I purchased a Thermos Work 1.2L and decided to test it.The flask is rated as a 24 hour keep hot flask. I pre-warmed it with boiling water and then filled it to the top with boiling water from a kettle. I attached the stopper and twisted the cup firmly on the top. I placed It on a window ledge for 24 hours and periodically turned it upside down. After 24 hours the flask had scalding hot water which was then used to make a pot of tea which brewed for 5 mins and then produced a perfectly hot mug of tea with 4°C milk added. There was no leakage from the flask during this time. An excellent result.I then repeated the process leaving the flask for 48 hours on a windowsill (20°C)and turning it periodically. After 48 hours the water was very hot but not scalding. I used half the flask of water to make a pot of tea and resealed the flask. The pot stood for 5 min and had milk 4°C added. It produced a hot cup of tea. There was no leakage from the flask during this period. An excellent result. After 54 hours I used the final part of the water in the flask to make a pot of tea, which stood for 5 mins and had milk added 4°C. It produced a warm cup of tea. No leakage from the flask occurred during this period though it was stored upside down on its head. An excellent result.I consider this an excellent product which will keep food significantly hot for 48-hour periods. It’s strong robust stainless steel design should give many years service. 1.2 L will give five mugs of tea or coffee. It weighs about 800 g empty or 2 kg when full.An absolutely excellent addition for mountaineers, camping, lorry drivers, sailors, lifeboatmen, pilots, fishermen, factory workers or anybody requiring warm sustenance after many hours in a cold environment. It’s neck opening of one and a half inches will allow a very hot stew with thumb sized pieces of meat or vegetables to be poured without any difficulty well after 24 hours and will still be piping hot.

I ride a motorbike for work and often find myself out in the Great British weather in need of a good cup of tea ( not something you pay £1 for in a polystyrene cup!). So I take a drink with me in a flask. Now, I have tried many flasks in my time all with the same problem. The first cup may be hot but the second and third get gradually colder through the day as the flask empties. So to the Thermos Work flask. This is probably larger than I would normally buy as it is a little big for my bike but it had a good review and with a bit of clever packing it does fit so I paid the money and ordered it.Pre heat with boiling water and pour my tea in, set for the day. First cup as hot as just pouring out the kettle..A few hours later, still as hot. End of the day still hot and I mean HOT.I have even used it day later (because I didn't get around to drinking any one day and forgot to remake it) it was still hot enough to drink. In short this is an excellent vessel for keeping fluids hot. It says you can keep cold as well. I haven't tried it but see no reason why it wouldn't.The rugged design keeps it from getting dented and the cup is a good size so you don't always need to refillThe down side is that there is only one cup but then why would I want to share!

My experience of this Thermos 1.2L flask is as follows:1. Liquid remains hot for around 5 hours and warm enough to drink for about 15 hours if unopened. The only heat escape is a small amount of conduction through the tough plastic screw-stopper2. If opened a couple of times and some of the liquid is displaced by cold air, the remaining drink remains warm for about 4 hours but no longer (depending on the amount poured out and for how long the stopper was unscrewed)3. It’s lightweight & portable, and at the same time tough & resilient4. On the minus side, it’s a bit priceyA few reviewers claim their flasks don’t keep the liquid hot or that they work for a while and then stop working. The only reason for this can be that the vacuum-seal has gone, obviously a manufacturing fault or inconsistent manufacturing quality affecting a minority of the flasks, or else they may have been dropped/violently knocked at the premises of the retail seller prior to being shipped to these buyers.Current flasks like this Thermos are a big improvement on the old fragile glass-lined flasks of the 1980s which would always shatter if dropped even once. It’s not a cheap/budget item however, but you usually get what you pay for.

