Had the mk4 Apple TV about a week now and I’m very impressed. Couldn’t believe the ease and speed of install. It syncs to everything. Used it on 2 different TV and without doing anything it recognises the TV and the vol works on the apple remote to the TV and the TV remote works on the apple. We struggle with broadband speed in this house but I gets a better singnal than all other devices in the house including my PS4 and when my PS is only able to stream standard def due to bandwidth the Apple TVs picture looks 4K even though it’s not the 4K version. The apps are plentiful and the only things that it doesn’t seem to have is Sky Go, Spotify and an app for ultraviolet movies.

This is a great streaming device for us Apple IOS users, and for those who have a large iTunes library it's a no brainer. The design is simple but beautiful, the inputs you need at there and work first time every time.This is the 3rd Apple TV I've owned and setup wasn't as easy as the others, Lag was crazy at first... which wherever I searched came up with the same solution.... fix your network. I did this, and it didn't help. What I did realise after looking through the settings extensively, is that the device after doing its initial set up, didn't realise my TV was 60hz and defaulted to 50hz. It also did not set itself to Chroma 4:2:2 which I have the correct cable for.After manually setting up the Apple TV myself all lag disappeared,

I am an avid user of Plex and up to now have been using a HTPC connected to the TV via HDMI. However, Plex announced late last year that they were pulling support on the HTPC version of Plex. So I needed to source an alternative and there seemed to be two options: the Roku box and the Apple TV. I researched this and opted for the Apple TV 4k device not because I have any 4k capability but because the research suggested that the 4k was the most powerful. It was installed in a few minutes but I had one minor (age related) issue where the remote has a number of buttons but the most important and the most used button is hidden within an Apple style track pad.

I was skeptical with this purchase as I thought, what's the point as it's the same as the smart TV I've got. Well, that's correct to a degree.The Apple TV is so much smoother, everything is in one place and it's lighting fast. You get beautiful backgrounds which download daily to display when you're not watching anything on TV.Most of the apps worth well and you have the function of using airplay, meaning that I can play the same song on my Samsung TV and my Bose Soundlink at the same time. The advantage of this is that as I move throughout the house the music flows and follows me. It's great for casting from your phone to the TV and sharing pictures/videos with family members.The sleek Apple TV remote also allowed me to get rid of my TV remote,

I bought the box having recently upgraded my tv to a 55” 4K model so wanted to maximise my 4K content.ProsGreat range of 4K content at very reasonable prices in the apple store. You also regularly get extras with these purchases similar to a dvd.Remote works great although takes a little getting use to (I also use my iPhone as a remote especially for typing)I have both a uk and us iTunes account, the box lets me switch between them at the touch of a button to access both libraries.All the main apps are there.Picture quality on the menus and content are great.ConsMost games are rubbish.Apps are very limited compared to us store.No google play apps(but YouTube can be used to view google purchases)Overall a very well polished but of kit and superior in most ways to my Android shield tv,

We upgraded from the old Apple TV series 2 which had served us well, but was having problems and decided to upgrade.Positives:The user interface is much improved with a similarly improved remote control with track pad function.The biggest improvement however is the image quality, with such high defninition it felt like our TV was new too.The new range of apps are greatly increased and it is easy to use with a decent collection of channel options.Negatives:It is slightly larger (taller) than the older models of Apple TV, but as it included the app for nowtV, we got rid of that box and the one unit does look a lot more tidy.I think the power cable is a little short and wish to buy a replacement longer one.There are lots of game apps which do not seem well thought out,

I have an Amazon 4K TV box. It works well, but as Amazon becomes more proprietary and defensive about its content, services like Now TV are not available.The Apple TV is gorgeous to look at, wired connectivity built in for better and more reliable connectivity, the remote (its a little sensitive!) is a work of art, but, and most importantly, all the apps I wanted are in one place:- Netflix- Prime Video- Now TV- Disney Junior- YouTube (you can watch purchased Google content via this, and unlike Amazon, its the full app)- BBC iPlayerYes, its pricey, but its finally achieved something that I am sure I am not the only one looking for - "one box to rule them all!"

I was impressed by the video quality. I am not an Apple fan, and I bought this only for use with Zwift and FulGaz (FulGaz does not support Windows or Android). I was impressed by the ease of the setup and the stunning quality of the video on my Dell 43 inch monitor (model 4317Q). I like the fact that Apple has included a wired Ethernet port on the device.I thought I would be reaching for my Bluetooth keyboard, but actually the remote is intuitive both for the initial setup and use once you are up and running.

Ok, first off, it’s from Apple so it going work, and work well, but the remote, it’s a tiny work of art, metal back, rechargeable with cable included, only a few buttons and a track pad, and being Apple, it just works. Enter your Apple ID put your iPhone or iPad nearby and it takes the WiFi info from it and in 5 mins you’re watching telly or a movie. I swear the picture quality is better than my old Amazon fire stick. Well pleased. Thanks Apple and Jonny Ives!

Easy to set up - yeah and how. Do you have an iPhone. Setup done.The old smart tv was lacking upgraded Netflix etc so got this. Where has it been all my life. So easy to use. Turn the box on and it controls every connected device via hdmi arc. My amp tv etc so one smart little touch remote does all now. Got to love Apple.

Very good quality pictures and sound. Hire and purchase prices for films a bit too expensive for my liking. Also disappointed to have to pay to see certain Apple original TV shows like Mr Mercedes, think they should all be included in the monthly subscription fee, as with Netflix. That apart, very pleased with the service.

Small and fit nice on your counterThe problem is the HDMI cable needed does not stop the picture from jitteringI have tried them all and I am currently on my 4th cable recommended by the apple website ubt still jittersThruth is it jitters the least from all of the cables I have bought but does still jitter

I found this version of Apple's streamer much easier to set up and use than the 3rd generation. The remote is more accurate for inputting data, plus it also offers the option to do this via your (Apple) phone. In operation, I have experienced no drop outs and the addition of catch-up services is great.

Love this, I get a lot of use out of it, I use it for Now TV, Amazon prime and Netflix, there also lots of films on apple store from 99p.I also use it for Eurosport app.I actually get so much on it that I’m thinking of cancelling my BT TV package.My main reason for buying it was for Zwift app.

Really good if your already in the apple ecosystem. Love that you can also ask Siri to control your smart home etc. It’s only really worth it if you have a 4K HDR tv, otherwise you might as well get the previous model which still has pretty much all the same features and still runs TvOS
