Having order this monitor for my rebuilt Mac Pro 5,1I wanted a wide screen monitor for film editing, and something that I could use to game on from time to time. One of the uses I needed was, to use quicktime player to record my gameplay on my Mac Pro which is not your normal use of a Mac to play games on, granted but this computer is not build for gaming but creative art work and film and photo editing but it can be use to game from time to time.It was when I was recording a game for youtube that now and then the screen image started to go all blurry and pixelate knowing the Mac was 100% due to it’s only just undergone a 100% rebuild with all new components within the last few days, the only other item that I did not know its build history of was the monitor. So I started the return process thinking the monitor had a fault but could not make the return drop off at the drop off centre for 3 days later. So I had some time to explore this problem a bit more and to give a detailed feedback report. As I keep recording the gaming side I noticed that QuickTime player was starting to crash which is unheard of and something I have never seen happen in the last ten years I have used this software. But just using Quicktime player to record my desktop was fine just only when I record the game it had problems it was howI discovered that world of tanks and quicktime player tend to clash this is down to the fact that world of tanks is / was designed for windows it also has its own screen recording program built in, which you cant save to your computer and playback you have to upload it and then play it back and then screen record, but quicktime player will not record on windows and then a Mac version came along which will not play on my 5k imac unless I use bootcamp and windows 10 then it runs great on max settings in 5k on the windows 10 platform but locks up the imac if I try it on Mac OS yet it play’s fine on my Mac Pro. Which is not 5k which takes some getting you head around to understand that trust meHaving changed my mind to keep this monitor I can say it is very good with my Mac Pro, it has great image quality, a good size for film editing being so wide so gives a good size timeline to work on, sad to say I cant test it out with windows as the Mac Pro 5,1 cannot support bootcamp so I cant partition the Mac Pro to install windows but I am sure this monitor will be great for anyone using a windows pc I give this monitor 5 stars as it ticks all my boxes just wish it was 5k like my IMac but its not and i am ok with that and happy with this monitor

For reference this monitor replaces an IiYama Prolite GB2773HS with 144hz and 1ms response time that I bought around 5 years ago and is still going strong. My old monitor is a good mid range monitor bought 5 years ago - but as it is a TN panel the picture would change with your viewing angle. I’m currently using my PC as a TV, so wanted something a bit more versatile and a better picture. This new AOC monitor blows it out of the water. As it is a VA panel I was expecting better colours and contrast, but I got much more than that. I watched a bit of a film I’d seen recently on Amazon Prime (Space Pirate: Captain Harlock), just to compare the picture and I ended up mesmerised by the eye popping colour and picture quality, noticing new details every scene and I watched the whole thing.I have had the monitor now for 3 weeks, and have played much TV, games - FPS (Wolfenstein), RTS (Endless Space), Space Sim (Elite Dangerous) and keep on noticing details I had not before. Part of this will be the bigger monitor size but my old monitor is pretty big! The real reason is that the picture is so much more vivid, sharper, better in every way.I read one review claiming there is lots of motion blur with this monitor. Absolute tosh, I would rate this pretty much on par with my old monitor (144hz and a TN panel with 1ms response). I have not noticed any motion blur. If there is any it is miniscule. That reviewer either had a duff monitor or has superhuman eye reflexes, or just had his PC setup incorrectly….I have a 1070GTX card and have it hooked up running G-Sync which worked flawlessly and painlessly, simply enable on the monitor then enable it in the driver window. No problems with it at all.The only downside - I have the monitor in sRGB mode as this gives great colour reproduction (and is less hassle as I don’t have to faff with settings…) but in this colour mode you cannot change the brightness and it is set at 90% but this is too bright. I ended up using the Nvidia control panel to reduce brightness output which helped but is not an ideal solution. I’m probably going to try setting up a non sRGB mode at some stage.Edit: By enabling the dynamic contrast setting with sRGB the picture is even better and the brightness is no longer an issue. The dynamic contrast works very well, is not noticeable unlike my old monitor where it would dim or brighten slowly and noticeably with different scenes.