There were so many exultant reviews of this flask that I suspected the Thermos marketing department had been slaving over a hot keyboard. Even so, I ordered the Thermos TherMax Work Series 1.2 litre steel flask: It really does keep drinks hot for a long time, unlike the other two flasks I have had to chuck out.To test it, I made a flaskful of tea without milk (I added cold milk to the mug when I poured it out, if you are interested). After 3 hours, the tea was as if newly made. After 12 hours, it was as if new tea had just been left cooling in the mug for a couple of minutes i.e. definitely perfectly drinkable and tasty. The difference was barely discernible from the 3-hour-old tea. After 23 hours,it was just the acceptable side of lukewarm. It was not great but better than other flasks perform after about 4 or 5 hours -- and remember, I had opened the flask a couple of times by then and poured some tea out.The flask is dear but worth it in my opinion. It will soon pay for itself in terms of motorway service station refreshments abandoned. The flask must not be immersed in water during washing. It is made in China.

This flask is simply brilliant! It holds more than enough tea to keep you going through the day and it kept mine piping hot for well over 12 hours. I was shocked at how long my drinks were hot for.in my mind it is reasonably priced considering the quality of flask you are getting. It is pretty chunky though so if you are looking for something for short car journeys or for your desk at work then I would get something smaller. It certainly won't fit in your cars drinks holders that's for sure!I took it on a long walk and it just about fit in my mesh pocket on my bag (was a VERY tight fit) and with drink it did add a fair bit of weight. It does have a carry handle though and to be honest it isn't heavy enough to worry about really. The seal is tight and won't leak any fluid so if it rolls around you can be safe in the knowledge that your bags in the boot won't be covered in tea or soup!I can thoroughly recommend this flask and it does the job perfectly. It keeps your drinks hot for far longer than you will ever need it to.

As a traveling salesman, this has become an essential part of my kit bag. Now when I'm early for meetings or stopping for a break on a long drive, I have piping hot coffee whenever I need.I've tested this thermos pretty much every work day for around two months now... it is well build and has never leaked. I've even accidentally left it in my car overnight, half full, in winter... but still the following day the coffee was perfectly hot enough to drink, despite needing the heating on full for the first 20 mins just to feel my fingers! It's not a particularly attractive design and the blue-ish tinge is actually kind of ugly. It also doesn't have anywhere to store milk in the screw in top, like some of the bigger (but plastic) thermos flasks I've used in the past. So I've had to buy a very small separate unit to keep milk in. However for the main purpose I want it for... i.e. keeping my coffee piping hot, I've never used anything better.Absolutely love this Thermos and happy to recommend.

Im not going to lie to you, Ive been pretty verbal about this product to my fellow work colleagues. I think they may have got irritated by it in fact. But who's asking me for a hot coffee at 15:30 because theirs has gone cold? You've guessed it, and Im sat there with a smug grin slapped all over my chevy chase. We are a large team of tree surgeons that, amongst other things work on Dartmoor through the winter, and this flask is quite simply the balls. I don't pre-heat it at all, and I include milk always. I make it at 05:30am and its still 'burny' hot at 16:00. I love it, loads of it as well (1.2ltrs is about 6-7 cups). If that has not convinced you to buy one, then consider this,I have just spent 20 mins of my precious free time writing this review, when and I bought this flask over 3 months ago. Its an un-healthy and over enthusiastic relationship to have with a flask, but it is a hot one.

I have a variety of vacuum flasks to suit particular activities. I already had two Thermos Work flasks which are excellent. We needed a third large flask and decided to try the Stanley.I have used the Stanley for many months now and my opinion is that the Thermos is superior.Preheating both flasks and refilling with boiling water, the Thermos will hold temperature near boiling for fully 24 hours if unopened. The Stanley last only 12-14 hours.A similar test but this time removing a mug of water after 5 hours, revealed that when the flasks were opened after 14 hours, The Thermos was still too hot to drink and would still make a cup of tea whereas the Stanley was cool.Using the last mentioned procedure, the flasks were left for 24 hours. The Thermos was still very warm, just drinkable but the Stanley was stone cold.

So far, this flask has surpassed any other versions I have owned over the years regarding heat retention. It is the first flask I have had to careful emptying after 24 hours as the water is still very hot, summer or winter. I preheat with boiling water first thing in the morning and empty and refill with more boiling water before heading out. It has never leaked or let me down. It has had more than it's fair share of knocks and bumps over the years in the back of the van, car or on the job.The build quality, appearance and performance totally outclass any previous flasks I have owned, making this flask well worth the extra money.I bought a couple of stainless steel mugs (easier to keep)to go along with the flask as the cup with the flask is plastic lined.I've had this flask for 4 years now and still going strong.

