Somewhere, somehow... in the game developing community there is a meme going around... that games need to be a lot harder.... WHY? What tool bag of an idiot decided gamers need a hard challenge even at the easy level of a game to make it worth buying or a good review? I seriously LOVED the original game "Dishonored"..... played it for like 400 hours (including all the DLC's) and it was amazing fun. This game not so much.... the level for stealthy play is pretty damn high even at the easy level.... I did grind thru the game once with high chaos on easy level because as it is designed that is all you can do. The story line was very good as were the characters, carrying over people from the original line (including Bully Lurk, and Dehlila) was well done. This is still a very well done game... but is does not keep a casual player coming back for more like the original did. (Which is why I gave it 4 stars). UPDATED.... since I originally purchased this gamer and started playing it... it has improved. Some of the performance issues are better, but recently the game has simply and suddenly crashed and closed during play. I have played thru this game now about 15 times, on both high chaos and for a clean hands and ghost award (no kills - never seen). The maps take some serious learning before the player ever have a chance of going thru the story with out a big body count. Emily's powers are awesome and much more useful in this game than Corvo's are / were. This game (and it's previous version) is STILL better than 99 percent of the first person shooter / stealth games made in the last decade. This game is both fun and challenging to play, with a logical story line.

If you played the first Dishonored then this will feel very familiar to you. I find overall that I can pretty much complete everything by simply sneaking around and using blink - much as I did in the first game (with some other abilities thrown in on occasion just for variety). This is an evolution in gameplay (not a dramatic revolution) although there are some nice improvements overall:> Graphics have been enhanced as you would expect from the previous installment.> There are new enhancements to abilities if you're playing as Corvo (and entirely new abilities if you're playing as Emily.)> The world of Karnaca is brighter than the dark, gritty world of the first game.> The levels are generally much larger than they were in the first game with lots to explore - but levels are still linear overall. This is not an open world game which would allow you to find quests and complete them at your leisure.Personally, I enjoy the game quite a bit, but even so I'll get bored if I play it for a long time. I'll typically do a level or two at a sitting and come back later. Of course, I'm a bit of a completionist so I'm typically exploring every nook and cranny of each level which can take quite a while given the size of the levels.

This was a fair improvement on the sequel that did a decent job of carrying on the story. Some of it felt repetitive - rat swarms have not become blood flies, Corvo and Emily have pretty much the same powers (at least in effect) and there is a bit of a rinse-and-repeat feel to some missions - but it gives you a good few hours of solid single-player campaign. It's on at the moment for £10 - so if you liked the original, think this looks good or just want to try it then please go for it. It has a distinct art style and gameplay mechanics and will give you a fair bit of fun.Two points I don't mind, but find irksome: 1) The army barracks use very poor quality pillows. This means all guards have very stiff necks and will only look up if need be. Therefore, you can avoid their gaze by being 2ft above them at all times. 2) The moral compass is set to 'non-fatal = good / fatal = bad'. I get that slaughtering goons is not nice, but the game gives you exploding swords and torso-ripping smoke tentacles. WTF am I supposed to non-lethally do with those?!

A sequel at its finest.-Levels are more expansive and detailed than ever before-You can choose between Emily and Corvo as playable characters, each with their own set of Void powers that can be expanded further from the last game. Each character also has their own unique dialogue depending on your actions-High chaos and low chaos choices return. Carve your way back to power or destroy your enemies from behind the scenes-Runes and bonecharms return with a twist. Bonecharms have a wider variety of effects and can now be crafted, with positive or negative effects. So far my only issues with the game is that performance is noticeably lacking on PC with a patch in the works. That, and I'm personally not a fan of Emily and Corvo's voice acting. I like what they have to say when they say it, just not necessarily how they say it. Aside from that, I certainly feel I got my money's worth. Well over 10 hours into the game killing everything in sight and I'm only halfway through the game

I already knew I'd be downloading the game via Steam, so that wasn't a problem for me... took about 6 hours. It fired up cleanly and after adjusting (down) some of the video specs (my PC is high-end i7/16gigs, etc. but my card is the minimum required - GTX 660). However, the detail, rendering, texture and resolution is still very nice - more than adequate! And, I might add being a graphic designer, I revel in the 'Steam Punk' environment. I've not run into any issues with game play or stuttering (yet), so I'm not sure what all the complaints are about. Personally, I love this game! So many choices, so much to explore... many side missions, some downright 'scary' - high replay value with each of two characters. The inhabitants are very well textured and the AI is even better than the first game. I was going to upgrade my video card, but after several hours of game play, I see no need. I ran through the new Doom and was glad to be done with it... this one, however, I'm going to savor!