I'm really pleased with this monitor. I just upgraded my graphics card to an RTX 2070, and with my old 22" 1080p 60Hz monitor the new GPU was only using about 30% of it's power. So I searched for an affordable, higher res 144Hz monitor to go with it and thought this was too good to be true when I found this. There were very few UK reviews, but many of the USA reviews stated that the image was poor out of the box but very good once a bit of time is spent adjusting it.And that is exactly what I have found. The default settings just did not show the monitor off to it's best. In games, the colours were too red & washed out.Using the software provided, the picture looked much better, and showed what the monitor is capable of, but then I had to switch between different modes to get the best picture depending on the type of game I was playing.I quickly got tired of that and decided to adjust the custom setting instead, to try and achieve a single good picture for all games. In the end, a drop of the red by a few points, and a couple of clicks down on the brightness, and all my games are looking good using this single setting. Now that is sorted, I will say this - Wow, the picture is fantastic, and all my games have taken on a new look, including feeling more immersive due to the increase in screen size. I have no dead pixels and the monitor looks well made. The curved screen is a positive I think. It is really not much of a curve, so it almost seems unnecessary, but on the other hand, it brings the outer edges of the screen to the same eye distance as the centre, so overall I think it's a plus. Certainly there's no sign of any distortion. And it does look pretty cool. This is a great monitor - excellent image, and excellent value for money.Note to Amazon & prospective buyers: My one complaint is not about the product but about the way the monitor arrived. There was no external Amazon packaging, so anyone can see what it is. The driver also told me that signature was not required & he would have left it on the doorstep if I had not been in (not his fault, but that is what his instructions are for this particular item). He thought that was ridiculous given the value and nature of the item, and I agree with him.So Amazon, you need to make sure this is a signed for item. And anyone buying, I advise you to be sure to be in to accept the delivery.

First off this is an excellent monitor for gaming. To me it honestly feels like playing on a CRT monitor back in the day (input lag is imperceptible to me). As the resolution is quite low, the individual pixels are more visible, so it doesn't look as nice as a 1440p or 4k monitor, and the curved screen makes items on the desktop look a bit stretched, but it's really immersive for gaming. The upside of the lower 1080p resolution is that you don't need a monster PC to play at high frame rates, and FreeSync on this monitor works great with my RX580 graphics card. The panel quality is much better than your typical TN-panel gaming monitor with good viewing angles, colours look pretty decent once the settings are dialled in,but not as good as a decent IPS monitor, at least in my opinion.Out of the box image quality leaves a lot to be desired. This is normally the case for most monitors that aren't for professional usage, but this is much worse than average. I adjusted the colour temperature from "Warm" (default setting with a massive red tinge) to "Normal" which helped a lot.For gaming, I adjusted the overdrive from the default setting to "Strong", which reduces the amount of ghosting on screen, and at least on my unit doesn't produce any noticeable side effects.I really dislike the stand too, which has two large feet which extend into the area where I like to use my mouse, I really wish the design took up less desk space. The height adjustment is a nice feature, though. In summary, if your focus is on gaming performance, this is a great screen for a reasonable price, but I would recommend spending a bit more on a high refresh rate 1440p monitor if you use your PC for productivity work too.

Possibly the best VA monitor out there for the money(even in 2020). Before buying a monitor please research TN, IPS and VA panels. Its a bit silly of reviewers coming on and complaining about a VA and that it doesn't perform like an IPS or TN. No standard is perfect. They all have pros and cons. For me I mainly game and I have a beefy graphics card and the picture quality is beautiful. I also do a bit of word editing for work and drone video rendering in my spare time. Is it 4k, no of course not, I can't game on 4k unless I was super rich to afford to have the 144hz to go with 4k. It can hold its own. I see no graphics tearing or ghosting. No dead pixels thankfully. 144hz is wonderful. Lighting,a lot of people saying they find this dull, I have to turn down the brightness on this! There is a lot of confusion around this monitor. I can tell you I'm delighted with it. However be prepared to get to know the menu system well as I have a profile for gaming and word editing. If you are not prepared to adapt the settings to suit the job in front of you this is not the monitor for you. If you have the patience to adapt and learn how to adjust the settings to your needs ie gaming or video viewing, Web browsing go for it. I spent hours researching VA monitors and there are very few that will beat this for value for money. I was never into curves before, thought they were a gimmick. That has changed since I sat in front of this. Happy customer.

