What You Get================================The tablet is about the size and weight of a hardback book, although its rather thinner. It comes packaged with a data cable and a charging plug (the data cable doubles as the charger cable). There is also a headphone set (the device takes a standard headphone jack). That's all that comes in the box.Charging & Battery Life================================The tab is pretty much ready to go - mine didn't need charging - so there's none of that frustrating waiting around before you can start playing. There's a good day's worth of play in a full charge - maybe more, depending on how much you're using it. It doesn't take long to charge, though although you may want to be charging it overnight for use during the day.Getting Started================================The instruction booklet is rather small and only just detailed enough to get you started, after which you'd be well advised to seek out the full manual from Samsung's website product support page. It's easy enough to find, is actually quite readable and it does provide a lot of useful information that will help you get the most out of the tab.If, like me you're a tablet novice and are more used to the "IBM" format of most keyboard operated laptops and desktops, you will need to spend some time mucking around getting to know the tablet and familiarising yourself with the operating format. For instance, you don't need to "turn off" apps when you've finished with them. Simply return to the home page and the app will remain dormant in the background. However, the whole thing is pretty intuitive and it won't be long before you're doing Loop-the-Loops and Immelmann Turns.Apps & Capabilities================================As for apps, the tab comes with lots of them preinstalled and with access to a couple of app stores (including Samsung's own) where you can download plenty more for free or for good money. I downloaded Angry Birds - I've never encountered that game before and I'm hooked! I also downloaded Skype so I could talk to my brother in Australia and a couple of flight trackers so I could watch him fly home and pick him up from the airport on time. The tab has several movie and music players, ereaders (including a Kindle app), email and social networking apps, an internet browser (you have full web access) and several memo apps. There're also a couple of map/navigation apps - the tablet has a built in GPS, which is independent of the wifi - your tab communicates with sattelites! How cool is that?!Also, there is an QuickOffice app which allows you to create and edit word processing, powerpoint and spreadsheet documents. It's compatible with MS Office formats but the conversion from Excel into QuickOffice spreadsheet in particular is very patchy and the spreadsheet functionality is extremely limited. I bought (for a few quid) Documents-To_Go which is a similar and slightly better MSOffice clone.Interfacing (inc. Bluetooth problem fix)================================The Galaxy interface cable is a USB connector at the far end and a proprietary plug at the tablet end.Setting up a WiFi connection is easy. The Galaxy automatically searches for nearby networks and then prompts you for a passkey (if it's a secure or private network), which you only need to supply once. I will say that the strength of the connection varies from room to room and the Galaxy does struggle to make contact at times. My daughter's iPad has the same problem, so I suspect that it's my WifFi, not the tablet (see Accessories).Data input is by an on-screen keyboard, of which there are several different formats according to your preferences. As you probably know, there is no mouse. All that sort of stuff is done via the touch screen which requires you to learn a new "language". That said, it is easy to cope with although I found my fat fingers are a little bit clumsy, especially when trying to select some of the smaller icons or hyperlinks, so a stylus would be a good idea. However, you CAN zoom in on the screen to make these targets bigger and easier to hit.An inbuilt gyroscope allows you to rotate the tab through 360 degrees and view the screen in portrait and landscape mode. I have found it a little slow to respond - although it's more of an irritation than a real failing. You can also interface via Bluetooth. Now, I was having a terrible time trying to get this to work - try as I might, I couldn't get my laptop or moby to send a file TO my Galaxy - for some reason the sending device kept complaining that the transfer had failed or couldn't be honoured, despite the fact that the device could SEE the Galaxy. Then I discovered that I could send a file FROM the Galaxy TO the device with no probelm, and that miraculously cleared the pipeline and allowed 2-way traffic. Sorted!Screen & Speakers================================The 10" 1280×800 screen is crystal clear and the colour and resolution are impressive - very impressive. This is demonstrated by Samsung's default wallpapers which are vibrant, sharp and colourful. I've recently been using the Tab to watch movies in bed. Great! You can scroll between five 'virtual' screens which maximises your workspace and you can personalise it with your own wallpaper or Samsung's own.The speakers are tinnier than Robbie the Robot; adequate for for casual listening at normal levels but rubbish at elevated volume. But then if you wanted hifi, you'd have bought a hifi. You're much better off with a decent pair of headphones. The Competition================================And the competition? Well, I'm not much of a one for counting diodes or doing detailed research, I'm afraid so I can't say too much. However, my daughter has an iPad (I refused to buy one of them on basic principals) and as far as I can tell there's nothing much between the Galaxy and Apple's offering. Maybe some of the detailed functionalities will differ and the price will vary according to the weather/moon-phase etc etc, but that's pretty much all.Interestingly, a British High Court judge recently ruled (Judge Colin Birss - July 2012) that the Galaxy isn't as "cool" as the iPad*. Now, that for me is all the validation I need to go out and buy a Galaxy.I didn't do much research into the other 10" tabs either, but if you want an iPad, but don't want an iPad (if you see what I mean), this has to be a strong contender.Accessories================================I bought (and would advise that you do too) a protective case or cover of some sort, a screen protector and perhaps also a stylus. You can also buy a USB adapter set that allows you to interface with USB sticks and SD/MSD Cards (although you won't need the latter on the Tab2).Update: I have now purchased a Huawei E586 broadband hotspot for my Tab. This allows me to connect to the internet anywhere without the need to rely on my home or someone elses wifi signal. To make it work you also need to buy a sim card (eg: this Three 3GB mobile broadband SIM card - a great way to make your WiFi Tab truly mobile!Admittedly, all these accessories turn this sleek racy tablet into a bit of a logistical nightmare, but it's a small price to pay, in my humble opinion. Conclusion================================Basically, there is all you need here and more to supplant your laptop... Throw it away!Well, no. Don't. Even the best tablet is probably unlikely ever to take the place of a decent laptop, but it makes a very fine, lightweight alternative, with a few basic limitations (screen size, of course, storage space, and the on-screen keyboard is a little crude).I really think I could get to like this!

