At first I ordered the MPIO one (ASIN: B081R48WPG), which, when I received it, I couldn't get to work (even after two hours), so returned it for a refund. Then I ordered this one (the official Google Chromecast one) and it couldn't be more different. The television recognised it immediately, as did Google Home. The instructions were clear and precise and everything worked exactly as the manual described. Five minutes after installing, I was already casting to my TV. Don't bother going for any of the alternatives - they are all about the same price anyway - just get this one and you'll be amazed how easy it is to set up. We were promised an extra V6 box for our upstairs television when we signed up to Virgin Media. Not surprisingly, Virgin didn't stick to their promise so I had to think of an alternative way to stream TV upstairs.This Chromecast has provided the perfect, easy to use and cost effective solution.It's easy to set up, you just follow the basic instructions which come in the box and then the on-screen instructions and you're good to go.It's compatible with all the major streaming apps such as iPlayer, YouTube, 4OD, Channel 5 Player etc on both Android and Apple.I highly recommend this item for those looking for a cheap and easy way to stream from their phone to their TV in perfect HD.

Can’t fault this small but effective device.I have my daughter’s wedding pics on a loop when I’m between programmes. I’ll be able to show family any album I choose from now on, on a proper screen.Plays YouTube and NowTV from my phone which I was unable to upload onto my not-so-Smart TV.I’ve yet to find out what else it can do. Worth waiting to find out.Very glad I bought this after seeing what my daughter’s could do. She also warned that cheaper imitations were not worth the saving as they seldom worked as they should. Others may advertise using the Google Chromecast name in their description, but be sure you are ordering the authentic article or you are sure to be disappointed.

The chromecast is a good product in it's own right. The setup is easy and well guided. It's a simple idea and it's been well thought out. Google are constantly adding options and fixing the ones that don't quite work as smoothly as they should. The basic package is intuitive, and works using pretty much normal language, you don't need to learn a new language.The refurbish option is a great money saver and makes the decision to try it out that much easier. Mine doesn't have any marks or scratches - it looks brand new but cost significantly less than a new model and less than secondhand models selling on bidding sites - definitely a win!

This is my second chromecast , I ordered this for my mum so that she can watch Iplayer and share my netflix account during lockdown . She managed to install it completely on her own and she's almost 80 ( she is isolating so I couldn't help) . No complaints there and seems to be working fine so far. I'm surprised even after all these years the price has not come down though...but still worth it if you can't justify buying a newssmart tv for occasional streaming. Also really handy as she enjoys looking at photos from her phone on the big tv. YOu can also take it from room to room if you dont want to buy more than one. Happy so far.

It's nice device, you can connect any device to the tv by YouTube,Netflix or from any program can casting to tv and it's work for example If you are watching YouTube from your phone on TV with others , but you decide to watch something else but you cannot interrupt them, then you only have to turn off the Wi-Fi from your phone, then the device is disconnected from the TV, but the YouTube remains operational and then restart the Wi-Fi and continue watching YouTube on your phone while they watch YouTube from tv.That is fantastic.

Just download Google home app and connect to hdmi slot on tv. Off your tv also have hsb slot then you won't need to use the wall power just stick the end of usb too tv as well as the other end into the Chromecast which lights up either by wall plug included or your tv's usb. Open Google home and follow on screen of you're mobile's instruction. Within 2 minutes you can cast too your tv from your mobile. I use Netflix, bt sport and you tube as well as you tube music. Great for upgrading your older tvs with this Chromecast.

It's a great product. Have not actually used 3rd gen much but can definitely recommend chromecast devices as always used them since they came out. Even recommended the company where i work to adopt this to have dashboards shown on screens on a secure wifi network.It plays spotify, your usual bbc, itvplayer, youtube and many more. You can actually even mirror the display from your phone or computer and use your TV as an external bigger screen.

I have owned the 1st gen chromecast for 3 years and although good, I was limited to 2.4g wireless standard which as we all know, is quite congested.This 3rd gen device works on both 2.4g and 5g standards and from my experience so far, is quicker and more stable. It does not seem to get as warm so I think that means better efficiency.All in all, I am very pleased with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone who has not got a smart tv.

I had to sort out my sisters inability to watch streamed content on youtube and iplayer during lockdown remotely. She is not great on technology but was shielding so I couldn't do it for her.. Even though Ive never actually seen a chromecast or the Home app We were able to get her all set up with me 300 miles away which is a real endorsement of the product, the online guidance and the design. Oh, and it worked perfectly almost immediately.

This piece of kit is fantastic...its small and out of site, I simply plugged it in and started enjoying all its marvellous functions . I have since watched my sons graduation video recorded on my phone and various movies etc cast from my smart phone to smart TV. To cast certain things you may need to download an additional app on your phone (allcast) in my case ...which I use for showbox .....hope this helps xxx

New sealed genuine product, came with US style power plug, and free UK adaptor, this is not required if you have a USB output on your TV ( as well as HDMI)Set up is straightforward if you have a modern Android phone, comes up on screen as US version, but works fine after that.crystal clear playback on ITV player and 4OD also great for family pics through Google photos.. A must have at this price..

What a great product for the price is and the expected result.I can cast from my android phone, tablet but also from all my ipad's and iphone'sI just wich it had a smart sensor to power off when the tv is off, for that i bought a smart plug and control it from my home server.Just as a side note: for me this has never failed on it's job, unlike some generics i've tried in the past

Switched to it after Xiaomi Mi Box as it died after a week of use and Xiaomi support was useless. Chromecast works perfect for me, quality of audio and video slightly better than Xiaomi and connection is less glitchy than mi box. My only concern is that I cannot control volume levels on my phone when connected to chromecast as audio regulations buttons regulate volume on chromecast.

I was very disappointed to learn that my current 6-year old Samsung television doesn't support Disney Plus.A little bit of research told me that the easiest and cheapest way to rectify this was to add a Chromecast. At £20 for an open box product it was cheap, simple to set up and easy to use. Ten minutes later and we're watching Toy Story 4!
