Brought this for my wife to look up items, play games and use to download books, which it does with ease. I have also downloaded a sat nav, although it does come with a map that recognises post codes.When we first pulled it out of the packaging it looked very big as we already have an older smaller model, but after taking it out of the house and discovered that it still fitted in my coat pocket I was convinced that the size was perfect for use anywhere by using my phones hotspot data function.

Very nice display, sharp and bright and with vibrant yet realistic colours. Sound surprisingly good from the presumably very small speakers - clear, good stereo effect, even a slight hint of bass. Perfect sound also optionally obtainable with some decent headphones attached.HD 8 just the right size for easy useability and watchability of videos etc, without being too bulky or heavy to hold.Touch sensitivity and responsiveness seem impeccable and certainly totally adequate for any normal use.

Lives in the kitchen mostly. As a kitchen screen it's faultless - displays recipes, plays on-demand TV whilst I cook, is well built/cleans easily.Outside of the kitchen, it's a little disappointing that it doesn't have better performance in general web browsing/twitter use. My c.4 year old phone is more responsive, but the larger screen size of the Fire just about makes it a better user experience overall.If you can live with the big A harvesting your user information, this is a bargain.

So I am individual who owns an iPad mini 2 and Microsoft surface laptop. I previously owned an amazon 10” fire hd kindle and it just didn’t do it right for me. This fire 8HD is perfect for light surfing in bed or at work ) etc. The battery life is amazing so basically a full charge will last 5-7days before the next recharge. Unbelievable huh. I use it mostly for Netflix, surfing the net (not a heavy surfer; otherwise I would switch to surface), games too. I don’t have the CONS yet.

I recently purchased the Amazon fire 8 and I can say that I love it so far. Perfect size for me (8 inch), I’ve previously had a tablet that was just over 10 inches which proved to be too big and not as portable as a result. This tablet also performs well with decent battery life and also maintains a very good speed. You can also download Google Playstore which is handy for those of you who may have a google/android tablet before. Great product and price - I would definitely recommend!

Bought for my 2 years old son to watch YouTube rhymes and playing games. Honesty touch isn't hat good like iPad but screen resolution and size is pretty good. HD quality screen. Some of the issues I found:*while watching YouTube if u scroll down the video u watching goes out of the screen *Amazon screen saver keep showing when u lock or charge the tab.*Not that easy to get all the apps like in Android or IOS.Everything else is worth for money. Cheap, good size and Quality screen.

Purchased this when it was on special offer this month, although still worth full price. I'm still learning about all the features, but so far am impressed with the picture quality, sound, quick touchscreen response and build of it. Also the onscreen keyboard is a good size for me, limiting typos for browsing online and emails. If I have one negative so far, it's the colour. It's described as 'marine blue'. But the shade is duller than seen on here or on other websites. I'll get over it!

I bought this as a replacement for my 7 inch fire tablet that i dropped. Though this is an 8 inch tablet it seems much bigger than my 7 inch. The screen is very clear and bright. The colours are vivid. The tablet responds quickly to your input. It does what i need. Mainly internet browsing and as a reading device. There are a large number of games and other software available. The battery life is good. I use it a lot. Battery lasts 2 full days of heavy use and up to a week of light use.

at first i wasnt inpressed as i was used to to use other tablet and the menu was going crazy and it would switch off by itselfbut then got hold of the new tablet, bought it for my daugter as her old tablet broke down, and she uses it to pkay and listen to music, its got good amount of space on the hard drive as well and works quickly whatever game she would try to play. The only minus for me is that its amazon apps so not all the apps you can get on other android devices are available.

Quite happy with this fire tablet although not, in my view, a viable replacement for an iPad. It’s a good e-reader though, and the ability to use audible and access other apps and browsers is useful. I ‘hacked’ it to allow Google play and this made it better still. I keep it by my bed as an e-reader, and find it less distracting than keeping my phone near the bed - but it has all the relevant capabilities, such as alarm clock etc. Screen a bit too reflective to use outdoors though.

Bought this tablet as a replacement for a very old Kindle reader.A nice tablet, works well. We use it mainly as a reader for Kindle books so probably do not use the tablet's full potential but it's nice to have access to Internet etc when needed.The battery life is OK, the charged Tablet lasts about 3-4 days depending how much we use it but for someone who would use it more games etc the battery life would probably be shorter.Overall, well satisfied with the purchase.

As a past-middle-age device-dummy, I find that the AMAZON FIRE 8 with Kindle is a brilliant little answer to my needs. It is small and handy enough to carry around, and comfortable for a good read - brilliant for photos, and a breeze of a keyboatd that almost types my emails itself, with just a nod and a wink!So many super-tech features make it a treat to use, so many options to customise it just exactly how I want, and there's always someone on hand to help if I get stuck!

First of all I am delighted that the Fire 8 is so slim it fits perfectly into backpack. Being 8 inch theres no tired eyes from staring at a small screen. The HD screen quality and stereo sound is brilliant for playing your favourite movies and entertainment on. A single charge gets the children through approximately 4 movies which is ideal for them. I'm so delighted with this product I now want to purchase one for myself and one for the kitchen and the dining room

I've never been interested in Amazon Fire or Alexa products.However I buy all of my CDs and downloads from there. This 8" tablet came to my attention and was on offer at the time. I thought I would try it out. It's sturdy and great for my music as it also has Alexa to find and play my selections.What clinched it for me was the screen and sound for music and video. This is really impresive for its size. For me a great entertainment tablet in a small package.

Bought as a replacement tablet for my daughter and I’d wish I’d got it earlier! Perfect for children, great inbuilt safety settings. There is a parental control panel which you can view all activity and add, remove or block any you don’t like. Easily set age blocks. There’s a few games you can’t get on it like other tablets but there’s so much to choose from she’s not bothered. All in all a great tablet for kids and I’d happily buy more for my other children.
