Wasn't sure about this purchase as it looks like a toy, it's sized like a toy and my 3 years old loves it already! Noticed that it's not for kids after his playroom started to look like the scene from The Saw series. However, the finish is robust and the action is professional... To be precise, this is not a tool for John-the-Butcher from the workshop around the corner. It is not powerful like your angle grinder. Regardless of the power it makes the job done with revs per minute which are 3+ times higher than your regular 115mm grinder discs. You need a common sense to operate it, you have it, or you don't. Comes with diamond disc - it's like a laser slicer! It makes half noise of your vacuum cleaner, literally you cannot say that your fingertips are gone until you'll notice staining spray on the wall. Cutting bolts, sheet metal, rods, thick cardboard, plastics. Unfortunately Bosch messed up with lack of genuine accessories - precisely Roloc adapter which is a must and can be purchased on eBay. The best and most amazing function comes with aforementioned adapter i'm afraid - automotive bodywork repairs. Grinding off the weld beads is immaculate and silent, SILENT!!! (brushless)... Same as the paint stripping - simply rapid. Forget about air grinders. If you have Bosch 12v battery system already - this tiny thing is a must.

Very satisfying and confidence-inspiring little grinder. Firstly it's small and has limited cutting capacity due to the size, secondly as other reviewers note, the motor stalls pretty easily. But I have found I prefer a grinder stalling when the cutting disc binds than the behaviour of larger grinders, namely yanking or kicking back – it seems much safer and inspires confidence. If you just let the grinder do the work and don't force the cutting disc it cuts very well – the higher RPM roughly compensates for the smaller disc size (resulting in a similar tangential velocity at the cutting edge) and results in a comparable rate of cutting. I have also found it works very well with "roloc" type abrasives using a third-party adapter.Only real disadvantage I've found is it chews through batteries pretty quickly (unavoidable with a tool this powerful), so make sure you have several of them available.

This is an excellent tool, I use it for sharpening the lawn mower blade, it cuts chicken wire like it is not there, is fine for cutting M12 threaded rod (even thicker for occasional cuts) also works great on cutting the the ends of rusted bolts. With the diamond blade you can trim and shape tiles accurately - superb for little "notches" and other intricate shapes. The cutting disk is easy to change - there is a collar that slides up to lock motor and the included hex/allen key is used to loosen and remove the screw that holds the disk in place, takes 30 seconds to do.I have been using this for over a year and had no problems, of course it is a 75mm disk on a 10.8v tool,so don't buy it thinking it will be good for paving slabs and rsj steel beams!

This is a perfect product. Unbelievable quality. No other manufacturer makes anything like this. Parkside do an imitation of this, which I own, which broke after 1 month use.The fact this has a brushless motor too means no brushes to wear out in the motor, which in powertools, is always the first thing to go, if nothing else breaks outright.I use this every single day to cut cables, trim trunking, cut pipe, grind things down. You know you have that one tool that you actually look forward to using because it's such a pleasure to use? Also has an electronic brake so blade stops as soon as you turn it off.5 stars to bosch for a frankly amazing tool.Worth every penny.

Had it a couple of days and already paid for itself. Fitting door furniture and having to cut short handle bars. It cuts them with ease. It's also been useful for nipping off nails and screws coming through studs. I can see loads of uses for it. Probably handy for tiling too although I may buy a second one for that. It's small blade diameter and big guard do limit its maneuverability. I have thought about removing the guard, but it isn't as simple as it is in larger grinders. Bargin at the price I paid. Would highly recommend it to anyone. All the bosch 12v is superb.

As soon as i saw this i bought one ad was not disappointed i use it mostly for cutting down stainless bolts, bar and rod and it is flawless. super light very frugal on power and gets into tight spaces which an angle grinder won't fit into. usual bosch quality, the guard is movable without tools which is great, the discs last a very long time and are cheap to replace. the tool is very hard wearing and very tough, i have been hard on mine at work as o don't have a full size angle and it has stood up just fine. i cannot recommend this enough.

Bosch used to be 'hobby' level tools, but since bringing out their 'professional' range (in blue rather than green) they can compete with the best. Not cheap, but still value for money; all are well thought out and well built. This tool is a worthy addition, filling a role that most other manufacturers do not supply. It is not for heavy duty work (use an angle grinder) but for fine shaping or quick cutting off of studs, nails, etc. Like all good tools, it just works.

I like this thing a lot, I use it more than I ever thought I would, for example for cutting pipe, bolts, screws, even thick cables or plastics. It's just handy having it around all the time and not having to get the big grinder and having to find an outlet to plug it in.Another great thing is that you don't need to buy expensive proprietary grinding wheels, it accepts standard grinding wheels that can be bought cheaply in bulk.

Excellent little tool for getting into tight spots. Great addition to the tool kit if you already have the 10.8/12V Bosch batteries. Coped well with cutting floor board nails after rewiring a house and also with the carbide blade for floor boards, conduit and guttering. Do need to be careful not too overload it - remember it is only a mini-grinder! It does have temperature control and overload protection which really works.

BUT its not a powerful angle grinder - more a trim and lightweight material cutter. It does not compare to a 4" angle grinder but is really useful with the carbide blade for trimming and cutting small sections of wood, plastics or thin metal sheet. It aguments rather than replaces a normal 4" grinder. Really useful for htose jobs where a larger grinder is a bit too rough or powerful.

This is a versatile tool and I would not be without it now that I have it. Very useful in tight and awkward spaces. So much easier than having to rig up a larger tool. Perfect for accurate and detailed work on small items as it is compact, light and easy to use compared to larger corded tools.

I never knew how handy one of these could be. Now instead of getting out the hacksaw I reach for this and the job is done in a faction of the time. Cuts through 10mm stainless steel rod in seconds. It's such a handy size too, lightweight and easily manoeuvrable. Well done again Bosch!

16.6.2020

This is a great little device, very useful, very manoeuvrable and amazingly powerful but it takes much smaller discs than a 'standard' handheld grinder. This takes 76mm (or 75mm in other brands) discs, they are nowhere near as common as the slightly larger 115mm discs.

10.2.2020

Exactly what I needed for my hobby project. I can use it wherever I need, irrespective of availability of power socket. However I did need a few battery packs for cutting 1mm strinless steel. The small pack lasts about 5-10 minutes of work time on hard materials.

Bought as an alternative to a wet cutter for porcelain tiles ... chopped into a 10cm porcelain with absolutely no problem when used with a 76mm Bosch diamond edged disc. (These unfortunately cost more than larger discs for some reason, twice the price)