Straight out of the box, the Samsung Galaxy Tab2 trolls you. Instead of saying 'Ive been in a box for a while so my Apps are out of date' it gives you an error message with no apparent solution making you believe its broken and should be returned. It isnt, it just needs updating. The solution is similar to trying to shut down your anti-virus on a site that maybe a 'bit non-legit'. Just keep touching the error sign until it goes away, download the appropriate App (dont worry, its free), sign the disclaimer if you need to and all will be well. [*Also note that you cant access the customer service comments when the App is working so that is why there are no responses to the number of people who have been fooled by this - we just cant get on and tell you what to do].So after this hiccup, the tablet is rather great. Its almost if it knows exactly what I want to do with it - i.e. entertainment whilst travelling (books and games) and TV and video in bed. It provided all this with ease on a great screen. What more can you ask for? The e-reader is provided by Kobo and it is magnificent. Wonderfully designed, very pretty with superb download speeds to boot. The Galaxy screen is eye-scorchingly bright (surprisingly the default is in the middle - so I dont want to know how nuclear the brightness would be if I turned it up!) but you can turn it down, and Im sure even the most technophobic of luddites can work out how to use the e-reader and adjust the settings in no more than ten minutes. This I find is a good thing about Samsung - they dont buy into thinking coolness is making things hard to use. The touchscreen is as responsive as you want it to be. You wont be skittishly jumping from one place to another as you accidentally touch the wrong place - nor do you have to hit it with a hammer. The portrait / landscape re-orientation as you move the tablet is very good (this is the main weakness of the phone IMHO). The only thing I noticed is that it is initially a bit heavy on the wrists (and my wrists are by no means weak) so you may take a few days working out how to maximise your comfort. The comfort zone Im sure is there, but you may have to find it.The screen is an excellant size for watching films and TV and the sound is perfectly decent. Im definitely a sound snob, so I wont say its great, but if you take it into context, its pretty impressive. Again the controls are a doddle.I dont use it for music, so I have no comment on that - I prefer my music more portable. The only downsides are common to all pads - Samsung or not(1) They are fingerprint magnets(2) The cost accumulates more you use itI quite like paying for books as its an industry that I think needs a bit of money. Games and films, however, just look at it as a way of improving your geekiness as you find new ways to keep the costs down. For me, one of the bonuses of Android over say, oh I dont know, Apple, is that you appear to have more ways to save yourself a bit of a cash (I have absolutely no proof of this), but go easy on those Apps - it all adds up!If you get one - I hope you have fun with it!

