered to, hands on) and made it one week using it to pump at work and knew it wasn’t going to work. I am a night shift Emergency Department nurse, and leaving the unit for 20 minutes every three hours was next to impossible. With that said, I am committed to breastfeeding for at least the first year. After a little research I found my way to Elvie. I purchased that same day, received them in less than a week and took them to work as soon as I had them. They made a world of difference for me, and providing breast milk through my son’s first year will be no problem. The pumps are truly hands free, wireless and are controlled from my phone. They are easy to assemble, disassemble, and clean. They are worn in the bra, and nobody can tell when I am pumping. They are nearly silent and are sleek— so visually, no one can tell. 75% of the time I wear them under a scrub top, but when I wear them under casual clothing, they are still basically well hidden. If the shirt is a light color, the little light of the pump shows, but even in a fitted top, they don’t cause my bust to appear any different. They take an hour or two to charge, and I get about two pump sessions out of each charge. The only negative incidents in have had was a user error: I was pumping and leaned far forward, causing some milk to spill onto my shirt. That’s been my only problem. I would recommend these to any mom that needs her hands... and if something bad happy mine, I would buy them again.

I've used this pump for about a month and because I exclusively pump every 4 hours I know this pump inside out! It is 100% worth the money for me as it has saved me time and given me my hands to do things again including being able to feed my baby with the bottle as I'm producing his next feed rather than waiting until after his feed! That means I can actually sleep when my baby sleeps rather than spending time stuck to a sofa pumping! I can also be out and about pumping, I just throw a jacket over my shoulder otherwise it looks like I have one huge boob (haha). I also produce more milk than I ever did with a standard manual/electric pump (approx 160ml every 4 hours)whilst my baby doesn't need that much I can freeze some for those days I need. My only downsides hence the 4 star is that the pump always under or over estimates how much milk I've made on the app and tells me the bottle is full when it never is so I have to keep pressing the play button. You wouldn't be able to fit in 150ml into the bottle without spilling some milk. Therefore I don't find that app that useful to be honest as I just know that around 15 mins each breast I'm done and I stop the pump. Also on a couple of occasions I have had the pump turn off for no reason (full battery) and the suction has still been on which is a little unusual.. Luckily I have managed to turn it back on fine and the suction releases. So I'm not sure about how long this pump will last for me, I just hope it's a full year! Overall I wouldn't be without it and would buy it all over again!

I’ve had this for a couple weeks now and it really is amazing! It takes practice to get the flange in position but doesn’t take too long to get that down. It’s suction is not as strong as my spectra s2 but I never used it at the highest setting so that isn’t a problem for me. I tend to have to do a breast massage most of the time either at the beginning or end of my pumping session to either get the milk flowing or empty the breast. I do wear a simple wishes hands free breastpump bra during my sessions and that helps to keep the Elvie in position when I’m doing the breast massage. I had to do that with my spectra s2 on occasion as well though. If I lean forward or back to much I’ve noticed that it’ll leak so I’m aware of my position when wearing the Elvie but I can still move/walk around and that makes pumping much less of a chore. while the pump itself is great the app could use a little work. If I power down the breast pump with out hitting “finish” on the app first, the app won’t log the session. The milk volume the app reads differs from the actual output most of the time, either reading more or less than what is in the bottle. The pumps charge quickly and get 3 20-30min pump sessions before having to recharge. I bought a double usb wall plug so I can charge them at the same time. I have not yet had an issue with the pump parts not working properly but hopefully in the future replacement parts will become more affordable as you do have to replace the parts overtime like with any breast pump. Overall amazing product!

I intended to ise Elvie for when I returned to work. I am in luxury fashion retail where it is fast pace with clients & you don't want to take extra time off the floor other than you lunch break. I had received a Spectra S1 through my insurance & initially planned to use at home. Well, even on the lowest setting the Spectra S1, I received painful milk blebs where Elvie did not at all. I am a 24mm flange and go back and forth between the lowest & second lowest settings to happily get great results each session. I wear it inside my nursing bra mostly, but also like I can pump on one side & nurse on the other at the same time. The app still has a few bugs to work out,but overall it is nice to have rather than not at all. An auto save feature that records every 30 seconds on each pump you can manually adjust or delete would be nice because sometimes you turn Elvie off, forgetting, & the wireless disconnect loses your pump session. The pump itself auto turns on to the highest pump level whether it is on the letdown mode or expression, you can easily adjust it manually, but it would be nice if you can program your pump settings without getting a little full blast surprise each pumping session. Elvie is as silent as they claim, you may only hear your milk trickle into the reservoir below if at all. It is pricey but it was a life & nipple saver literally for myself and my first baby. I do not see how women go back to work without one and why there hasn't been such a great invention one sooner.
