Got this to replace the old 21" HP unit I'd been using as second monitor for my iMac - a friend needed a monitor in a hurry and got the HP. It was a toss up between this Asus and a curved Samsung as my replacement - the Asus won (and was slightly cheaper into the bargain). Very impressed - sharp and good colour match to the iMac's own display (close enough for my eyes - I've a Spyder 4 to get a full calibration when/if I need it). Much better than the HP it replaced (and that had cost more when new).I can't comment on gaming or dynamic performance as I don't game and rarely watch video on my computer (and would use the default display for that, anyway).Update July 2020: I decided I needed a third monitor this week: a lot of videoconferencing and giving presentations over GoToMeeting (not my choice - I find Zoom friendlier) would be easier if I could split my viewing 3-ways. Ordered a second of these (the HDMI/DisplayPort version) - hooked up and discovered that, whilst my iMac video is capable of driving three, the available ports are not - the Thunderbolt hub can only drive one monitor, either HDMI or DisplayPort. I'd need a further Thunderbolt2 box to do it - and that's just moving into silly money. So my wife now has a two screen set up on her iMac. I'll need to replace my iMac next year (it's already 8 years old and, whilst it works fine, is beginning to fall out of Apples' support window); I'll make sure it has sufficient ports - but then it's a case of whether the Good Lady will relinquish her second monitor. She didn't really want a second one today but, once you have that luxury, it's difficult to go back to one! But my main point is that I found this monitor really goo value and bought a second after a year of use!

I bought 2 of these monitors to replace a single/smaller monitor and what a difference.Physically they are very light and very thin (the main screen), with quite a solid base "arm" that's connected to the back of the monitor -- this levers out -- the round base stand screen to the bottom of the lever arm and you can easily do this with a small screw driver, a coin or with the handy clip thats connected to the screw.Setting them up is very easy, and it's mainly to screw the bottom in and remove the protective labels. The bezel on the edges is also very slim so having the two monitors side by side -- really gives a massive window/real estate for the destop to be supplied.Connections on this monitor are as described, power, via a small transformer and VGA or HDMI.Set-up and connection very easy and once I turned my PC on again, the 1st (and 2nd screen), where automatically recrognised so no changing any settings from the PC/screen management software.I'm running these two on a Nvidia GTX 660 grapshics card -- so quite an old card by todays's standards.1st impressions both screens very sharp/clear and now a massive amount of space to run/appiclations and dock windows. This was main main reason for the purchase as my PC @ work is dual montior and if/when working at home found the productivity dropped due to having to juggle apps on the desktop.Very pleased with the buy and quality of these montiors for the price.

Amazing looking monitor.I wanted a modern looking monitor and I certainly got one.My only concerns are in the detail. I wasn't too bothered whether the monitor had speakers, the sales pitch says it doesn't but low and behold it does have a speaker or two which is fine for watching videos (by no means is this a musical treat for your ears). The images in the advertising show an almost frameless design of which was the main reason I chose this unit. As well as there being limited availability of the monitors I "liked the look of" (working from home craze probably has something to do with this). But actually there is a "frame" around the image of about 12mm on 3 sides.A bit of image trickery licence by Asus I suggest. So yes really pleased with monitor, it has speakers, but not quite the frameless edge to edge experience I was hoping. The reviews mean little either as they are on all different models and sizes and not clearly for this exact model i bought which i believe Amazon need to take a look at. (I bought the Asus 27" with the white gold bottom edge frame).ASUS VZ279QBut yes I would recommend and the 27" screen means it is great for multi windows and "working from home" with ease, without the need for setting up a second screen.

I needed to replace my old Samsung 19" monitor that was ~14 years' old. As I am not interested in playing games it is difficult to rate that particular feature, but the colour balance and screen quality is very good. I had considered the ASUS VS248HR (gaming 1ms) at a similar price point, but decided in favour of an IPS panel (~5ms). I have used someone else's VS248HR and would have been perfectly happy with that model, but for my needs (general use, browsing, images etc, viewing angles), the VZ249HE was my preferred choice. The first thing I did after plugging it in to my desktop machine, running Linux Mint (18.3, XFCE), was to calibrate it using Dispcal in conjunction with an X-rite i1Display 2 monitor calibration, which produced an excellent display. For its price I believe it is really good value, and when calibrated would be difficult to beat. The only things that I would say are its negative points which may be important for some people are: screen only tilts, no vertical adjustment; no Vesa mounting; separate power block; it does not come with an HDMI lead. For its price and quality of the display (calibrated), I think I would have had to spend a lot more to improve on this particular model.

My first IPS monitor, always used TN and VA. Colours compared to TN panels look noticibly better! Had 240hz TN panel and I don't think I will go back to TN just for fast refresh rate.Managed to overclock this Asus monitor to max 74hz but stayed on 70hz just to be safe. This might differ from panel to panel. Monitor is slim and doesnt take much room on the desk. Came with Anti-glare film on the screen (dont confuse with foil and try to peal it off when you first unbox the panel)Perfect for work, videos and photos and editing highly recommended!I may add especially good pick for single player games with great vistas and graphics!Only negative;Monitor doesn’t come with HDMI cable, panel doesn’t support Display port comes only with DVI cable in the box.