I was going to wait for the galaxy note 10.1, but then decided that I didn't really need a top spec tablet at a top spec price. I managed to get mine a few weeks before the u k launch, on Amazon but it cost me a little more £329 when AMAZON HAVE IT IN STOCK you should not have to pay more than £299, if out of stock they seem to get them again in a day or so, so don't get stung on the price as some are charging more. After sseeing some videos I was a little disappointed as mine had not arrived at that time ....... I think a lot of the reviewers were concentrating on the fact that this tablet was a replacement for the galaxy tab 1.They were expecting a tablet of the highest spec so only concentrated on knocking this tablet in relation to the upcoming Galaxy Note 10.1 which is going to be Sammys top of the range tablet with a price to match.I like the feel and quality as well as the experience of the Samsung Galaxy range so did not want to stray in to other tablets around the same price range.I have found this tablet to be just a job for what I am wanting,E-mail gmail browsing the web, BBC i player, U tube, stream videos from my 2tb network drive via wifi (all share), play videos from the sd card, have a clear bright screen, it seem smooth and fluid to me, so I am pleased in that respect also, and the sound is good with the front speakers, but it's fantastic when I use the the Bluetooth to stream the sound to the Philips Android speaker unit.Almost forgot the flash player works great, watch the BBC and Sky News clips just like on the PC.I have now put in a 32gig memory card in the slot, so now that takes storage up to 48 gig. I have also used a usb adaptor to connect a 32 gig pen drive which has movies etc on, this works with no problem as does the small keyboard. What I don't need is a tablet to play fast action games and have not tried any, only my usual games like Random Mahjong etc.I do like to use the microphone to dictate text into applications as I am doing now for this amazon review.I have a galaxy s2, a galaxy note and an ipad 1 so I can give a balanced view in respect of performance .So my review is if you want a samsung quality tablet without breaking the bank buy a galaxy tab 2 10.1I just love the way of my google contacts and appointments keep syncronised no matter which item of hardware I use.Just a note that if you have problems connecting to your wifi , try altering the Channel in your router settings, I had to do this for the pad 1 but no problem with the tab2.Well I hope this helps you make your mind up, at least you can see review from a actual owner with no vested interest involved.TonyNow going to watch a film on this great bit of kit.

This is my first tab and, like many, I was unsure which to go for.The tablet wars seem to be between the iPad, the various Samsung tabs and the Google Nexus. I love Android and I'm not Apple's biggest fan so that narrowed it down to the Nexus and Galaxy tabs and I ended up going for the Samsung. Now, Samsung tab 1, 2, 3 or Note and what size?! Decisions decisions. For me the size was the easy question and it had to be the 10.1......not for any Freudian predisposition with size or anything, but more so that anything small would just feel like a bigger version of my smart phone. With Tab 1 now aging it was between Tab 2 and 3.....obviously newer is better right? Well...perhaps...but it all depends on what you want the tab for.The only real differences I can see after looking at the specs for each are as follows:Slightly better processor (1GHZ v 1.6GHZ)Slightly better front facing camera (VGA v 1.3 MP)Micro USB charging point v Samsung 20 pin pointDifferent type of display.Tab 3 is SLIGHTLY lighter and SLIGHTLY thinner.....and that's it really. RAM: same. Hard Drive: same.OK so processor, having tried both instore the tab 3 is SLIGHTLY faster, but not so much that it's noticeable....the front facing camera I would only use for things like Skype (nobody needs to see my mug with more pixels) and who uses their tab to take pictures anyway? It looks ridiculous. The Micro USB is a plus for the Tab 3 but you can always get a 2 quid adaptor to make up for it on the Tab 2 so it isn't really a fact. The display change I didn't really notice and I think unless you're a real techno buff you generally won't see a difference. The weight and thickness changes are so minute they aren't even worth mentioning but to try and cover all bases.So.....in my honest opinion the Tab 3 is Samsung's iPhone 5 to 5s upgrade. A few upgrades, but nothing ground breaking. Save yourself £100.00 and plump for the Galaxy Tab 2.To review the tab itself it's immense. Light, portable, battery lasts forever, crisp quality screen, quick, looks great, plenty of accessories, quick to charge.I've recently purchased the Samsung keyboard from Amazon and it has pretty much transformed it into a touch screen net book, separate review on that product to follow! Thanks Samsung!

