I have the 24” TN 1ms 75Hz version of this monitor (purchased from Box because it was cheaper at the time (mid July 2018))This is a superb monitor to satisfy console gaming at a reasonable budget, 1ms input lag (researched “real world input lag” averages for this monitor as one of the best available at 10ms) is essential to get great response and reactions in your gaming, and for a TN the colour quality is surprisingly great. There are enough ports to hook up multiple devices, and the monitor auto switches channels to whichever one is on. There’s a reason this gets a lot of praise in the niche media as being one of the best console monitors you can buy.For console gaming this monitor has plenty of options and enough ports to access. All you need to connect a PS4 is to stick in a HDMI from the console to the monitor (and plug in the monitor power brick and the PS4 power brick). The monitor has a vast number of options to calibrate your gaming including gaming-centric images (crosshairs, presets, FPS indicators etc), and for Xbox gamers the monitor has Freesync compatible with the Xbox One console. The navigation tool at the bottom corner of the monitor behind the screen is very intuitive and easy to use, and feels robust enough to be confident that it will not break. The screen is able to be rotated, heightened and tilted to your preference, in such a way to not inhibit the effective cable management system hiding your cables behind the screen and down the monitor stand. The monitor stand is solid and sturdy which is surprising considering it’s so light in weight. The monitor speakers are not “top notch Dolby” like you would expect in late 00’s Plasma televisions but for 30W speakers they are decent quality (but sometimes lack “oomph” for example the hard impact notes in the music of God of War), but the monitor has a jack available to connect your own speakers or headphones. For gaming purposes this screen is great quality, put the PS4 into full RGB mode in the settings and the reds and blacks are superb. If you are not confident enough to calibrate the screen, fortunately this monitor comes with a preset mode (mode 5 out of 5 presets) that is very close to the calibrations I found online, to the point where the differences are close between preset and overall calibrations. Games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and God of War look fantastic, for a PS4 or PS4 Slim this is a perfect 1080p monitor to use. For TV use however the screen is decent, but because the monitor is calibrated by Asus for gaming use the screen quality on TV or online video use is not as good compared to PS4 use.The only downsides I can see are that there is no Display Port, I personally would have hoped there was a 144Hz version as this price point (at the time, and even now at current prices), and you can get similar spec monitors for cheaper nowadays without the Asus brand price boost.

Improves the smoothness and responsiveness of games. May improve reaction times as you see the real situation slightly earlier than you would have done on a 60hz monitor. The actual frame rate you can get is dependent on the power of your graphics card and the detail you demand in terms of the quality of game rendering chosen in the game settings. The performance is also dependent on the ping or speed of your internet connection. If this is slow the added responsiveness of the monitor may not be fully realised. This monitor gives a good level of brightness and colour contrast. It is only HD, not 4K but at the present time even high end graphics cards struggle to give very high frame rates at 4K.If you are into gaming this monitor is likely to give you a performance edge and currently is probably an optimum solution. If you are into films, word documents and spreadsheets, and or photography, not gaming, then an IPS 4K monitor would be a better choice for pure image quality, providing you have a reasonable graphics card. This monitor is an excellent HD monitor but not as good as 4K monitor for pure image quality. The monitor is easy to set up and use, easy to adjust the settings and has both height and tilt adjustment which is often missing (especially height) in cheaper monitors. You can get 240hz HD monitors but these tend to be more expensive and unless you have really high end graphics cards then you are unlikely to be able to achieve such high frame rates so would not see the added performance benefit which must also be almost beyond what a human could defect in terms of the difference between say 165hz and 240hz. So this monitor is a very well specked monitor for gaming while remaining a good all round monitor in terms of wider use. In terms of quality, performance and value for money for competitive gaming, or enthusiast gaming, this is one of the best performing monitors currently available.

People complain about viewing angles on TN panels and color production but this monitor is great when it comes to that for a TN. First of all, it is a gaming monitor so you only really look at it from one angle, and straight on it is great (for the sake of it, side top and bottom viewing angles are darker but a lot better compared to other TN panels. This monitor also has great color production compared to other TN panels which i guess is contributed to the premium price of about £200 we pay for this as there are other monitors with the same resolution, response time and refresh rate and added features such as free-sync for around £150 however colors are not as good.It has thin bezels as well which i love as i can not stand thick bezels that i pretty much saw on every other monitor at this price or similar for gaming. I also love the 75hz refresh rate and low 1ms response time which help in gaming, plus the AMD free sync option which is amazing if you have a good AMD GPU (I have an RX 580). It has a nice, modern/futuristic design and on the stand it can tilt, lower, rise, and turn to fit how the customer wants. It is also wall mountable. I do not like the blue ring on the stand however and would prefer them to either make it black, make it an RGB LED, or sell other color options. I also do not like that the HDMI ports are on the bottom as it is inconvenient when connecting and unconnecting systems. Overall, it is a great premium 1080p gaming monitor with very few flaws compared to similar spec monitors at a slightly lower price.I am very happy with this purchase so far and hope it lasts long!