I originally gave this game 1 star for the PC port, because it was a buggy mess that was largely unplayable, but the last two updates have dramatically improved performance and fixed most of the graphical bugs and frame rate issues. Now that I've been able to play it as the developers intended I can say I've enjoyed the return to Dunwall. I don't think the game does much to differentiate itself from the original, especially since the story once again involves a coup with elements of betrayal and even less intrigue than the original, but having loved the first Dishonored, I really don't mind more of the same. The updated abilities are interesting, but still feel like they're not being stretched to their true potential.Still - it's a fun game with deep replayability and more excellent lore to dig through in the Dishonored universe.

I can't stand paying $50 or even $60 for a new game or to pre-order a game only to find out later that everyone agrees it isn't such a great game. So I never do that. I also just don't want to pay full price for games. I like money. SO, I usually snag games a while after they have been released. This package deal is super-sweet and I couldn't be happier. Under 15 smackers to the door...This Dishonored 2 Limited Edition comes with a single DVD with about 8GB of data, but only loads about 4.5GB from the disc when installing through Steam. It then proceeds to download about 30GB more.Like others have mentioned, my specific copy also came with the Dishonored Definitive Edition and Imperial Assassin's Pack DLC via a key code included.I activated it on Steam without incident.

On the performance side, the graphics of the game are OK. Don't expect Battlefield 1 quality. I have a 1440P monitor, a GTX 1080, 16GB of RAM and an i7 6700 CPU. The game for me runs smoothly at over 60FPS with everything maxed out.On the gameplay side is where things get more interesting. You get to choose from two different characters. Both of them have different powers and the powers are very interesting and fun to use. These powers give you so much freedom to approach every situation......you just don't see this level of freedom in games. The fact that there are two characters with different powers add replay value to the game.Totally worth the money. Enjoy!

Great game. I loved the original Dishonored and had been anxiously awaiting this one. Beautiful graphics, good story, and each area/chapter is different and offers different challenges. As with the last game, you can play it as a stealth game or go for the kill. The ability to play as either Corvo or Emily also increases the re-playability because they have different powers and abilities.I am playing this on a ROG laptop with a GTX960m and have had none of the video problems I've seen some reviewers complain about. When I replay, I may tweak a couple of settings but I can't complain at all about performance.

Awesome Game!My only issue is that while this came on a DVD and is a steam supported game it took forever to install from the disc. I guess I'm spoiled by digital buys, but the digital copy wasn't on sale while the physical one was... Again... took forever to download from the disc, would rather it have downloaded entirely from Steam as that would have been far faster than my Disc drive... which is a bit odd now-a-days but hey, when you have 200mbps download it's just the faster option.Came with some Extra DLC codes, which was nice actually! Who knows, maybe I'll buy physical copies of games again.

Fantastic sequel to the Dishonored series. Not perfect, but just about everything I wanted to see in this sequel. One warning: This game was not well optimized at launch. Hopefully patches will sort this out.Im running a high end gaming computer (4770K I7, 1080 GT, 16G Ram) and I was able to get it working well (80+ FPS) on Ultra settings by setting its CPU priority to High (it is set at Low by default for some reason, which KILLS performance otherwise). If you have a mid-range power computer I would research patch updates and other user notes if you can run this game before you buy.

I had read about the early PC problems- luckily I'm patient and cheap, so when this popped up on sale I grabbed it, having enjoyed the first one. With some tweaking it plays beautifully on my GTX 950- would probably look even better if I wasn't obsessed with eliminating aliasing so much. I'm about halfway through and enjoying. I only purchased this non-digital because of the deal I saw- disc install nowadays is kind of useless as steam had to download 90% of it. But hey the package art flips to become a mini-poster. :)

The game plays excellent so far and I have about the minimum PC requirements. i5, 8 gig ram, and last year upgraded to Geforce GTX 960 for Witcher 3. No issues at all with the game, loads quick, I don't have a tracking for FPS but it's fast enough I see no lag to the visible eye. I was concerned from the bad reviews but either it's been patched or those complaining don't even have the minimum requirements. I am 1/2 way through my first run, I'll update this when I finish but so far it's great!

Very fun and polished game. If you enjoyed Dishonored, you will enjoy this one. The skills and concept are pretty much the same with some tweaks and additions that make it really fun. I love that you can play as Emily or Corvo, who have slightly different powers to develop. It definitely has potential for multiple play-throughs as you can choose either character and high or low chaos which affect the world as you play. Most missions have multiple options for completing. Highly enjoyable.