Several members of the family had long awaited the UK release of Amazon's Kindle Fire and when, it was announced as available for pre-order, two placed an order in high anticipation. However, as reviews started to appear we very quickly realised some of its limitations - no expansion capabilities, restricted to using Amazon-purchased materials only (no third-party eBooks or music) and an Amazon- branded and limited version of Android were some of the negatives. I cancelled my order and the second family member soon followed, although not exclusively for the same reasons. An unexpected and in-warranty failure of a media product meant that there was a need for an immediate replacement and if it would serve as an e-book reader and work well with PDF files (which earlier Kindles don't too well, ignoring the mono-only issue), the Samsung Tab 2 with 16Gb was almost a £ for £ match for the refund she was due, and it could do and has done all she would want of it. With the ability to accept micro-SD storage which will expand the device's capabilities and capacity still further, it is pretty much of an obvious choice. The device will allow download and installation of the many Android apps that currently exist and, as Android expands its feelers into more products, there will probably be even more. However, I do not need to choose amongst 300 different Apple apps that all essentially do the same job; 10 or 12 is quite sufficient at present. Some may ask why not an iPad? Not everyone buys into the Apple hype and they are no less locked down and restricted as the Fire. Less known, perhaps, is that they rely extensively upon Samsung technology (hence the exchange of patent breach claims, legal suits and damages claims between the companies) and some, if not all, are undoubtedly built by Samsung as are many other Apple products, so why not buy a Samsung and avoid the Apple price premiums? I simply do not believe that the iPads are or ever were value for money. In any event, I am unsure that I really need a 10-inch device. As others have said, it may not be "as cool", but I don't care. I am simply too old to be considered cool. I am now buying one for my own use.

When I first heard about tablets I wondered what all the fuss was about. I have a pretty high spec laptop so didn't feel I had the need for a tablet aswell. I was wrong! Its a great device. I only really use it surf the net and watch netflix on it. Internet speed is very good but I suppose that will also depend on your router. Picture and sound quality in my opinion are excellent for the size of the product. I would say its worth paying that little bit extra and getting the 10.1 inch. It doesnt feel that big when your holding it but is perfect for watching movies on it. I feel the 7inch would feel a little small for watching movies. Wifi and bluetooth are very easy to use and so is the overall interface of the tablet.I may have found it easier because I have a samsung galaxy S2 aswell so they are basically the same thing when it comes to working the apps etc. I think its dead handy to have the option to increase the memory unlike other devices where you are stuck with the memory built into it. Its alot quicker to grab the tab and check things instead of having to get the laptop out. Skygo is the 1 thing thats my main bug bearer at not having available on the samsung as I use it quite alot. I dont know if its something that will be available in the future or not? Because of this I still use the laptop for skygo and the word packages etc but apart from that the tab pretty much does what I need it to do. Battery life I think it very good. I reckon I get 8/9 hours per charge. I prob use it for an hour or so a day max. As for the price I would say its very competative. Im not a fan of apple but I havnt used the IPAD so I cant compare but the price difference alone makes you lean towards the samsung straight away if your not that fussed between the 2 probably top tablets available at the moment. All in all I would definately recommend this if your thinking about a tablet at a decent price.

I purchased my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 after being sorely dissapointed with my original tab purchase of a Toshiba Excite. Although the Excite looks great & has a micro hdmi, micro usb & sd card slot it doesn't have a bevel around the edge so it was uncomfortable to hold after a short length of time. Also the screen started to flicker on the right hand side for no apparent reason & since having looked at reviews on Amazon it seems to be a problem most reviewers experienced.I have my Galaxy Tab 2 for a few days now & find it does everything I want it to. I can surf the web, check email, watch movies, play games and so much more. It's so user friendly especially if your used to using an android phone.Surfing the web is quick & easy.My only grip is Samsung haven't included the swype keyboard facility which was available on the original Samsung Galaxy Tab. I have this function on my Samsung Galaxy SII & having gotten used to it I really miss it.The picture quality while watching movies is excellent, the colours are vibrant, but l did find there was some reflection when watching dark scenes in a movie but I imagine this would be the case with most tabs. The sound quality from the front speakers has also been impressive even without headphones.Having an sd card slot was a big selling point for me as I can put movies on this for the kids & keep the internal storage relatively free. I also like that the sd card slot has a cover so your card is safe.Although the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 may not be as asthetically pleasing as the original I certainly won't be complaing as it costs significantly less than the original & has that all important sd card slot. You can also buy add ons like a hdmi adaptor which I will be purchasing so we can watch streaming movies on our tv.In my opinion this is a great 1st tab which offers an awful lot for a very good price.

