This speaker performs well for its size, however I do not think it's worth 100$ which is the current price. I have a 30$ Sentey bluetooth speaker that produces similar sounds as this one. I do think the FRee has a 'fuller' sound, and it will definitely go louder than the Sentey. My issue with the FRee is the price. To me, it just falls short of its value. As they usually do, I'm sure prices will fall as this stays on the market longer and until then, I would maybe hold off. If it drops to 80 or 70$, I would recommend it. It's just the fact that there are bluetooth speakers out there that are the same price or cheaper and just sound a little better and have more features.I understand this speaker has some things going for it, but some are also gimmicks too. It's a solid outdoor speaker (being as its splash proof), however the 'Loud' button is unappealing to me. It essentially raises the default volume of the speaker, but seems to not raise the bass at all. So, you just end up getting a more 'tinny' sound than you had before, with more pronounced highs and mids, and no enhancement to bass. I prefer leaving it off, as the sound produced is much more full and balanced. I can understand if you were in a loud party setting and needed just a bit extra sound, but in my opinion it's standard sound mode is loud enough for any setting. Actually, leaving it in its standard sound mode actually has pretty decent bass. It's not earth shattering or ground shaking, but it's noticeable and satisfying to me.I don't consider myself an audiophile, but I do know good sound when I hear it. My dad has a Bose Soundlink II, and that thing is tremendous. Albeit for 300$... However, it over accentuates bass. The Sound Blaster FRee is a solid speaker. I like it's build quality, from its matte finish, and light weight feel, to its ability to stand both upright and lay down horizontally based on where you need it. It's sound is pretty good; it will get loud (even without the button) with good highs, and solid lows. The mids can sometimes be a bit too noticeable, but an EQ is almost always necessary with bluetooth speakers anyway, so you can adjust that as you see fit.At the end of the day, I really like this little guy. However, I'm wrestling with what I should do... Return it and get the 75$ JBL Flip 2, or stick it out and see if it grows on me a little more? Not sure yet. I will say, I just don't think there is enough here to justify the 100$ price tag. I say if the price lowers, jump on it. Until then, it might be best to wait.

Kindly sent to me for review this is a good looking Bluetooth speaker that offers a wide range of connectivity options. It comes in black or white (you'll see the white option in the video review) and it looks great. It's made from plastic so doesn't have the premium feel of some speakers, but still looks good in either position, it can lie horizontally or stand vertically.Where the FRee differs from other Bluetooth speakers is in the range of connectivity options, as well as Bluetooth you have an aux in, USB (which can be used with a PC/Laptop) and a microSD card slot, meaning you don't need to connect this to anything to play music. The microSD option is especially handy if you want to listen to music but don't want to drain your phones battery. It's compact design makes it ideal to carry around and it's IPX4 certification means it'll survive the odd splash if out and about or in the kitchen.Sound quality is fairly good, the FRee can easily fill a room with music and, if connected to your mobile, will interrupt the music if you get an incoming call. The Sound Blaster marketing team say it has a deep bass, but compared to other speakers this didn't seem to be the case, however it has a respectable sound that would be perfect for a student room or when travelling around.Good all round speaker that offers a great range of connectivity options.

I bought the Sound Blaster Free speaker for my bike use because I ride long distance up and down the Sands and the San Gabriel River trails. I have used Bose ear buds but at time they could be dangerous in blocking out street noises. After charging for about 3 hours, I secured it in the bottle holder and took off. After 6 hours on bump roads, it was still going strong. I am impressed. The sound quality is great, not quite as good as my Bose Soundlink and Sound Blaster Roar 2 speakers. But then the Bose is less versatile with no TF card support and much more expensive. The Roar 2 has TF support and richer sound but it is bulkier. I believe the TF card is a “must” for modern speakers.Imagine you can store your entire music library onto a tiny card and play the songs at random or continuously for hours and hours. How could Bose, UE, JBL and Sony have missed it? In addition, TF sound is far better than Bluetooth that distorts music and makes them “mushy”.The Sound Blaster Free speaker is a great versatile speaker for both indoor and outdoor use. I am happy to have bought it “used” in Amazon for $55.
