I hoped this new design of a longer lasting heat retention smaller Thermos flasks, would work as well as the larger ones do.It doesn't.PRO'S....I can get my hands round this lightweight flask,& holds 2 cup/mug fulls of liquid.Much easier & quicker to pour without risk of spillage,by undoing the lid to pour.I use a rod to push a T towel inside,& turn as pull the towel out holding the T towel around the wooden spoon handle , to dry well. The water stays hot far better in flasks above 500 ml sizes. However,it's fine for a hot drink left overnight,in the morning.CON'S...Probably not hot enough for a cup of tea.The pouring nozzles are difficult to clean,& weaken the seal with use.I only use for hot water.Living in a high limescale water supply area ,remove the after taste, if vinegar covers in the bottom of a well drained flask, for 3 mins +.Poured back in the bottle to reuse until too diluted..Rinsed well,to remove any vinegar & after taste of chlorine & limescale.I'm unable to tolerate limescale & chlorine so Aqua filter all drinking water,& boil to drink without ill effects .It doesn't dry properly if left overnight upside down to dry.The 1 litre + volume flasks keep water really hot for the full time, but not this one.Still useable for my purposes.I have a few of these flasks as are the best there is.Shame they are not made in the UK anymore.

I read other reviews before purchasing this where people had said that after 24 hours, their coffee was still too hot to drink. Pretty much why I bought the thing. Have to say, I've not been disappointed. Warm it through with boiling water for 5 minutes first before adding your coffee and sure enough, several hours later you are sure to burn your tongue...as I do, pretty much every time. The sealable poury spout thing is genius, no leaks, no mess. It just works.Only complaint is I wish I'd bought a larger model. This flask takes 3-4 cups worth of Dolce Gusto Mocha/Latte/Cappuccino etc which just means that where ever I go, I end up sharing with 3-4 other people. Not Thermos'fault I grant you.If you want a decent looking flask that just does all you'd hope, you could certainly do worse than this model.

This is not a bad flask but should keep liquids hot for longer than it does. It says 24 hour *Hot* on the box. There is no way at all that this flask keeps your drink hot for 24 hours. I think it is perfectly acceptable up to eight hours though, 10 at a push.I did find a small square of aluminium foil quadrupled and wrapped nice and tightly over the pouring spout kept it warmer for longer. The weak point, that the the newer model in the same thermax range, the Thermos "Ultimate", doesn't have is in the pouring spout. Once full a lot of heat seems to be lost through the top, which becomes quite warm whereas the body of the flask remains beautifully cool.To sum up a good flask, but doesn't quite live up to the spec. Although worth it if you don't want to pay the £10 extra for the Thermos Ultimate Flask.

The flask is advertised as being able to "keep hot for up to 24 hours" so I gave it a simple test. After preheating it was filled with boiling water and then placed in the fridge at 3C (to simulate winter outdoors); after 6 hrs the temperature was 76C and 12 hrs 64C (reasonable drinking temperature); didn't carry on the test for 24hrs but it seems likely that the water would only be warm and not "hot".While the flask may not seem to live up to the hype (all be it qualified hype = "up to 24hrs" and what temperature is "hot") it's a better performer than a cheaper brand I tested which yielded 62C after 6 hrs and got taken back to the shop!

I have had this for a year, it alright to clean, there the screw top which is split into to parts to make it easier to clean but you will need a toothbrush to clean the smaller parts, with a build-up of coffee or to rise and soak soon after use. Saying that the pouring feature is great, a tight seal, retains similar heat 7hr after the pour, the cap works well as a large espresso cup, the metal case does get warm so rising the flask out with hot water before you add your coffee makes a difference, it is durable but i have got little dents now, Light , compact, simple, will save you money buying coffee for sure.

Purchased for my eldest to take away on a DoE camping trip, it's not been used in great anger but did survive a 3 day camping trip amongst a group of teenagers! It's a thermos flask so you have a minimum expectation for hot things to remain hot and cold things to stay cold. It does what it should plus it's compact and light weight - it fit nice and securely in the side pouch of the rucksack and didn't come lose or fall out.The easy access flip port under the cap is excellent so you don't have to keep undoing and re-tightening the retaining lid and the whole thing cleaned up easily.

First test after purchase definitely keeps very hot for the 18 hours as promised. Great lid/screw top (which I have had before) does NOT leak and my old one must have been well over 5 years old and used every weekday and many Saturdays. A light bleach solution (I know they advise against bleach) never harmed my last one. Nothing wrong with it at all, dropped onto concrete many times! but misplaced unfortunately. So much better than the leaky cheaper ones with the push in circular top. Well worth the extra money.

We have tried just about every vacuum flask under the sun. This is by far the best at keeping drinks hot for a long time in cold weather. I normally use this for black coffee made with boiling water. Filled at 7 o'clock in the morning partly used at mid-day, and still perfect in the evening. Only disadvantage is that it's too hot to drink immediately at mid-day. I have to wait until it cools. Also drinking mug not very big so has to be filled more than once. Having said that I still would not buy any other.

I like this flask because the top opening is neither screw-on (which makes you lose heat every time you open & close it), nor push in. But a flip top which is quite modern & easier to use.It keeps the drinks hot for many hours although not boiling hot after 2 hours but still hot enough to burn your hands! ;)This colour is a rather lovely darkish blue which is unusual & classy. It’s quite large & holds 750ml.I haven’t used it for cold drinks but I’m sure it’ll work just as well.

No regrets buying this. It does exactly what it says on the .. flask! Definitely light and compact compared to my past (old school) experience of flasks and it lives pretty much up to the times specified for keeping liquids cold/hot. Only very minor note .. technically, it's 450ml not 500ml. The stopper takes up a bit of room however, 450ml is approximately 2 standard coffee mugs so happy happy!

This flask kept the liquid hot from about 6.30am to lunchtime. If I had heated the flask first then it would have stayed hotter for longer. 500ml is the perfect size for two mugs of beverage .. it is light and also sturdy .... I know its strong because I have dropped it once and banged it on things a few times .... and it has survived unscathed. The pouring lip dismantles for easy cleaning.

Keeps stuff hot for a long time. (presumably cold too)I'd really like a simple thermos _without_ a 'through the lid' pour mechanism - it's both more compact, and easier to clean. However, these don't seem to be available. The pour mechanism is lots easier to clean than some past flasks from Thermos. The box shot makes the flask appear curved, it's not. It's a simple cylinder.Works well.

I swim in the winter and I need a flask which keeps liquids really hot and this flask really delivers. Many other cheaper flasks of this size deliver lukewarm liquid and there is no point having one. This little flask keeps liquids really hot for long periods of time. I take it on long journeys as it is a lot cheaper than motorway service stations for a cup of coffee. A great buy.

The flask is robust and a practical size. It is very efficient, keeping drinks hot for most of the day, combined with a good pouring mechanism. However, this is also the one weakness in that the flip button doesn't return to form a perfect seal, so that if you don't keep the flask upright after the first pour, there is slight leakage into the cap - hence 4 stars rather than 5.

Small and compact. Bought for my husband for his fishing ventures. Tested the product and water was still passably hot after 24 hours but did not test the temperature.I like the lid pouring feature, surprising as I prefer "solid" unscrew lids. Some heat is lost through the lid mind so may be something for thermos to look at in the future.