Problem with this stuff is by the time its out of the store door a new model has been developed. I bought the old first samsung 7" tablet and it was like a brick. I didn't intened to make this purchase but when I saw them going for £136.00 I thought that a very decent price. I have been looking at the Asus Google nexus but owning rather a lot of Asus stuff in the past and presently I am very nervous with that brand. The Transformer Prime went back and I have just sold the Transformer TF300T. Far too many problems with them. I do like Samsung mobiles and other Samsung products so thought I would give this tablet a trial and see. Nothing special,no quad core no retina screen but it just does its job and to be honest I have not noticed any real drop in speed yet. I don't have eyes like a barn owl so the screen is also fine!I own the Galaxy S111, 11, Nexus S and the Galaxy Note and though they have better screen resolutions they do cost a small fortune. so....in terms of value for money and at this much lower price I think it a very decent buy. Simply tired of chasing and paying for the lateset, fastest, brightest, 'best' only to find the following month a new one has appeared.I think this little tablet will do what I want it to do and fit my needs and at the price I don't have to worry about losing hundreds of pounds within a few months. I would not pay top price for any tablet. Popped in a 32Gb card and off I go. I do like this galaxy 2-7 and the price paid made it a bargain.I will see how it goes and report back latter.Update 13 12 12. Nice tablet, does what I require without fuss. Fast enough for me and has a nice quality feel to it.I am pleased with this purchase, especially at the price I paid.

This is one brilliant piece of kit! looks as good as it performs, connecting to wifi dead simple and done in seconds. Reason for only 4 stars is that hd video play of personal videos is somewhat limited by original vid clip format. I have clips shot on Hitachi vidcam which produces .AVI files and clips shot on my Nikon P510 in .MOV format. Neither of these will play correctly with sound using any of the embedded or downloaded video players available. Solution is to download "HANDBRAKE" software on your pc/mac for free. This will enable you to decode vid clips and convert to MP4 format which can be bluetoothed to TAB2 or copied on to a micro sd card both of which the TAB2 plays in full HD with HD sound absolutely perfectly, video quality is outstanding. Presume this works for Mac users, my laptop is windows 7. Handbrake software will presumably work with either Android or Apple, Tip; select "high quality" setting for full hd MP4 result.Back to the Galaxy, lovely soft touch, very responsive screen if you use a stylus. If you are familiar with Android OS, finding your way round this little beauty will be a doddle. If not, view the online instruction manual, the enclosed booklet is useless. Battery life seems endless, I have gone for days whilst formatting video clips as above without recharging.Speakers whilst not up to BOSE standard are acceptable, use a decent pair of headphones, you won't be dissappointed.Overall I think this machine is just what I thought it would be - stylish, practical, user friendly and fast. Both front and rear cameras produce acceptable results even in low light, and there are multiple settings available for both sound and vision. If you are still in doubt, don't be, buy it!

Ok so first of all 5 stars may seem a rather high score for anything, I award it this based on its price compared to size and features compared to what else is out there so the score is justified in my opinion. Here are the main points I have to make:FOR+ Very nice quality crisp screen, not quite 'retina display' but almost nobody needs that, things look colourful and crisp and great for displaying my photography to show clients.+ nice dimensions, lightweight and small enough to carry anywhere. I would say always go for the ten inch, otherwise you might as well just get a phone. Ten inches is where tablets come into their own as unique devices.+It looks gorgeous.I don't care if some people don't agree I think in white it looks stunning.+It's smooth. It runs beautifully and so far has handled everything I have asked it to do without any kind of lag including some of the more complex games.+You won't be giving a penny to Apple.+Samsung is a great brand. With this you get great value for money, the tablet is responsive and the build quality is really solid and has a premium feel.AGAINST-The cameras are a little sub-par and will not replace any kind of real camera.Ok so to sum up, buy it! Don't go get an iPad because everyone else does, most people won't need the few things the iPad does better than this and even more wouldn't notice the difference anyway. If you are toying between this and the fusion5 xtra or premium like I was, go for this, it really is worth that small amount extra.Any questions please ask, I know how hard it is to choose one of these, I took weeks!

I am into Android world for a year or two and have owned several of them (both myself & my family). This tablet (P3100, 8GB, 3g) is very lightweight, sleek, has good battery life and though the pixel density is not as good as my Galaxy Note, I think this one has more "soothing" and "natural coloured" display with good viewing angle. But being different display technologies, white appears to have yellowish tint on this one and have bluish tint in my Note but overall both looks good. Performance wise this tablet is smooth with no "noticeable" lags even with multiple processes running in parallel. The UI is top notch. It has got almost all softwares that one might need to start with, viz File Manager,Office Application, and popular video codecs to name a few. Camera is weak though.Overall its a good value for money, however, one function that makes me worried is the Auto Brightness. When Auto Brightness is turned on, the brightness sets to minimum, and does not become normal until you place it directly under strong light source. This causes immense pain if you are working with lights off during the night. If this is a software issue Samsung should fix in later firmware update, but if it is a hardware issue then my kit needs replacement. Anyone else is having similar problems? For the time being I have set the display to fixed brightness, but that impacts the battery life so I would actually like to have the Auto Brightness working.

