I spent some time looking for a good mid-high range graphics card which for Nvidia was between the 2060 to 2070, and AMD was between the Vega 56 to 5700xt. I decided on the 5700.The reference style blower design for the 5700s were said to be quite hot, so people recommended to get one with an aftermarket cooler. So I decided on an Asus card as I’ve had a couple of their cards before. They have 3 models the STRIX, TUF and dual evo. From the reviews I saw the STRIX was a good card but you are paying a premium for the customisable RGB lighting, and fan header to add ever fans. I really like the ability to add extra but as I already have fan controller and don’t care about lighting I didn’t go forthis card. The TUF has had bad reviews for the cooling on the memory modules getting above 100C for the XT version so I ruled that one out. This left the dual evo which seems to have almost no reviews about the cooling. When looking I saw the evo fans where from the STRIX card not the TUF, and looking at pictures of the headsink it seem to have a section that better covered the memory modules than the TUF so I went for this card. The first card I got was faulty and had issue when using more than one screen so I sent it back. The replacement card didn’t have this issue however the memory temperature is still normally about 5-10c hotter than the GPU the maximum I have got so far is 95c using 6 case fans, not included cpu fans. This is better than the TUF and the 5700 navi card do get pretty hot,and are said to work fine at 110c junction temperature. That being said for a non XT card running at clock speeds it’s close to 100c in the winter still pretty high. The asus card are priced competitively and with their September-December cash back offer has put them about £50 lower than there main competitors. So should you get this card? If you are happy to crank up the GPU fan speed and deal with the noise, or can create good airflow in your case, and play around with underclocking and other settings for your card go for it. However if you just want to stick it in your case and forget about it may be worth looking at the other cards on the market as it may get pretty hot in the summer. For me given the price to performance ratio was good, and I don’t mind putting in the extra time to optimise the card, and as Asus has a 3year limited warranty so if it does go wrong in the summer they should replace it.p.s its seem although most components site like ebuyer and scan do have the AMD free game promotion it seems amazon does not, as I didn’t get a code with amazon, so if you really want one of those games you may want to check if the offer is available.

Bought ASUS DUAL-RX5700-O8G-EVO which is very powerful. Able to run games on ultra settings with no lag on 1080p. This card should be OK on 2k graphics on ultra, but need to upgrade my monitor.Idle temperatures around 48C, in game temperatures around 83C. Power consumption when idle 7w - 9w in game goes around 100w. Depends on the game and what settings is set to.Still waiting for the game voucher which was on ASUS web page.Edit: card runs loud and hot when gaming.Would not recommend going with this model.
