I bought it with the intention of using it to study as a portable laptop replacement - combined with a bluetooth mouse and keyboard. It does an amazing job of this.Battery life is even better than I expected, it typically lasts around 10-11 hours of screen use per charge - so even if you use it to study, browse the web and watch some TV, you'll still make it through the day without being tethered to the wall. A casual user will easily last days between charges. The screen is 1080p, with good brightness and reasonably deep blacks. My unit has no screen leak, dead pixels et cetera. Great for watching TV and for looking at photos. If you have a wifi-capable camera you can pass the photos directly to the tablet too.Speaker is decent enough for casually watching TV, but as with most more budget phone/tablet speakers, it's no replacement for a proper speaker. The processor isn't new, and the 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage may put some people off, but in real-world usage they don't hold it back at all. Apps open quickly, YouTube plays absolutely stutter free at 1080p. It happily juggles my bluetooth speaker, keyboard and mouse at the same time while switching between Chrome, Microsoft Word, YouTube, Netflix etc without any hang-ups. The only place people will feel limited is if they want to use the device to play modern games at high settings. Definitely worth purchasing a 32GB+ microSD card so you can store photos, TV and music on the device without filling up the on-board storage. It has proven to be an invaluable study aid. The sleek size and weight means I can fit the tablet, keyboard and mouse into my travel bag with ease. Take it to a cafe, friend's house or on a flight and I always have access to my files and applications.I highly recommend setting up SideSync on your computer. It's an official Samsung application which lets you drag-and-drop files from the PC to the tablet. Very useful for transferring photos, word documents, video files etc. When I bought the tablet, I wasn't sure whether I'd get my money's worth. But now I've had it for a few months and I feel like the value I get out of it far exceeds its price.

Ok going back six my first tablet was Asus 8 inch, ,it worked fine and introduced me to the use of android world, six months gone and on the routine charger of 6 to 8 8 hours, it failed to power on, I contacted Asus and they tried trouble shoot on the phone m but we were getting anywhere so sent it Asus for repair, bad news,,mother board gone and it was £189.99,,this time I was quite dependent using a tablet, , my wife bought me a Samsung 8 inch tablet, which was a wonderful piece of technology, ,I had a home desktop and a tablet, which was good enough for my needs,,this tablet did last over four years and then the battery life started to go down and I decided to purchase another one,I personally hate apple products because of compatibility issues, so I as my my Samsung had served me well so I was convinced already to buy it again,,initially I purchased Lenovo yoga 10.1 inch, that came with impressive specs, unfortunately it had to be returned due to its awakred design and ease of use,,as soon as I received the refund I immediately purchased this Samsung 10.1 inch tablet, its indeed an improved version of tablet, with full HD screen, speed is same as you would expect from a tablet, it's not a desktop or a laptop so there are downsides, like audio card &speakers are below average but for the price it's a good deal, I am indeed impressed with this one and would recommend for the first or second time buyers of a tablet, battery is around 100 to 13 hours, which is decent duration,,,connectivity is a breeze, multi tasking is beyond tablets as yet so you get a decent android with value for money, my recommendations are go for it, it won't dissapoint youDr hameed Faheem

Planned as a Christmas gift for someone who then decided on something else. This is a 2016 design. Bought in 2018 (not from Amazon) as a new product from a major UK store in a Black Friday deal. Kept it myself to replace an ageing Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 tablet. Essentially this is a solid device with some quirks. The main of which, to me, is the design is based around portrait mode as if it were a phone: the Home, Back and Recently used apps buttons are along the face of a narrow end; the stereo speakers are, too close together, on the edge at the same end while the front facing camera and Samsung branding is on the face at the other end. If used in portrait mode on a stand with the tablet the 'right way up'the speakers are blocked by the stand. It makes more sense therefore to use in portrait mode 'upside down' with the camera pointing up your nose, still, you can't have everything. However, landscape mode is more likely to be used: the keyboard is larger (am typing this on the device now), but for watching video or listening to music all the sound comes out of one end. Samsung why did you do this?Generally responsive although icons for apps seem to need a second touch before they act. The touch recognition is not a problem when browsing or typing. On the positive side this has upgraded itself to Android Oreo (i.e. 8).For media consumption the Amazon Fire 10 is better video and much better sound. But apps are limited. My old Linx 10 Windows tablet, upgraded to Windows 10 offers a better user experience for general use - showing my Windows biase probably.Value for money? Not sure.

