This Thermos Hammertone has a standard screw top seal and quite a small cup [no handle so the cup can get warm]. The flask is very stylish, although the metal THERMOS badge that looks so cool is actually little more than a foil sticky label so I don't know how long that will last in place. There's also a neat 'Thermos' ingraved into the cup top. The rest of the flask is solid enough with a strong finish and should last a long time. The whole flask is metal except the black plastic lining to the cup and the black plastic screw cap. The flask nominally holds 0.5L or 0.88 pints, which fills its cup five times. It weighs 340g empty, 800g full, and is 25 x 7 cm. I liked my original Thermos Hammertone flask,so I bought another - granted largely because I wanted matching ones. I use them to bring my own milk into work [as it is far cheaper than buying it in the canteen, plus the novel flask discourages pilfering and easily stores in a fridge]. This Thermos flask is also robust enough to stash in the backpack with no spillages when commuting. Using boiling water as a test, the water in the flask was still a scolding 71oC after 8 hours at room temperature - so this Thermos flask also does it's job well enough. Being small in size, the flask's best suited for keeping things hot/cold for up to ~8h. It's a good idea to rinse the flask out with hot water before adding the hot drink (or cold water with a cold drink) as it helps to maintain the temperature longer.I had a couple of old generic steel vacuum flasks that had push holes through the cap to pour out the contents, but these ended up with a real stinky smell as the complex cap mechanism was very difficult to clean inside and keep clean. The cap on this Thermos is far better as there's no internal hole for pouring with the cap on - you just loosen the cap and liquids like tea or milk flow down a groove cut into the screw thread. To pour out neatly this channel has to be aligned to the lowest point of the cap, which is a bit fiddly so I find it simpler to just remove the cap and pour. With its better cap design this Thermos flask is a doddle to keep clean and fresh smelling - and Thermos provide a detailed care/use information sheet to help. The only minor downside really with this Thermos flask is that the neat hammertone finish seems to cost a premium over the plain stainless steel or paint coated Thermos flasks of the same size and 0.5L volume [and there's the slightly tacky THERMOS badge]. It also benefits from a washing up bottle brush to scrub inside it after the likes of sour milk (boiling water seems to remove nasty niffs better than washing-up liquid). Otherwise a nice Thermos flask that's guaranteed for 5 years, and two years on with constant use my two are still looking good, so 4*.Update 2014: I use these flasks every day with milk and often the flask gets forgotten and the milk goes sour. After two years this has impregnated the little silicon 'o' ring seal with a nasty musty fungus smell and it's pretty impossible to remove (hot water, neat Fairy liquid, alcohol hand rub, rinse and left to dry in the airing cupboard works best on the O-ring). The smelly O ring is easily removed and technically could be replaced but Thermos don't supply just the silicon seal. You can however buy a replacement 0.5L stopper for £3.95 direct from Thermos UK and that includes the seal (and delivery is free) - although there is the 5 year warranty for claims. Other than the o-ring can impart the flavour a little to my tea, the 0.5L flasks still looks good after 3 years, and the smelly top is nothing like as bad as I got from flasks with the inbuilt push holes (plus I've superglued the Thermos label back on).

I was looking for a flask which was lightweight and unbreakable for whilst playing golf. This fits the bill and it does definitely keep hot water hot! To test it, I filled it up with boiling water left it outside overnight (November). the water was still hot the next morning. It also looks good too!btw - don't make the mistake i did - I bought a cheap one first. It looked similar but the flask felt warm to the touch half an hour later and the coffee was cold within an hour.I recommend this flask. If only i could buy something to fix my golf swing as effectively as this keeps drinks hot!!!!!!

I use this flask to take coffee to work, which I usually drink in the first few hours. Therefore I can't really comment on its ability to keep liquid hot for extended periods of time. However it has been built in a very practical way. The top can be used as a cup much like many other flasks but this really stands out due to the pouring mechanism. Unscrewing the top half way opens a hole in the cap from which the liquid can be directly poured. Very convenient and no spillage. One thing to point out is that the THERMOS sticker will eventually come off within a few months.