I was using a 27" Asus GSYNC monitor of TN type with 2560x1440 with a 1ms response time. I wanted a 32" screen because I watch films quite a bit and play games too. I was a bit concerned that a VA panel may feel laggy compared to my TN panel but I need not have worried.Build quality is fine for the price - there's no swivel or height adjustment but that doesnt bother me. I put the stand together - attached the included displayport cable (which works fine at 144HZ) and I found no dead pixels. I did a few basic adjustments to picture quality and was good to go. The curvature is very slight and I got used to it very quickly. All monitors are too bright initially and this one's no different.I dropped Contrast and Brightness to 40 each. gamma I set to 2. Colour Temp I left at Normal. Picture Boost I left OFF. Under Game Settings I have Shadow Control at 60 and Overdrive at Medium. This gives me a generally decent image with quite vibrant colours. I dont use Photoshop or I'd probably go for an IPS panel but I do use my holiday photos from my Sony RX100 as my desktop and they all look great.Gaming with L4D2 is fine and the extra screen space is a little more immersive. All in all - an excellent monitor for the money.

I've been using this monitor since i picked it up on the Black Friday sales.I did a lot of research into 144hz monitors before buying this, but the selection of 27" 144hz monitors is pretty slim unless you want to spend a ridiculous amount.Every review i saw of this monitor said "its not very bright". Now its not the brightest monitor out there, but i can say that its more than bright enough, i have 2 other 27" BenQ monitors, that i always run at 80% brightness which matched this monitor perfectly when it was at full brightness.I could see someone having issues with this monitor if they're near a window, but lets be realistic, us gamer arent sat in a brightly lit open space, were in an artificial lit small man/woman cave (*other genders may apply")my gaming room/home office/ hideaway from the wife is approximately 3 m x2.5m, has blackout blinds and is light with a 4 watt led daylight bulb, and its perfect for me.I am using the freesync functionality. I am using it with G-Sync on a MSI 1060 and so far it has worked flawlessly with a number of games ive played. My only regret about this monitor is that i didnt buy three

What an amazing gaming monitor i have no idea what the guy in the other review says about being in a 1080x1920 format as this monitor pushes a 1920x1080 resolution. its amazing thing bezels are almost invisible to the eye when playing any game, a sharp contrast of vibrant colours are gorgeous to look at. from upgrading from a 60hz 21inch monitor to this gigantic 32 monitor is the best change ive ever made to my gaming experience. the 144hz are as smooth as a knife through butter and you can notice a drastic difference to games which are not locked to 60hz. the monitor comes with a disk which has essential AOC drivers on it which must be installed to push the full 144hz refreash rate otherwiseusing nvidia control pannel will only allow 120hz this will change after you select 144hz in the aoc software. i highly recommend this monitor, its differently a good value for money as alot of 144hz large monitors are pushing much higher in cost. i would personally say that it looks better than 1080p but i have gone under such a dramatic monitor change i would say somthing like that. 9.5/10 for me

I have owned a couple of AOC monitors over years that I have been gaming on PCs or played on Consoles with high refresh monitors. This is the best Monitor for the money. If your new to High Refresh monitors or you don't know about 144hz refresh basically it increases the amount of frames that you can see on the screen. The screen refreshes 144 frames per second compared to 60hz screens. It deliveries the most smooth and responsive gaming experience.Having the screen curved is a great addition aswell it does make the experience better, nothing to really say on this department. The resolution is also brilliant. 1440p is twice the pixel density as 1080p which makes games and content overall look sharper. However the only downside is the colour re production. When you set it all up there is more yellow in the colour than anything else but once you fine tune it in the OSD (On screen display) the colours are great.