This is a great tablet for the money....Fast and responsive enough....Problems are silly design faults.... i.e. navigation controlls fixed in portrait mode and not backlit.... ok if tablet is being used with a case/stand in landscape mode but if held with two hands in landscape mode.... too easy to hit the previous/app. history buttons by mistake.... That said... build quality is good... as you would expect from Samsung.... and user interface is easy to navigate... apart from one major flaw... that is the storage location cannot be set to sd card by default... Meaning if you want to store photos/downloaded files etc. on sd card.... you have to open the file manager and manually transfer them to the sd card...(select edit from menu.... select file... hit menu again.... select move file... select destination.... (Sd card) .... Lots of unnecessary hassle .... My Amazon fire HD8 automatically stores media to sd card by default (supported apps. also)... Moving apps. to sd card is more hassle on Samsung.... Settings /apps./see if app can be moved or not/select move to sd card......more hassle.....Apart from those two design faults ..... this is a great tablet for the money .... Performs effortlessly at all other tasks..... Don't know if I'm allowed to say this on here.... But I got mine off eBay (new sealed unwanted B.T. free gift) £104 inc. postage.... Bargain..... Was lucky though.... Most of the other ones were going for about £115/120 not inc. postage..... So the Amazon one is still a great deal at £143....?

The tab itself is good. It is exactly what I wanted. It is clear to read. The sound reproduction is good. I use it for teaching the Listening element of English as a foreign language and, as I become used to the apps, is becoming easier to use than having to play the listening texts through either my PC or my laptop where the volume is not as good as the tablet.Criticisms are these. The seller used UBS to deliver. The UBS trace your delivery link still had the tablet in Seville (I am 2 hours south of Seville) as the driver was at my door delivering the package. if I had believed the link, I would have missed the delivery. To access the User manual, one has to download it, either onto the tablet of the PC,and the web address, Samsung.com. is supplied for the PC. But when one goes to Samsung.com, the specific model number was not quoted. I queried this through the contact address on the site and got a reply that I should contact the UK address as I had bought the machine through the UK. This was illogical and unhelpful. One of my requirements was to be able to transfer (easily) files from my PC to the tablet. I can, but I wish that the user manual had a section to explain how.My criticisms are peripheral to the tablet which, so far, has met if not exceeded my requirements. So no complaint of the tablet whatsoever. My complaints relate to assumptions made by most tech suppliers that the end user is as intelligent of knowledgeable as they are.

I absolutely love this tablet! I refuse to pay Apple prices for an iPad. And had therefore put owning a tablet to the back of my mind. Then, this popped up in the sale. At roughly half the price of an equivalent iPad. It caught my attention. Reading the specs and owning a Samsung S8 phone I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did!Whilst it doesn't have as many features or options for customistation as my S8. It still has the potential to be 99% as functional and as practical as my phone.I use it for games, steaming live sport, catch up TV and box sets. As well as shopping and social media. But where it really impressed me was the quality of the video. It really is great for watching your favourite shows. The ability to Bluetooth tether to your phone means you can game, watch Netflix or Facebook stalk to your hearts content whilst on the go. And the screen cast option is great for mirroring whatever you want from your tablet, to your smart TV.I thought I might get bored of this tablet once the novelty wore off. But I still use it every day!Highly recommended product.

When my old tablet passed away unexpectedly, I was shocked at the feeling of slight panic that gripped me. I am not a techie type; I don't have a smart phone, just a basic talking thing to call the AA if I ever break down, not even a TV; none of the things that most people seem to need to function. But I realised, when the light faded on my old Galaxy tab, that I am dependant on modern technology as well. One of the reasons for my panic was that I would have to get to grips with new technology. I was so relieved that there seems very little difference between the old and the newer. The most significant improvement, as far as I am concerned, is that the charging port is on the short end,so the strain against the port, when used and plugged in, in landscape position, is far less. The touch screen does not seem as responsive as my old one, but that might well be the screen protector that I have gone for this time. The battery life is really very good, and I am making a point of not cluttering it up with unnecessary files to waste power. All in all, I wouldn't be without it.

Well, after having a very temperamental iPad mini that only would do what it felt like that day and me almost throwing it out the window I wanted something cheap, and as I have a Samsung phone I find android easier. I'm rapidly going off apple, ditched the phone too. I think for the price of this tablet it's a real bargain. Quick, plenty of storage and room for the sd card (I hate all this cloud storage)The screen is nice and responsive and it's all very familiar.Pictures, well , not the greatest but are passable, but I didn't get it for taking pictures on.It's a nice weight, I'm still getting used to the size as coming from an iPad mini it seems huge. I do prefer a square-ish screen but I'll get used to it.Battery seems fair as I'm on and off it all the time. Obviously I can see a difference in the picture but that's fine. Overall, for a budget tablet to do the basics, apps, internet, email it pretty much nails it.

