I was skeptical due to reviews about this tablet freezing and having problems but so far we are two weeks in and my 3 year old loves it. It’s easy to set up (and that’s from a technophobe who struggles with the tv remote!), my little one worked out how to use it quickly. It’s got great parental settings, has age appropriate apps, games, books, videos, and you can download easily so you can take it in the car too. It’s got the same memory as the 10” tablet but a much better size for a tiny person

It won't set the world alight, but it's well worth the asking price, on discount. Don't believe the hype about it being ready to go straight from the box, there's a good hour's worth of set-up to do, and lots more you will want to customise later. Most if not all the curated games work smoothly, and it seems OK as a tablet in general. If you want to use it while charging, you may need to use the supplied charger, since it seems to be a known problem that the touchscreen glitches otherwise.

I researched carefully which tablet to buy for my 7 year olds because of the dangers of the internet. This is perfect and I don’t need to worry about what they might stumble across by accident. It is all controlled through Amazon fire, and the age range can be increased as they get older. I get reports and emails about what they are downloading and accessing. It has a full range of facilities and access to all the usual apps. I couldn’t be more happy. The kids love it too

We got this for our 7 and 4 yr old because during the lockdown it has been difficult to keep one or the other occupied while we do home schooling. I love the fact that it’s already pre loaded with all the kids educational and entertainment stuff and that I have complete peace of mind knowing that all the parental locks are there. The time limiting is great too and ensures that my kids can’t be on there any longer than agreed whilst I’m busy working. Well worth every penny!

Brought this fire tablet for my toddler, as we travel a lot and got it for him to watch/play. The case is really chunky and east for him to hold, and if he drops it- it’s protected. Both parental and child profiles, and can put parental controls on to keep him safe online. Lots of apps and programs for him to watch. battery life could be better I find that it needs charging every 3 days and we don’t over use it- maybe an hour a day. Other than that nice easy to use tablet.

Pretty much everything about the Amazon fire kids 8 edition is great. The product arrived in a stylish, well packaged box. Opening up was a breeze and getting the tablet all plugged in ready to set up was easy enough. This tablet is reliant on WiFi to set up, I was prompted to connect to a network to set up. Once that’s done, getting to the kids section is nice and easy. It is aesthetically pleasing to the exes and relatively easy to use.The games are great

Its a nice little tablet works as expected, not heavy and battery lasts for 2 days roughly. Minor fault for me personally is the speed and ability to keep Wi-Fi connection. Its a little bit frustrating that I can see WI-Fi signal on the tablet but it says Im unable to download due to no signal, so I have to wait for a few seconds to allow tablet to pick up the Wi-Fi signal. But the tablet is fully functional and my daughter is pretty happy

Remember this is an ordinary Kindle 8 HD with a fluffy case! Perfect for kids, I think i was buying for me when I researched this product.... Not fast enough, not big enough, not enough memory. But it is absolutely PERFECT for my daughter it does everything she needs!I also love the Amazon 2 year guarantee "no matter what happens" included in the price of the product. Great piece of mind. The parental controls are great and easy to use.

I was pleasantly surprised by how good this tablet is for the price paid. My child has loved exploring all the features available. The year subscription to Amazon Kids is fantastic, lots to explore, fun and educational. The protective casing is a great addition, keeping the tablet safe from rough and tumble and the occassional drop as well as adding a splash of colour - we are really pleased and would definitely recommend.

This is a really good tablet, lots of apps and books for my nine year old daughter. Only downside is you can only get apps from Amazon and not from Google Play. My daughter also had Stikbots for Christmas but could not install the app to make the stop motion videos as it is only available on Google Play.Just to be aware if you want specific apps.A big plus is the ability to set a limit on the screen time.

We was after a child proof tablet because our daughter kept dropping our phones when watching her videos and playing her educational games. This tablet is perfect. She can watch her videos on YouTube, it’s packed full of educational games for her and if she drops it there is no need to worry about it being damaged because of the big rubber case around it seems to protect it from any fall.

Brilliant this is the second tablet I have brougt This one first as then I wouldn’t have had to by another it’s does every thing he needs and you have total peace ou mind that there safe which your happy with and sos mum and dad brilliant all round well worth the money and I got extra £20 off too so total bonus so if your looking for a tablet for a child this is the right one definitely

Amazon Fire 8 kids is inexpensive and a lot of things are doing well: the speed is decent, the battery can withstand a long time - almost five hours longer than its predecessor. It will provide access to thousands of books, films, series and applications prepared especially for children under the Free Time subscription. Interestingly, the equipment is covered by a 2-year warranty

My two daughters love it one being 2 and other 3 years of age easy to get on games and to also go on videos on you tube but becuz its for kids they can only get up somethings on it, which is brilliant keeps them safer. Even my 8 year old likes the games on this kindle too for the year thing you get with it would deffo recommend this . That good we now av two as they would fight.

Great tablet, good battery life, excellent parental controls so Granddaughter is "safe" online, very robust, especially for a tearaway three-year-old who just wants to get into everything. Thoroughly recommend. Purchased the previous model (Fire 7) for my other Granddaughter and this granddaughter is always trying to use it so the other granddaughter should get a bit of peace.
