I've got a great laptop, an HP Elitebook, but while one of its big advantages is the small form factor this also proves to be one of its biggest weaknesses as although it has a great screen its only 13.1" in size which makes working with Excel etc... a bit difficult at times. So here we have a monitor to add to the laptop while I'm working at home. For this it is superb, nominally a 24" monitor (actually 23.8" to be precise) with a superb resolution of 1920x1080 in a wide-screen format it is great for both working with office type applications, CAD packages or even games. It offers a good refresh rate as well as great looking colour with a much higher colour palette than my laptop screen.Sharpness is as you would expect stunningly good.Setting up is a doddle, you simply take the two pieces of the provided stand out of the box, snap them together, the get the main screen and snap the assembled screen to the back of the screen. Once in place this makes the screen very stable whilst still giving you the ability to tilt the screen to suit your viewing position.Connectivity is by either a normal VGA lead or an HDMI lead, with these options it works well with either a PC equipped with one of these or alternatively with a video console or similar that has an HDMI output. The monitor comes as standard with an HDMI lead, but however no VGA lead so if you require to use that connection factor in the purchase of one if you don't already have one to hand.Once you've connected up your device(s) using the VGA or HDMI inputs you simply plug the mains lead in and turn it on (there is a power switch as well as other controls on the right hand rear side of the monitor. In use the monitor will switch to a 'standby' mode when there is no signal detected, turning on your device the monitor will automatically detect the input being used and switch to that signal. Also supplied with the monitor is a CD containing windows software (i.e. monitor drivers) and an online manual. If you don't have a CD drive on your laptop or similar these can also be downloaded from HP's website. However I've found that the monitor works perfectly well with the built in drivers supplied with windows 10 and have not resorted to installing the dedicated HP ones yet. I may well do that in the future as these may offer more options/facilities than the standard windows ones.Overall a great monitor if you need one or simply want an upgrade! :D

This is a 27-inch display which is meant for home or general business use. Don’t worry about colour gamuts, response times, contrast ratios or any of that stuff. If you are a graphics designer, a digital artist, or a high-spending gaming enthusiast, you won’t be buying a screen in this price range. For the rest of us, this HP screen does the job well. I like a 27-inch screen so that I can work on two documents side by side.On your desk, the display looks good – it is very slim, has thin bezels and has no distracting or flashy design elements. The heavy, square stand is very stable, and smoothly adjusts for height, tilt and swivel. The full HD resolution is fine for normal work and video viewing, and at a proper viewing distance (arms length) the pixels aren’t visible. If you lean nearer than that, they just about are visible on large plain areas. There is a lot of control over the colour that you see, and you should be able to achieve a comfortable display for long periods of use. Viewing angle is wide enough for two or three people to look at the screen at the same time. The five control buttons are all under the bottom edge of the screen, so you operate them by feel. This turned out to be easier than it sounds, and worked better than the adjustments on most of the screens I’ve owned over the years. The rightmost button, sitting slightly to the left of the power-on light, is the on-off switch. There is a tiny grey symbol printed just above it. Click any one and you see symbols for the main menu, auto-adjust, input choice, and colour control. You select by pressing the button immediately below the symbol. Dead easy. The main menu leads to submenus that let you control everything you might want, and a slew of adjustments that you are unlikely to want. You can always see which button to press. Once you have experimented a bit, and got a setup you like, you will rarely need to touch a button again. Actually, the out-of-the-box setup is likely to be fine for most people.I’m very happy with this screen, and have passed on my old 27-inch screen (which cost me a lot a few years ago) for some one else to use.

