This is my favourite rum brand - Brugal - and the Extra Viejo variant is gorgeous! I'd recommend it with lots of ice, crushed lime and some 7-Up/ Sprite....lovely drink. Brugal is the number 1 rum in the caribbean and outsells the other brands by miles. I have visited the Dominican Republic and you see it everywhere!! Definitely worth it...

Nectar from the Gods. A convert to this rum since a holiday in Dom Rep, where it is so cheap compared to the U.K. price.Just neat with ice and it slides down, but just as a special treat. Ordinary Brugal Rum ( now available in some High Street Stores) with Diet Sprite forms the basis of a perfect Santo Libre.

I have bought this on a couple of occasions since visiting the Dominican Republic and always by this rum when I can get it.