Greatest choice ever choosing this IPS monitor after days of searching 27" is the perfect size for a 1440p, 2560 x 1440p resolution looks fantastic in comparison to my previous 1080p TN 144Hz monitor. I'm using this monitor mostly for surfing the internet but also for casual gaming I rather sacrifice FPS but have an enjoyable gameplay experience. The only downside is the lack of VESA mount, stand has no height adjustment option. Decent audioVZ27AQ Specifications:27” WQHD (2560 x 1440)ASUS Eye Care technology - minimize eye fatigueResponse Time : 5ms (Gray to Gray)Signal Frequency: 60Hz - 75HzSignal Input : HDMI, D-Sub,DisplayPortStereo Speakers : 2W x 2 Stereo RMSOverall I am very happy with this monitor and would purchase again.

The screen is nice, colours look good to my untrained eye. My first one came with a stuck pixel. With my 1070ti with G-Sync compatible mode enabled at 75hz the screen would go black for 1-2 seconds every few minutes. If i put it to 60hz the issue is mostly alleviated but it still happened occasionally (maybe a couple of times per hour in certain games). This issue does not happen with G-Sync disabled at either refresh rate. This could possibly be fixed with a driver update? This monitor is not verified as G-Sync compatible though and is not advertised as such, so whatever. If you are using an AMD GPU it should hopefully work better. At this price though I would say it is a good deal if you aren'tdoing any super competitive gaming.

Buying a gaming monitor seemed like an easiest choice out of the many components needed for a good gaming set-up at, but because of the way my room is set up the sun is constantly shining on my screens making the screen unclear and probably slowly destroying it in the long run. It became a hinderance after a while and it seemed my only choice was to change my room layout. Luckily in the move to PC mid-tier gaming I needed a monitor and this really sparked my interest. It been almost a month and I want to by another one despite having two others already. The Anti-Glare is extremely strong and gaming never felt more enjoyable. Hopefully there is a 4k model for when Im able to upgrade my PC.

A great monitor for anybody wishing to boost their screen real-estate. I use mine for my MacBook Pro and it runs really smoothly. You can easily run two full a4 size windows side by side with room for side-bars etc. Great for productivity without having too much unused space.Pros:Good colour accuracy (vibrant)Very bright (adjustable)Blue light adjustment (Eye-Saver)Nice and wideCons:Lacks sharpness with small textMay appear slightly grainy when very close up(But that is acceptable since it is only 1080p)A budget monitor with a high-end aesthetic, solid construction and excellent for all round productivity.

Build quality and styling is great, it has the important IPS (in-plane switching) LCD technology giving an amazing viewing angle, it displays an absolutely perfect vivid colour picture, non glare screen, fast startup, 7 control buttons which are out of view and easily accessible and couldn't be better to use, stand is a stylish circular ring made of cast metal finished in black to suit the monitor giving a very good look and really sturdy support. I'm absolutely pleased I chose this monitor it's perfect. I can't say what it's like for gaming as I don't do that, for me this monitor is 100% perfect and a great buy

It took me quite a time to decide on what replacement monitor to buy as my old were ten years and I was getting stinging in my eyes after a few hours work on my comp. This model sells on the Flicker free blue light adjustment plus I bought a larger monitor than I have had, the result of all this is EXCELLENT firstly the stinging in my eyes has gone screen size is brilliant colour rendition very good, power consumption low so I purchased another. So very very please with these monitors. I'm not a gamer so can't comment overall nothing for me to dislike - no negatives. Thanks ASUS

This is the third ASUS monitor with the ye care that I have purchased for the household as I was so impressed with the first one.It is so easy on the eyes and this particular one I use as second screen when working from home. When ordering I did not realise I had order a white one but it actually looks very nice in white and has a very quality feel to it.Overall it is well built and screen is excellent. Controls are easy to use and the two HDMI ports are useful when a second device needs to be plugged in such as PlayStation or desktop PC.

I remember when I first purchased this monitor (about 8 months ago now) I was very unhappy that it didn't come with speakers. The listing was very confusing and I believed I'd bought the model with speakers - I hadn't! After getting in touch with the seller the seller agreed to refund £15 which went towards the cost of 2 speakers.Since the confusion I've had no issues. No dead pixels, clean bright screen, powers on instantly. It's not particularly bulky and doesn't really wobble on my desk. Does exactly what I need now and isn't glossy :)

I own three monitors with this resolution, this one, a Dell Ultrasharp (factory calibrated for photography), and an HP, and this one is my favourite for reading text. I spend all day with multiple panels of computer code, email, and Word documents up reading small print and get the least eye strain with this one. I also like to run with the blue filter permanently on to reduce the chance of macular degeneration later in life. With three equivalent monitors I can say this one is highly recommended for reading.

Update: One year LaterThese still perform brilliantly. No faults at all with daily use, if you are considering getting a new monitor(s) then I can 100% recommend this model. You will not be disappointed.Original Review:Only just set these up but cannot complain. They were packaged brilliantly to avoid damage, credit to Asus. They are clear, no dead pixels and look great when gaming (league of legends)Perfect addition to the set up.Would reccomend these of you're on the fence.
