Blood & Truth is one of the PSVR's defining exclusives, one with some fantastic moments but that isn't without its flaws. I wouldn't call it a 'killer app' or a reason to buy the headset entirely, but it's definitely worth picking up if you're into shooting or action games and already have a PSVR.Let's get the negatives out the way: I had quite a few issues with the tracking of the move controllers in this game. It's hard to tell how much of this my set-up and how much of it is affected by the game design, but it was definitely more noticeable than in any other VR games I play. I created a lot of floor space, put the camera up high, re-calibrated all my controllers and made sure everything was fully charged but it was never perfect. When everything works, the game feels absolutely amazing - but when it doesn't, it really breaks the immersion. This leads in to my next issue. I found the game to give a weak first impression, one that left me having a bit of buyers remorse early on. The combination of the controllers not working added to the finicky reloading mechanic made the game feel clunky and not that fun. Reloading is easily the hardest part of the game as it never feels as fluid as you'd want and if not managed can get you killed in the middle of a hectic firefight. This definitely gets easier with time, but never feels as satisfying as you'd want VR to be.This is made even worse when you start using two handed rifles and especially if you try to use any scopes - unfortunately this just doesn't work well with the current hardware limitations and the fact the aim controller isn't supported. Then there's the cutscenes. The story is fine, with some well acted and captured performances but they also drag quite a bit. There are some good moments, sure, but lots that felt dull or excessive and it's a shame it wasn't all a bit tighter. There are a lot of static cutscenes between missions that don't leave many things for you to interact with (something the London Heist did well) meaning you're just sat there for long stretches with nothing to do. If the story had been better or more interactive it would have been a lot more interesting, but I often just wanted these moments to hurry up so I could get back to playing.Ok, so that sounded pretty negative. But here's the good part: Blood & Truth is some of the most fun I've had in VR for sure!Overall it feels like a more expansive version of something like Time Crisis, moving back and forth between cover spots and popping out to kill all the enemies before moving on. The levels are fairly linear, but there's enough control over movement for it to feel interesting and there are some minor diverging paths at times that allow you to find unique collectables or weapons. There are some small mini-game puzzles that break up the action nicely and the occasional climbing sections which feel surprisingly great. That plus a couple of exciting of set-pieces I won't spoil, but definitely keep the levels flowing well and left me wanting for more. There's a good selection of weapons that can be painted or upgraded that all feel unique. Some are more fun or useful than others but the choice is great. Once you get a hang of the controls you can have a bit of fun reloading - throwing a mag into the sky before catching it or just spinning pistols around your finger for some skillful flourishes. There are a couple of hand gestures and these can be comical to play around with during cutscenes or firefights - especially with spectators. The gunplay is generally satisfying, with enemies going down fairly quick, a few tougher characters (but not a lot of variety in enemy types in general) and it's quite easy to blindfire round cover as well as land precision headshots. The occasional optional stealth section gives you a chance to take enemies out quietly too if you want to do your 007 impression. The story is about 5 hours and there are unlockable weapon attachments to earn if you replay the levels. I did find the ending a little underwhelming and the game to be maybe one full mission shorter than I would have liked - but I still have to acknowledge how much of a step up this game is for VR shooters. The ending hints at either DLC or a sequel and I would love to see more content that expands upon the game's best elements. Other than the story there's a time attack mode with 5 short levels that have you hitting targets, but it feels pretty basic. There are however some free additional features coming with leaderboards and a new game+ mode though.Despite the PSVR's limitations, the game itself could have been a little more refined in it's story scenes and been a bit tighter overall. That said, it's a great PSVR game that I thoroughly enjoyed playing and will show to new people whenever I get the chance.

This game is a really nice extension of the London Heist demo that came with VR Worlds. You can see what they kept from that to build this new game! Not a bad thing, the best parts were used and the worst parts discarded.Blood & Truth is great fun and the scenes with Colin Salmon really shine, because I could watch him in anything! The rest of the cast do an alright job but they are hampered by a cliched script. The whole game is a massive cliche really! Outside of the story, the game plays really well with the Move Controllers. I only had issues with long guns (rifles) because when I put my left controller in front of the right it seemed to lose the right completely and trow the gun off.I mainly stuck to pistols and SMG's because of it. Not a deal breaker, you can use whichever gun you like! Throwing grenades was awful! They gave you plenty of practice by having you throw scrunched up paper into a basket at every opportunity, which I got quite good at, but when I finally got the grenade it limply fell out of hand and rolled by my feet! ?The game as a whole is a pretty standard affair, a 3 out of 5 I would rate it. The target practise bonus sections knock it up to a 4 because they have a lot of replay value and are great fun!