This device is like a portal into the shadow realm. I feel like a mythical demon plucks my eyeballs out and directly attaches itself to my mind whenever I sit infront of this magnificent screen, beaming fantastic images directly into my spirit.Replying to emails was once a chore, now a delight. No eye strain, just abundant visual stimulus. I am transported into my video games through the clearest of screens, with nothing but my angry girlfriend to break my suspension of disbelief. The box it arrived in, when delivered by one of the three wise men, is also a thing of beauty. Solid, durable and designed with the ease of assembing the contents.Only the worthiest may reside in such a blessed container. The only issue I had was navigating the menus - it's like trying to operate a helicopter and the buttons are miniscule compared to my sausage fingers. However, once set up you'll never need to touch them again.

I did a LOT of research into screens as I was trying to avoid selling my kidney to get something I thought was acceptable and worked with G-sync. I wanted a 27" 144hz HD monitor.Ok, firstly, its a curved screen. Honestly, I don't see much advantage to it but it looks nice. This monitor does not have G-sync. Though it can work with it. Hence why it does not have to high price tag of a G-sync monitor, but you will have to do some googling to get it to at least doing something. It is 144hz as long as you are using a Display Port connecting cable, NOT HDMIOverall the picture is great, you get a software menu to install on your PC that helps a lot with setting up the monitor. If you can stretch to this monitor on your budget, then I would recommend it for sure. Great bit of kit

Some people warned me not to buy a 27 inch screen with 1080p resolution. Well I did anyways and Im extremely happy for this price especially.Came a day early very well packaged. I must say I love the design of the screen and the adjustable stand.I had zero dead pixels and the 144hz refresh rate makes gaming super fluid and the curved screen is an added bonus with great viewing angles. In regular desktop view you can see some details are a bit pixelated due to large screen size compared to the resolution if you look very closely but while gaming this is practically non-existent.If your pc is not strong enough for 4k gaming but still want to enjoy your games on a big screen this is the best budgetoption.Very happy with my purchase.

This Monitor is great for gaming, 144hz using the Display Port & also using the HDMI, the screen is perfect for a multi monitor set up as seen is photo, the monitor comes with 1 HDMI Cable, 1 Display Port Cable & a Power Cable with a European Plug so you will have to either buy a adaptor for that plug or buy a new power cable that will fit your plug socket, the monitor is in 1080x1920 which initially makes everything look a little stretched but after a few hours of using the monitor you stop to notice it, the monitor being in this resolution means that your graphics card has less strain trying to run it.Overall i would highly recommend this monitor, great for gaming and watching shows and what not on.

Amazing 1080p gaming monitor, especially for the price.+colour reproduction is good, but not as good as IPS panels+contrast is incredible, especially blacks+curve is really nice once you get used to it+response time is great, I'm a hardcore FPS gamer and this is one of the most responsive monitors I've ever used+height adjust is nice, simple, and effective-pixels are broken up into 'lines' which can make text look a little weird at times (but still perfectly readable)-viewing angles aren't brilliant, exacerbated by the curve, it's fine if only one person is using it though

Amazing overall very low cost monitor, been using it for months and oh boy was it an upgrade from a screen that was 60hz and 15.6 inches on a laptop.Recommend getting it.Cons: doesn’t get extremely bright however i think it’s at the perfect level where it doesn’t hurt your eyes and makes your screen look good ( this con will be different on everyone’s opinion)Another con is the monitor stand, IT’S HUGE, before I got my new and bigger desk My wire of my mouse would hit the monitor stand but it’s easy to stop that but I couldn’t at first because of what desk I had.