I've been using a 20 inch flat monitor for some time now and wanted something a bit bigger, and thinner. This monitor arrives in a large box and once opened, the monitor is protected by two large pieces of polystyrene. Assembly is simple - attach the vertical part of the stand to the monitor simply by clicking it into place, and then fasten the base to the bottom of the upright by means of finger screws, so no tools are required. The monitor comes with cables for connecting it to your computer (HDMI and VGA), and also a mains adapter. The monitor cannot be attached to a wall mount or a stand, but that wasn't an issue for me.Plug it into your computer, switch it on (button at the bottom right corner of the monitor)and it works straight away. It looks really nice, almost bezel-free aside from the bottom edge of the screen, which has a brushed metal finish, and the screen is matt so doesn't produce any reflections. There's no speaker, but again this wasn't an issue for me. Initially I did find the screen a bit too bright for my liking, and the instructions in the box really just tell you how to attach the stand, but there are three buttons on the bottom edge of the monitor close to the power button which let you change settings, including brightness, contrast, and colour modes, such as a gaming mode, low blue light modes etc. A few minutes after connecting the monitor to my Windows 10 PC a driver had been downloaded and installed too.In use the monitor is great. It feels huge compared to my old screen, and images are sharp and clear. If I use it for gaming it seems great to me - no lag or judder that I notice. The monitor does have an AMD FreeSync setting which is designed for improved performance during gaming, but this requires an AMD graphics card apparently, and only a few cards are supported, so despite my PC having an AMD card it was useless to me as mine wasn't one of the supported boards. All in all I'm really pleased with this monitor. It's a good size, really thin, and performs perfectly for my needs. Really happy with it.

This is a good value 27" monitor from HP, which is nicely made and looks good on a desk. We have it set-up in my son's bedroom connected to his PC via VGA and his Xbox One via HDMI. The picture quality with just standard settings is very good and the screen is incredibly easy to set-up - even the stand just clips on with no need for fiddly screws. The design is quite spartan, with minimal bezel around the LED panel and a narrow stand. Despite the fact the stand isn't the widest, the monitor is stable enough. The power and settings buttons are located on the right-hand side rear of the monitor and this is a questionable design decision. You get used to how they work quickly but their placement isn't ideal and a bit of a stretch when wanting to change source (this is assuming you also don't regularly want to tinker with picture settings). It's not the worst set-up and it keeps the front of the monitor clean and tidy, but is just more awkward to use than I would like.Fast-moving images are catered for pretty well by the 5ms response time. There's no question it isn't the quickest but it isn't terribly noticeable. It's worth bearing in mind that the 27w seems to be more aimed at the corporate market than that of home entertainment, and that needs to be taken into account. This also means the price is lower as a result so performance-wise you are getting what you pay for. If movement clarity is very important to you, definitely look elsewhere in the 1-2ms bracket. But apart from the awkward controls and response time, the display itself is bright and lovely to look at. The promised visual clarity from a tighter viewing angle also delivers, with colours still looking vibrant when you aren't looking at the screen straight-on. The ease of set-up and the look of the screen are also positive factors. For the money, it's definitely worth a look but definitely compare to the immediate competition and be prepared to spend a btut more if the best gaming performance is important to you.

Brilliant! Bought this to extend my 15.6inch HP laptop. Was skeptical about adjusting to the size and the quality. The size is brilliant for a small room, when you use it to watch movies. Essentially a 24" TV and honestly is perfect. More than capable as a monitor when using it as a computer because 24"inches is big enough for personal use.The stand makes the monitor look like a TV and the tilting action is a little awkward. To enhance the monitor in a room I would maybe purchase a screen riser, without that it doesn't go up and down.Quality: Now I was worried because it isn't a glossy/ reflective screen (which I'm used to) and don't quite know all the monitor keywords. The monitor has it's own technology, and processes images completely separate from the capabalities of your laptop.I believe this monitor enhances the images you view on it. There is a beautiful and deep detail on this screen. It is advertised as a 1080p however it does play 4K/8K very well. For gaming it's like 98% perfect. It was plug and play for me. I connected it to my laptop and it worked straight away. May be different for non-HP laptops but it's a HDMI connection so I doubt it.Sound: Lastly on sound. The monitor has no sound. When I plugged in my laptop, I was very worried sound would not play.Sound DOES play from my laptop and is actually incredibly loud. This is with the B&O Play Sound on my laptop. The sound is great for plug and play. However, perhaps for a more professional and finished set up, I am thinking about ordering bluetooth speakers. (Though that is not necessary)Confirm: It does come with 1 HP hdmi cable, UK ac adapter plug, CD with drivers.Arrived in a regular Amazon box and I had to sign for it to make sure I got it safely. It is a beautiful purchase!

