Okay firstly this game has been out only a couple of days, so game time wise I've logged a good four hours on it. I've been playing Blood Bowl from the early days of the board game to the most recent versions on the PC, so I have pretty good idea of what to expect and also how it should feel.This game so far rocks, the developer Cyanide have rejigged the game in order to make it more playable for someone new to game (The first couple of attempts scared off a lot of new players) the menus are easy to navigate, the tutorial mode within the campaign easy to understand and gives a clear idea of the rules and controls. For the return coaches the game has been made more 'Fair'with the random outcome of the dice rolls depending on your view, I know it's a game that all depends on the roll of the dice; but clearly many including myself believed that the PC AI was using loaded dice. Also the return of everyone's favorite Cabal-Vision commentators Jim and Bob will make you chuckle.The downside is the lack of teams available to play, I know that this will be rectified with some DLC at some point but honestly it's a poor starting lineup (No Halflings!) The campaign although a good introduction for new players can get a bit tiresome for a seasoned coach as the opposition tactics in the early games can be predicted, but apart from that you'll be laughing when the first troll decides to munch on a goblin he was meant to throw.So the summary?Pro's-- Reworked game play means people new to franchise can learn the game much easier.-- The graphics are stunning and make you feel the every impact of every tackle.-- Just enough blood not to make this video game nasty.-- Campaign mode is surprisingly fun, the whole resurrection of the Reavers is a great concept.-- The return of Bob and Jim, and the introduction of Cabal-Vision HD is worth the price alone.Negatives-- The campaign is a bit bothersome for returning coaches looking for a challenge. (You can't do your own set-ups)-- The difficultly is questionable at all but the highest levels.-- AI tactics can be learned and exploited, they hardly change tactics or react to line changes.-- Limited number of teams to start with (I'll give the Bretonians a pass as they are the newbies) meaning no halflings..-- You get the feeling that it's not the finished product regardless of the polished nature.So yes I like this game very much, but I'd like it better if the incoming DLC actually gave us the missing teams, and let the campaign be both tutorial for the beginner or opt out for veteran coaches who want to be challenged.JB

Blood Bowl 2 is a challenging and fun tactical game based on Games Workshops original board game, which presents American football within a fantasy setting. The presentation is very tongue in cheek and there are numerous puns, mainly courtesy of the ogre and vampire pundits who "host" the game.Technically the game looks nice and is easy to control. There are few changes since the first PC version of Blood Bowl, except for minor improvements in the graphics. Annoyingly many of the races previously available are not in the basic game but have to be paid for as DLC.The game allows for a surprising amount of tactical depth, and as you play you realise why these rules have endured so long.In Blood Bowl 2 you can play a Campaign Game which introduces the rules, or friendly games which are best for trying out different teams, or design your own team and play through a league. BB2 allows for online and offline play, and the online community provides an ever increasing challenge when you are ready for it.In general the game rules are well balanced, as long as you understand the strengths and weaknesses of each team and vary your tactics accordingly. The random dice element can be very unforgiving, which is why the number of re-rolls you have becomes so important. As play develops luck on the dice usually balances out and its strategic planning that wins the day.There is a lot of fun to be had with this game, endless hours mastering the different races and challenging the AI or other human players. It can be be greatly rewarding to boast a successful side in an online league, especially when playing one of the less popular races. Madden NFL this is not, but anyone who likes American football is sure to like this lighthearted version of the game.

A few days in and happy with the game- like the usual blood bowl experience of old- they have kept faithful to the board gameplay.A couple of glitches so far where the game freezes which is frustrating and occasionally the AI team seems to wait deliberately long to start moving.....is this for reality (mimicking a real player) or does the computer really need thinking time...? (I don't think so)anyway, I don't think we need it- especially when there's the occasional freeze- it just leaves you worrying that it's crashed-these small problems aside...All that said- really great gameNot disappointedFor blood bowl fans a grreat effort

I love this, as someone who used to play the board game and understands the rules, this version is great fun, only slight problem for me is that the games can go on for well over an hour each, but it's very addictive building up your team's skills. It's turned based and very time consuming, but very rewarding when your team wins, it's like a simplified version of American Football with lots of violence and the risk of players getting killed. Great fun, great value for money.

Blood Bowl is true fantasy football...lots to be had here! Simple to pick up and play...deep strategy and all governed by the lord of Chaos! And NUFFl...if you enjoyed the board game...Games Workshop's classic...then this is for you...It's a computer game of a turn based board game and incorporates all the randomness....it's Blood Bowl you know what I mean!

Great game, that I only play in single player. The graphics are a big improvement from the original, along with the sound and game play. Each game takes approximately an hour to play, which is just fine with me. My only grumble would be the single player league system is not as clear cut as the original.

Good fun game, compared to the PC version of bloodbowl this is a huge step up. Animation is great and the campaign does a really good job of handholding a new player through the game rules.My only complaint is that the races not included will be chargeable dlc.

A really good game. Captivating with online leagues against friends or others. Create your own teams which is a nice feature however most customisation would be nice. Actual offline multilayer which is a rare missed feature nowadays. Worth a look.

So I bought the standard edition, got a standard edition disc. All 'cos I couldn't get it on PSN. Installed it, got the usual updates and started the game...It updated to the premium edition with all of the DLC. I couldn't be happier.

A great representation of the old table top game. Tough on new players but fun to learn. Definitely more for fans of the Warhammer franchise more than people with only a passing interest.

I miss the days of Brutsl Sports on the Amiga. This is more of a strategy game and I have not got time to learn it at the moment