These flasks cost a bit more, but the handle and rubberisation are good, they're a good size (don't believe 1.2 litres though; that's the capacity to the brim and you have to put the stopper in), and they really do keep your coffee piping hot all day. We'd had this flask for four years when the vacuum mysteriously failed and it stopped keeping drinks warm. We use it regularly at home and occasionally to avoid the dreaded service-station café prices. When I looked around for alternatives I noticed that this flask has a five year warranty -- Thermos's website has details of how to claim under the warranty. So I packed it up and sent it to Thermos, together with my order details and a letter explaining that the vacuum had failed (thanks Amazon for making these easy to find!). A week later I have a new replacement flask.

After going through so many vacuum flasks, I have finally found THE ONE. The glass-lined flasks were quite cheap and they kept the heat in, but I've never managed to keep one in one piece for more than a week. Eventually I forget my flask is in my bag and I throw my bag onto the passenger seat, and disaster ensues; flask a mass of broken glass, tea everywhere, papers ruined. So I buy a flask with a metal lining. The flask survives, but he lid leaks and the tea stays hot for approximately half an hour. This time I carried out thorough research on the internet. Time well spent. This flask:- Stays piping hot all day (I've even poured my self a drink from it when I return home from work.)- Is surrounded by protective rubber bumpers- Is metal inside so it will not break.Thank you Thermos, from, the bottom of my mug

I've been looking for a flask to replace my previous excellent one that got chucked on a bonfire by mistake. That one held a lot of fluid AND kept it hot all day despite being out fishing in the winter (though to be fair by the evening the coffee had cooled somewhat). Other flasks since then have proved useless, contents cold by lunchtime. This flask however is tops. Holds just about enough to see me through the day. The tall thin cup means the reduced surface area of the liqiuid in the cup keeps it hotter for longer. Most importantly the drink in the flask stays hot right till the end of the day.Not blisteringly hot of course but hot enough for the coffee to still be pleasant.Well satisfied that I have found a good replacement for my previous excellent flask after some frustrating and expensive searching.

This item looks and is really robust, both the material and the very good rubber around, and the 10 years warranty is the proof Thermos is sure about the quality. It's leak-proof and easy to pour into the cup, just unscrew slightly the plug. It keeps my tea super-hot for many hours, but I don't have exact data because I haven't done any specific test in different temperatures. Could be interesting to do.The only negative point I can make could be the bulky size, at least for some people, but of course this is a work series thermos and is not conceived to be fitted in a small bag or carried around for, an example, a light trekking. However, consider that for 1.2 liter it's not much bulkier than any other thermos of the same capacity...but with this item you will have superior quality and efficiency.

This is without doubt the best flask I have had yet, no other comes close and that's even other Thermos models. This one definately steps up to the mark. I use it everyday for work and the tea I made at 6:30am is still as hot at 5:00pm and is still an acceptable temperature at 7:00pm. It is also sturdy and looks good and so far has took everything I have thrown at it. I must have spent a fortune over the years on cheaper stainless steel flasks that seem to only last weeks and gave you tea that you could christen a child with!. If looked after, this flask could last you a lifetime. I do recommend pre warming though as this makes the flask more efficient. I've had a few comments on it and Im the envy of the work now.I will probably be buried with it.

I had wanted one of these for years but never saw them in the shops. On average I would go through three or more flasks a year. My record for short useage was one day, when the flask fell out my van door and shattered internally. This really does keep your brew hotter for much much longer. It is expensive but should balance itself out in the long run.I only have one minor gripe and that is the screw top. It might just be mine but i feel it does not screw down as flush as it should. It almost looks cross threaded but it does seem to keep a thermal seal and there is no leakage. If it becomes a problem I will take it up with Thermos under warranty.Would be 10/10 but because of that its 9/10.Mudboymac