This is the largest computer monitor I have got. I'm using with my MacBook Pro because I need to edit photos and edit videos.I am very pleased and surprised by the clear resolution the monitor produced by using it as a second screen.Box ContainsMonitor;AC power cord;Documentation;HDMI cable;VGA cable;Power adapter.Quick and easy to setup using the clear instructions. And if you are unsure find a youtube video guide.By the way, watching youtube, Netflix, etc films/videos is great. Clear HD quality. The monitor edges are thin around the sides and top which does immerse you into the film/video/browsing/ or whatever you are viewing on the screen.I've connected some speaker to make the experience more lively. The tilt is also good,it gives enough movement so that you can get the screen just so for viewing. It does help if you have a decent graphics card, most new computers and laptops do now. And most new computers and laptops now come with HDMI out, this is the best way to get the best out of this monitor.HP has done a great job in producing this monitor, I wish technology had moved onto 4K or higher because the consumer is ready for it in the computing world. You can set up your console Xbox or PS4.

For the price, this is a very good monitor, and will be a step up in quality for many from the monitor that came with their computer. It's an IPS panel, which is not often found on budget monitors, and means that the picture can be viewed from a wide range of angles without appearing to fade out or lose part of the image. It produces a very stable image, which is easy to view for prolonged periods without the eye strain or fatigue that often occurs with TN panels. It connects easily to PCs, Macs and laptops with no configuration required, and produces good quality images. There are no speakers, as is usual with monitors of this type. Some will miss the option to adjust the height of the screen above the base, although this wasn't an issue for me. It can easily be mounted to a monitor stand or arm via the standard VESA bracket connectors on the unit's rear for those who prefer variable height. It's promoted as having a thin bezel; I wouldn't call it especially thin by today's standards, but it is pretty good for the price, and thinner than I was expecting. The build quality is surprisingly good for a monitor in this price range.Overall, I'm very happy with it, and I reckon that it provides good value for money.

Bought 2 of these for the office. Very easy to put together with no tools needed. Windows 10 displayed the picture perfectly from startup. The monitor looks very modern with minimal bezel and can be tilted to suit you view. A manual comes with the included CD together with mains cable and HDMI lead. You can connect via VGA or HDMI.The picture is clear and bright and you may want to turn it down a bit because a white picture can make you squint and this is where the fun and games with the menu system come in. There are keys on the back of the monitor which you have to reach round to press and each one does something different.Something as simple as changing the brightness involves pressing several keys just to find the right setting and even then you don't always get it right. Not at all intuitive and very frustrating. It's a terrible design but luckily does not detract from the overall quality of the monitor and is recommended for home and office use.

The screen itself is very nice. Most importantly, it fits under the shelf on my desk, which was a major consideration. The matte finish means it doesn't throw out reflections like my other screen.Very simple and straightforward to put together. The stand is in 2 parts, which slot together and then fit into the bracket on the back of the screen. It's fairly standard in terms of layout of sockets - it has VGA and HDMI outputs and a power input socket. The power and screen adjustment buttons are on the back down the right hand side. It's a little bit wobbly on its stand and the tilt is very hard to move, but the most annoying thing is that pretty much every time I move or knock it, the power disconnects. The plug must be very loose, or it's a loose connection inside. I'll try a different cable and see if that sorts it out.If it weren't for the loose connection, I'd happily buy another one and have a matching pair, as I can just get 2 on the desk.