Waited a long time for this game and it's great , two nags . The characters are forgettable, boring and bland but the story is actually ok. The characters in London heist were more cartoony but at least they were fun and memorable .The game is designed to be played seated , but I like to emulate what the character is doing so if he's standing i prefer to stand in those portions . I had to reset position A lot . sometimes I would be 7 feet tall then suddenly I'm 3ft . But that's my own problem. I just think it's weird to be stood looking at characters at eye level but be seated in real life .In its best moments reminded me of time crisis and die hard 2 from die hard trilogy .Very good game .in a sequel I would prefer a more american setting , like an arnold Schwarzenegger film. This is like a british gangster film lot of bad guys in hoodies . 8/10

So if you like London Heist then you will more than likely like this game. The controls are look and click with X and O to move left and right within the limitation of the movements. There is no smooth locomotion, however with the move controllers being last gen I feel like they are utilised in an appropriate way for this game. Think rail shooter with a bit of choice. Reloading can be a bit hit and miss at times but overall it didn't impact on the immersion.I have not played it with the controller yet so I can't pass comment on that side of things. The story, graphics and set pieces look great although it can look a little pixelated at times, I would say this is one of the better PSVR games.I feel like the price point is right for what is on offer and if i knew then what I know now I would still buy this game.

Where do I begin with this game?! Absolutley blown away with the game play and the graphics...If you want to feel like an action movie hero then look no further! Strap on your heasdset and away you go.You will be picking locks, spinning guns on your fingers (yeah, you can do that), flipping the bird at some guy before you blow a hole in his face and parachuting across london before you know it!This game isn't free movement but rather, you pick a designated spot to take cover in, point and click. This massively reduces motion sickness in my opinion, so good job there.Make sure you look high and low and open every drawer for ammo and collectibles too! This is the game I was waiting for on the PSVR..Well played Sony.Would recommend to anyone who wants to feel like the action hero in a movie!

If you like guns and shooting stuff in VR this game has it, a bit short at 6 hours but for a VR title not bad at all with replayability. Not many VR games hit all the boxes but this one doesn’t disappoint the only downsides are the technology but for 1st gen VR this game is awesome. Every now and then you miss a clip to reload but it’s only natural when you have five guys firing on your position. It’s worth every penny and dare I say maybe a tad more, but don’t give them ideas.Despite the bad 2 star reviews I played start to finish with no niggles what so ever, great job by a London studio.

I love this! I was able to complete it in a weekend. I mix of it been so much fun I played it a lot and it being a shorter length game. If you played the short version London heist that came with most PSVRs a while back this is almost a copy of that, but with more guns, story, mods, and challenges. The London heist did have a puzzle solving idea used during the second mission that I would have liked to see more of in this full game, but overall the most fun I've had with my PSVR. I've not unlocked everything and I'm looking forward to getting back home to play some more of it!

This game plays fantastic with 2 move controllers. Pro tip place the camera about a 8-12 inches above head height for the most accurate tracking. Even with the movement in the game restricted to node based moving (i.e. point and click where you want to be) it's still amazingly fun to pull off all sorts gun fu (juggling mags and guns before reloading, catching grenades and throwing them back, crossing your hands over whilst firing a shot gun and a pistol). Helps the game doesn't take itself to seriously too. Definitely the most fun I've had in VR for a long time.

It's a good game for psvr, is it great... Not really. The movement takes you out of the realism of the scence with a sort of floating motion from one point to the next. This results in some motion sickness even with the added comfort more switched on. There also appears to be another problem where the whole screen moves slightly backwards and forwards like being on a boat. The set peices are good albeit a bit short. To me it doesn't have the same appeal as London Heist.

22.6.2019

Loved the control system (pre-selected teleport with one or more options), minimal to no motion sickness, great cinematic fun fights and slow-mo moments, brilliant narrative development and utilisation of Move controllers. I would say, to get the best out of the game and for the full experience, two Move controllers are a must. Blood & Truth was created by the same studio who made The London Heist - thrilling and extremely entertaining VR gaming.

Totally awesome experience of which I had no doubts. If you liked London Heist you'll love this, it's like London Heist on steroids. Great graphics and epic cinematic scenes & gameplay that puts you right in the action, which in my opinion is the whole point of VR. Buy this and experience awesomeness in VR, well done to London Studio on this as its exactly what we want in VR ??!

A British action movie starring you! This is great fun. Graphics do their job (I only have standard PS4), sound is brilliant and the tracking works really well. There are some good changes of pace which keep the game fresh and a couple of exploratory moments that don’t rely on you shooting things. When the action comes, it’s exciting.Pick this up if you have PSVR!

Well worth having in your VR library . Great game itself but the challenges are equally good (dont get the disco one though) but shooters are good . Weapons selection is fantastic and its quite a realistic game most of the time . It will immerse you . Shooting the s**t out of younger rap playing gangsters is always going to appeal to us older generation

Ordered it this morning and got it by 6pm today with Amazon prime. I was just going to play a little bit of it tonight to see what it’s like, but it is that good and addictive that I am about 2 hours into it already. The gameplay, storyline and graphics are amazing, much better than London Heist. Definitely the best vr game I’ve ever bought.

22.8.2019

Good, but feels like half a game. It has some good shooting and some nice little miniganes. As with the majority of psvr games the length is what lets it down. The story felt like it was just starting to get going and it stopped, cleat setting up for a sequel.I got it free with my psvr. No way I would pay full price for it.