Had this for just under a year now and it's still one of the best tablets around, for one of the best prices.Physically, it has survived well. It has been in a good quality protective case from the start and hasn't broken. I never got round to putting a screen-protector on it, but I needn't have worried; in a good quality case and if treated well the screen stays scratch free. Like all tablets, the screen will pick up finger marks but these are only visible in reflected light. The battery life on stand by is excellent, lasting 2-3 days 'just sitting there'. I've not used it continuously until the battery ran out of power, but for the cake recipe, ebook or browsing reddit for 2-3 hours the battery copes very well and ultimately much better than a laptop. With full brightness it can be a little difficult to read in direct sunlight, but is sufficiently illuminating that I have it at one-quarter brightness when inside. The micro-sd slot allows for the total memory to be expanded, which is a definite advantage over some of the similarly-priced tablets on the market. The software has kept up equally well. Android is an intuitive operating system to use and is supported by a lot of developers, already having a large database of apps available. The tablet also handles running and switching between open apps remarkably well.Overall, would definitely recommend spending a little extra on this tablet - you won't be disappointed!

If you are used to an Android phone then you'll find your way around this with no problem. It uses 4.0. I bought it because I wanted a digital photo frame that did a lot more...and this certainly does. Speed is good. Music fine, if a bit tinny, it does a have headphone socket though if you want to connect speakers to it. Skype fine. E-mail fine. Surfing the net fine...I use Dolphin browser. GPS fine. Wi-Fi fine. Touch screen fine. I don't play fast shoot 'em up games so I can't comment there but I do play Backgammon etc and it's great. Battery life is about 8 hours while using it as a photo frame and about 4 hour charge. It's only drawback is the lack of sockets.... No HDMI, no USB.It's possible to connect the Samsung plug to HDMI and thus to your TV but it will cost you £60 odd for the adapter. Cost cutting...very poor especially as all the cheap China versions have loads of outputs. But if you're using it as a stand alone then overall no problems at all. One thing I have used a lot is while watching TV and we get the inevitable "where have we see that actor before" question. It takes 45 seconds to boot up and onto IMDB and I have the answer. I got the £50 cash back with no problem, it only took 8 weeks waiting!!!Overall very happy, pity about the misers at Samsung not giving more outputs.

Really pleased with this tablet which I bought from Amazon Warehouse with a substantial reduction yet still a 12 month warranty. It was new and I was warned it may not be in original packaging. It came in Amazon brown packaging but everything was there - tablet, charging/usb cable, quick guide. You just switch on and follow the on screen instructions. Resolution is terrific. It boots up quickly, is very user friendly and agile - a total contrast to the Blackberry Playbook 64g I'd been using recently. You can add a mini sd card, move your own data between card and tablet, and I bought a cheap 5-in-one adapter (under £3) so I could transfer photos from my camera (especially important on holiday as a back up).It was very easy to set up my personal email and a doddle to delete unwanted messages (you can only do them singly on BB playbook). Kindle downloads work perfectly and there's a choice of background screen colours though not typefaces as on a dedicated Kindle. I was unable to get Kindle on the playbook. When I checked whether any OS updates were available, it downloaded Jelly Bean (free) as this came out within days of delivery. I find the Samsung website 'challenging' (have phone too) and the user manuals aren't terribly good but you can usually find an answer by googling.

As with everything else you get for the first time, I need to get used to it but, so far, most things seem OK. I was disappointed to find out that it does not particularly like USB Memory sticks (although most of the blurb I read gave me the impression that it did. First you need to purchase an adapter so you can actually connect the memory stick then, after recognising that you have connected said memory stick, it tells you that there is no memory stick connected - I was hoping to be able to view photos stored on the memory stick as well as download from the internet/emails etc.I also don't like the fact that once you register an email address, that email account is accessible without the need to enter a password - bit worrying if you lose your tablet.Other than the points raised above, I have found most aspects of this product quite easy to use. The large screen (10.1 inches in case you hadn't noticed) is excellent and very clear.