I bought this for my mother direct from Amazon (i.e. NOT from a MarketPlace seller) after her hand-me-down iPad 2 became more or less unusable. Running Android 7.0, it really does represent excellent value for money. Even on my parent's paltry 5 Mbps broadband connection, it's surprisingly fast with apps opening in a flash. You can have lots of apps running concurrently and it copes with ease. The screen is bright and it has a massive 7300 mAh battery that runs for hours before it needs recharging. It only has 16GB of built in storage and almost half of it is taken up by the operating system but it does have a MicroSD card slot and you can double the storage with a MicroSD card for less than a tenner.Sturdy and well built, you don't need a screen protector but I do recommend buying a case. Overall, this really is an exceptional device for the money and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Easy to use and configure tablet. Reasonably fast. Admittedly not enough built in/onboard memory. You easily use up 16GB, but you can expand wroth a 200GB memory card. It has an extensive amount of apps through access to Google play store. Good quality camera, not as good as good get on a mobile phone, but you wouldn't expect that. The front camera is good enough for video calling and is good quality. Quite loud speaker, I'm deaf so this is essential. The wide-screen design is prefect for watching videos, browsing the Internet and reading emails. Overall an excellent tablet. I'm glad I went for this one over the new iPad 5 that came out. Over £140 saved with all the features I need.Going through emails is quick and a breeze. Apps and programs are fast to load.

The tablet came set to Spanish, the startup screen did not offer English among the many language choices. There was no manual or anything else to assist. I was obliged to set up all the initial options by defaulting, skipping, or guessing in Spanish until I eventually got to the menu screen. Then, with the assistance of Google Translate I finally managed to get the default language set to English - all-in-all a very stressful start to the Galaxy experience, especially as the device is a gift and I could have presented it without starting it up and been significantly embarrassed. Why sell to a UK purchaser set up in Spanish? Why is English not in the setup menu although it exists deeper down? Why no manual ?Hopefully it will be easier from now onwards.

Bought as a replacement for a Galaxy Tab E which with quad core processors just wasn't quite 'cutting it' anymore! The Tab A has Octa Core (8) processors and works a treat!Arrived with Android 7, but upgraded to Android 8. Handles 'time wasting' games like Candy Crush easily. Haven't tried it with graphic intense games. Expect it to perform well with Amazon Prime Video and other 'catch up' TV apps! Why waste money - if you're looking for a 'capable' tablet to watch video/movies/catch up tv and play occasional games - you COULD buy the MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE Galaxy Tab S4 - but why?***Forgot to say that the seller BONTEK, posted this item quickly, using Royal Mail Next Day By 1pm Delivery service and it was received by 10:30am!!!***

The picture is excellent, I can use it for movies if I want and the speakers are good enough to hear in a small room or within a few feet. I mainly use it for sheet-music so don't push it hard - but my son has played games and watched movies and it's performed flawlessly. Side by side with a similar spec iPad this tablet matches it in every way, for 1/4 of the price.Battery-wise, we travelled for 5+ hours watching movies and playing games and no problem. I don't do that much, but 'day-to-day' I use it for gigs twice a week - so screen is on permanently for 2+ hours - and 2-4 hours rehearsal between - and I can do 2 weeks between charges which seems pretty good to me.Can't comment on camera etc.as I never use them.

Not the latest version but then strangely the upgrade does not have S pen support. Very happy with battery life. Not had to recharge it yet! Touch screen is very responsive. Screen not easy to read in bright sunlight but better than my phone. I have not yet tested increasing screen brightness.I would have preferred a Windows device but nothing comes close to competing on battery life, weight and flexibility at this price point. Also it comes bundled with Android Office as an extra bonus.I've combined it with 128Gb SD card, case and keyboard. Set up and automatic updates were very straightforward.I find it a very capable portable office.Very pleased and satisfied with purchase which came at a great price!

When researching tablets I thought I needed a much more expensive one than this one but luckily I went into the Samsung shop in Edinburgh and the girl I spoke to asked me what I wanted to do with it and then told me the Tab A would be fine for me. The one they were selling in the shop was the 2019 model with 1.8Ghz processor but when I looked on Amazon later I found this one the 2016 Tab A with a 1.6Ghz processor so decided to try this as it was £50 cheaper than the newest model and it has been excellent, much better than I could have imagined. I'm glad I didn't spend £400 to £500 on a tablet.I have used it to watch TV on SkyGo and the battery lasted all day.So I'm really pleased with this tablet.