This monitor is the 0.5ms 165hzThe monitor is pretty good quality it does 1920x1080p at 165hz via the display port which is a good feature , it's a shame there is a black border round the screen due to the pixels not being able to stretch as its a 27in monitor with the pixles of a 24 . The picture quality is very good and after messing around with the settings can be outstanding . It can move up, down can be tileted and turned onto side it's pretty good. The monitor also features some inbuilt settings , can get a cross hair to appear on the screen and there are varying styles and colors to choose from , there is a timer feature and an fps counter (even though it will just say 165 fps despite you not even running anything so isn't very accurate)The sound quality is ...Awful but who needs a monitor with sound just don't be surprised when you try it out .The last major issue is you pay extra to get the 165hz 0.5ms monitor as apposed to the 144hz 1 Ms monitor but as shown in the pictures it's a lie it is only 1ms so just be careful when choosing and do your homework on this product and others around it.Overall it's a good mid range gaming monitor with great features like the cross hair and n-vidia gysnc built in (meaning all games sync with graphics card and monitor) which is a cool little surprising feauter , but for the price and the deceving people who want 0.5ms monitors then this isn't for you . In additon when contacting the seller about this issue they seem relectunt to do anything and insist it is 0.5ms despite the massive packaging saying other wise ... Overall 8/10

I have a 21 inch monitor that i used until i hooked this monitor up yesterday when it arrived. At first i was having all sorts of problems with it because ASUS didn't include any type of detailed manual with the product, just some picture diagram with numbers that doesn't tell a lot by itself or helps to figure out the function of the monitor. So after a lot of trial and error over the past day trying to get it to work right, i've finally got it into some good condition. When you unbox it, you'll notice that it the screen is pixelated in places, especially the small details and when panning around or using the mouse you'll also see some ghosting. in order to make the best use of the monitor, plug the DP cable in that comes with the monitor, switch to 144hz and then play around with the monitors OSD settings, set it in racing mode, make sure to set the blue light down a bit, make sure VividPixel is at 0 as all it will do is sharpen everything on the screen considerably the higher the setting. Then adjust Trace Free to 40 (and that is important to remove that ghosting).Picture quality is far better than on default. however you'll probably want a better DP cable to get best performance from your monitor though. As it is i'm likely to keep playing around with the settings a little to get more performance from it, however, it's a nice upgrade over the previous Benq monitor i had.

I compared this monitor against" the ASUS VG279Q, 27 Inch FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS, Up to 144 Hz £278"" Acer KG271Cbmidpx 27 Inch FHD, TN Panel, FreeSync, 144 Hz £199"These monitors are all on Amazon at the time of this reviewFirstly I thought the IPS monitor would be better in terms of quality of picture. However after setting them up along side each other and checking the free UFO Tester on google and testing it on COD MW and also watching movies on Netflix I found this monitor came out on top by far on quality.I was ready to sacrifice the 165hz and go for the 144hz IPS monitor but it turns out I could enjoy and benefit from the quality of the 165hz monitor when watching movies and using forwork. The fact this was a TN monitor not and IPS monitor worried me but rest assured out of these three monitors this is the one to choose if your budget was under £300.Its height adjustable and you can also have your monitor vertical if you wanted! This screen is best used with a display port, I have a laptop which had a USB display port so after hunting for this the monitor performed to 165hz because on a HDMI cable it only went to 120hz max this is very important if you want to benefit from this screen. My USB display port was on amazon for £17 and playing COD MW has never been so easy.Good quality, really sturdy monitor! Choose this one!

This monitor is a very good choice for anyone wanting a larger 144hz monitor. The swivel and tilt is amazing, allowing a lot more options with less space, and the design is very understated and plain which is quite rare in high refresh rate gaming monitors. With a bit of tweaking I got the colour and brightness to how I like it, but this could obviously vary on a case to case basis. In the box I received a HDMI and DP leads, with a power lead both a UK and European style plug and a male to male 3.5mm audio connector (and also probably one or two minor things I missed out). With NVidia adding this to their shortlist of GSync compatible monitors I would expect the feature to work well, and it does. It's incredibly simple to use if you have an NVidia graphics card and I have had no issues with the feature.Even the buttons to control the menus have been done well, with each one being easily distinguishable with touch and the marking on the front, as well as having a high quality feeling joystick to move around.I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a 144hz monitor to consider this one, as the only drawback is the 1080p resolution which, depending on your use case, could go completely unnoticed compared to higher resolutions.