I got two of these, and while they look nice and seem to have a thin bezel, when joining the edges of the monitor you get at least 1 cm of black. This is because on sides and on top there is a 5-6 milimeters black edge, which essentially is not used for any pixels. This is really bad, I wouldn't mind if you would be able to scale it up and adjust it, but on monitor control panel, Image Scaling is grayed out, so you cannot change setting. Also GPU scaling does not work, as it looks like that is the actuall full panel size.Gaming is ok on it, but if you plan to use dual monitors in extended view and would have expected to have a very thin bezel, you would be disappointed. Can't complain about picture quality,I actually like it.Max resolution is 1080p and you cannot use force Gsync on these monitors.Overall great monitors for the price, bought at £65 each with voucher. For office duties, these are great.

When looking for a monitor, I had considered the different models and styles with particularly close emphasis on the curved and flat panel monitors. After reading a number of expert opinions, I decided that for a 27" panel, there was no need to go for a curved display. I can say for certain after using this monitor for around 4-5 months that it is absolutely fantastic! I have never seen so much detail in a 1080p monitor and there is very little difference between this and a 2k panel. The one downside with this monitor is the lack of height adjustment, however, there are a number of ways to get around this is required. I use a desk raiser which means I have the monitor at the perfect height, especially due to this monitors tilt functionality.Overall, if you are looking for a multi-functional monitor for gaming or every day PC usage, you'd do well to find a better monitor at this price point.

The monitor is really great looking. It's incredibly slim, stylish and the ergonomic features or adjusting the height and being able to tilt the screen are great. It's got it's own power source, which i've read is better, and i use the HDMI cable to link it to my laptop (with an USB-C hub adaptor)My only issue is that i'm pairing this monitor with my Macbook Pro and the different between the screen is quite big. I wish i could set a resolution on this monitor closer to that of my Macbook Pro. To be honest i haven't decided yet if this was going to work out for me.In hindsight, given the price, i feel i shouldn't have expected the same screen experience than on my expansive macbook pro,and a cheap monitor is what i was in need of. So it does the job, in an elegant way.But if you're looking for the same macbook pro quality display, think of increasing your budget.

I ordered two 24fh screens which were delivered with the usual Amazon prime efficiency. The screens were well packages and a dream to connect (once I had the extra adaptor I needed for hp Display adaptor to HDMI. (I had overlooked the fact my PC had hp Display adaptor sockets and not HDMI). I read another review that said the screen displays were not that good, well my experience is they are both crystal clear and sharp and far superior to my previous screens - a real step up. The only disappointment was no sound but something has to give to keep the price down and adding a couple of cheap speakers was no hardship to me.I only gave 4 star for gaming as I don't know - I don't use the screens for gaming - just writing software and occasionally watching sport.

For every day use this is a fantastic monitor. It costs pennies especially when you look at the specification.5ms isn't ultra gaming territory (looking for 1ms there) but there are no gamers I know playing at that level that need faster then the 5ms this provides. In terms of connectivity and clarityit a standard monitor with the normal input. 27" at roughly £100 and you can't really go wrong. The colours were vibrant and sharp. There were only a couple of small things that they could have improved upon ... there's no height adjustmentNo sound (you really can't expect it for this price can you? What I do love is the idea that you can now have 2 monitors for working at home at such a low price(assuming your graphics card can handle 2 monitors or more)

I bought this monitor with the intention of using it a second monitor for my gaming rig and I personally love it so far. My main monitor is a 27 inches 155hz Dell monitor for gaming.I have not tested this HP monitor for gaming, but based on the properties and how simple it is as a screen, I would only recommend it if you have a very strict budged and you are looking for a basic 1080 monitor to game for either a kid, or an entry level gaming rig.For anything else or if you are just looking for a low price monitor to help yourself at home or at the office, this is the one you should get and not looking for fancy choices which properties you will not use at all.