This flask is fantastic for making up baby bottles when out and about and keeps the water hot enough (not boiling but still very hot) to make up bottles of formula when needed. It is a great size to keep in a baby changing bag and I have found that it has revolutionised how I manage feeding my baby when out. I no longer rely on restaurants and cafes to provide hot water to warm a cold bottle of milk and I am completely independent (as long as I remember to make them up in enough time for them to cool down!). A great product that I would thoroughly recommend.

Looks very nice and keeps things warm for hours longer than it is stated to in the product description as long as it is sealed well. It holds enough to have about 7 lidfulls which lasts the day. I have had it for over a year now and it is really useful and fits in my bag perfectly. The cons for this are that sometimes if it is too full the contents can leak when you have screwed it closed, as well as going everywhere when using the pouring cap - however this isn't a problem if you leave a bit of room.

OK, there are a lot of rubbish thermoses out there. This isn't one of them. If you pre-heat the thermos for a few minutes with boiling water, then dump that water out and fill will whatever you want to keep warm, this thermos keeps it piping hot for hours. I took it out for a hike in the snow - freezing mountain air. Brewed the coffee at 7am, still piping hot at noon, and the last cup was still hot at 5pm when we got back. Quite incredible.

Nice flask, keeps coffee perfectly hot enough to enjoy for around 8 hours. Lid is easy to use, although using the pouring function with the stopper just loosened off seems to sometimes result in a drip running down the side of the flask. The Thermos sticker on the outside came off within a few days, but to be honest the flask probably looks smarter without it, and the Thermos logo is still stamped into the top of the lid anyway.

When I bought this product it stated "Keeps liquid 12hours Hot,24 hours cold" When it arrived it stated "8hours hot 24 hours cold" so which was it?? I made a fresh flask of coffee at 04:30 hours and at 15:30 the last of my coffee was STILL hot enough to enjoy ! Well worth what I paid and will be looking for a food flask as well in the near future.Cannot fault this product.

Although I've used it just a couple of times I have concluded that this product does exactly what it says: keeps water hot (I'm pretty sure it keeps it also cool but havent tried it so far).We use it to store hot water for baby food and I was amazed to see that the water was still hot after like 8 hours of storage.Very satisfied, would recommend it.

Note: After use some stains can appear from tea & perhaps coffee too. They come off easily with a little warm water + bicarbonate of soda + encouraging with a gentle rub of a bottle brush (if the stain has been left there too long, it's harder, if not impossible to remove). After experiencing problems with the

My husband likes the flask very much as it means he always has a hot drink to hand when working on his allotment. The flask seems pretty robust and is easy to clean as well. It arrived very soon after ordering and was very well packaged. I would recommend this flask to anyone who spends much time out of doors.

My record with flasks is not good. Most broke or leaked or would not hold heat. This flask so far has ticked all the boxes. It provides two cups of piping hot coffee hours later. The pouring mechanism is great and easy to clean, not like the popper type stoppers, and it has a very useful guarantee

This flask does exactly what it is meant to. It keeps liquids hot for hours and it is a great size if you are looking for something slimline. Not too keen on drinking out of the plastic cup on top as cannot seem to get rid of the plastic smell/taste. Apart from that it is a great product.

For such a small flask it is superb. Stays Very hot for Hours, as long as you temp the flask properly. best small flask i have ever owned. Still hot enough to brew tea after and well over 6 hours. Lid tightens and seals very well with no spills or leaks. Enough said really buy one.

Excellent gift which arrived well on time and very well packaged for maximum protection during transit. This flask is ideal for that piping hot cup of coffee or tea whilst watching sport or sitting waiting for that bite when fishing.Fully recommend this stainless steel flask.