I bought this monitor with Amazon Warehouse as an open box "used - like new"even though my monitor is slightly damaged, it still works as expectedPackaging is really good, very easy to setup and the menu system is easily navigated. It has Displayport x 1 HDMI x 2 and a VGA inputAlso audio in / out with 3.5mm jackscables included, Power adapter, hdmi, displayport, vga, 3.5mm - 3.5mm audiothe stand is very easy to put together and picks up whatever input you use, automatically defaulted to 60hz however it will go up to 75 with a compatible gpu.there are many colour modes to chose from and you can even save profiles to quickly go into your favorite game mode and then back to movie modelike i mentioned, mine has slight imperfections in the back-light, there are 6 dots in the lower part of the screen which are brighter than the rest, however they are VERY small and only noticeable when on a white background.when mentioned to amazon i was very happy with their outcomeIf you can get a good deal on this then buy it

Had this ASUS VG245H monitor for a couple of days now and was bought soley to game on my ps4 not pc, value for money with a good picture not jaw dropping but not bad for a TN panel, just make sure if like me your intentions are to use this monitor only on console especially on the ps4 , to put your settings on the ps4 to RGB FULL.! The built in speaker are a bonus not great or loud but better than none at all..Cod ww2 plays great with this monitor but just remember the ps4 is capped @ 60hz so you wont get this monitors full 75hz on ps4 thats only possible via a pc with this monitor. This monitor is abit heavy which shouts premium quality build and thats exactly what your getting for less than£200 smackers...I would recommend this monitor to anyone on a console only to just go and buy this bad boy...Its a no brainer for the price the build quality which imo is premium , and the picture quality you are getting..Your never go back to playing FPS games on your console via a tv ever again..Enjoy !!

So I bought this screen upgrading from another Asus screen. Originally I wanted to move away from TN screens as the colours always seem washed out, purchased an acer screen and was disappointed. Then i found this and i absolutely love it! the colours are really bright and vivid, the response time, being a TN panel is fantastic along with the amazing refresh rate of up to 165hz. This is also a G-sync monitor which works with Nvidia graphics card to give you really smooth gameplay. I will never go back from this. The monitor also has great little features like on screen FPS display and crosshair which is really handy if you are using this for gaming. The stand is really study and is doesnt wobble around at all and it does look pretty cool on the deskI've found the 27" screens too big for a small desk but this is the perfect sweet spot. cant recommend this monitor enough!

Surprisingly well made, with a fine metal bezel. For the price point, having freesync is great, it ranges from 40 - 75hz. The adjustable stand is flexible, includes a cable management slot, and stays in place once set. The setup menu is easy to use with good features.Image quality is good, though it does seem contrast is hardest to balance. Overall image quality shows no "hotspot" or light-bleed in use (in a totally dark room, with the screen showing a black image, a small amount of light-bleed could be seen at the very edges.) Colour range is vibrant. The compromise is the speakers, they have no base, little high range, and tend to distort at volume. Use stand alone speakers or headphones, even half decent cheap ones will sound better. When plugging in wires, it's best to rotate the screen in to portrait mode, as it makes access a lot easier.

I researched a lot of monitors and had that purchase anxiety as all monitors seem to have a con. This has GSYNC which is a glorious feature. 165 hz as well, like for this price, seriously?! The 0.5ms response time is not true under normal computer usage conditions, that's under strict lab settings so don't mind that. However, it's probably 1ms which is still amazing. The picture quality needs no description, perfect all around and even though this isn't an IPS screen, it's as good as. I am actually blown away at the quality versus the price and I couldn't believe it when I saw it listed £50 cheaper AFTER I bought it. If I didn't already have a second monitor, I'd have instantly bought a second one of these. The stand is so solid as well and you can push it down to the same level as your desk, literally. 10/10

Awesome screen especially for it's price.Mine didn't come with a hdmi cable. Instead it came with a display port cable and aux cord. Also the 165hz is only available through display port. on HDMI it's called at 120hz, which is still really good. There's not much but a little backlight bleed at the bottom of the screen. The screen display options are kinda weird navigating through and changing... but yeah after some time spent tweaking the settings, its ok.The stand is also really good. I really can't complain about it. It's very sturdy and the little feature at the back for cable management is great. After using full hd on a 17" laptop screen for so long, seeing full hd on 27" looks a bit blurry and I kinda wish I got the 4k Option. But after a while I got used to it...

This monitor is made for gaming!!I have usually over 200fps in game but my monitor had 60hz ... taking in consideration that this one is 165hz took my action gaming to the next level. It doesn’t have the absolute best quality in the end you buy this monitor for action paced gaming not for looks. If you usually play start craft games you need a 4K monitor if you play LOL, Fortnite, counter strike than this is the monitor for you. Super smooth gameplay from the 165hz. I am unfortunate to have 2 SLI video cards that don’t support the G-sync (compatible monitor ) any video card after 980 .. 1000 series will support that as well. !! I just wait to upgrade my Laptop.Make sure you set up the monitor on win 10 to 165hz ...the default is 60 when you plug it in.

Purchased 2 of these for use with PS4 Pro and PC. They're great for the price; no dead pixels or defects. They also come with good quality cables too.The increased refresh rate and FreeSync aren't useful for consoles, but are nice to have. It's crazy to think that these are still manufactured with a VGA port, and not a DVI port, but it's come in super handy for a work laptop that doesn't have modern ports during the virus lockdown.I came from an iiyama 24" monitor and the increase in picture quality, colour and depth makes me very happy.Next upgrade will be 4K and a larger size of course, but until then I can wholeheartedly recommend the ASUS VG245H if you're sitting at a desk (due to 1080pand it being small in size).
