This is the one you want.Background: This is a game controller intended to be similar to the controller that came with the Nintendo Entertainment System of the 1980s. There are many brands of NES-style controllers, but some of them are intended to work with the NES classic mini, which has a proprietary plug. Therefore they will not work with a modern PC. Also, some of the other brands of NES-style controller (that are intended to work with a modern PC via USB) have received consistently bad reviews.Description: It looks like an NES controller, but is not identical.It has two extra buttons (above and below the horizontal line connecting buttons A and B). You may not realize it from the photos, but it has two shoulder buttons as well that might be pushed with your index fingers. It has a power LED and a Bluetooth connectivity LED and a micro-USB port for charging and (if you're using it in wired mode) data, all located on the 'top' of the controller. It has an inbuilt battery. The USB cable in the box is 1.2 m long, and of course you can use your own if you prefer. Packaging was really impressive, although it's all going in the bin.Bluetooth: It can connect via Bluetooth. If you have charged it up via its micro-USB port, you hold down the Start button for 2 seconds and it becomes discoverable. If you are using an iCade, you need to hold Start and the A button for 2 seconds. Note that the instruction manual and packaging claim that this device works with macOS, but do not mention OS X anywhere, and they explicitly limit the iOS use case to the iCade system, which is a niche amateur arcade gaming project.I have an old iMac that runs OS X 10.7, and it usually refuses to pair with the controller. But I have got it working through sheer persistence, and once paired it is reliable. That iMac is able to use the controller in wired mode flawlessly. I have an iPad and it completely refuses to pair using Bluetooth. Of course the iPad and iPod have no USB port and therefore this controller will not work with them at all. I have tested the Bluetooth capability of my iMac and iPad, of course. I conclude that there is incompatibility between this device and older iMacs and all iOS devices (except for the iCade case).Wired: If you want a wired experience, the device comes with a 1.2m USB-A to micro-USB cable. The wired experience is flawless on my 11 year old iMac running OS X 10.7.NEStopia: I use NEStopia on the aforementioned iMac. If NEStopia is running when you plug it in, NEStopia must be restarted before it will look for the controller. It then takes about 30 seconds to configure the buttons, and once that is done NEStopia will remember it for next time. I was shocked to learn that there are some functions of NEStopia that can only be operated with a game controller (such as rewind and quick freeze). You cannot use these functions using keyboard.Negative elements: All the buttons have a loose toy-like feel. But this is how the original controller was, and I want it this way for the authenticity. Also, you should check out the PS4/XBox One controllers if you intend to have a more generic gaming experience, because this device has no analogue joystick and the D-pad does not move diagonally.Final verdict: If you enjoy playing NES games via emulation, and you want a mostly-authentic controller experience, buy this one.

Can you smell the nostalgia in the air? No? Well you obviously didnt own one of the NES' back in the day. This is a copy of the iconic nes controller from the 80's 90's. It feels great in your hands and syncs up easily to your phone too. If you enjoy playing emulators on your phones then your in luck. Ive laid in bed, sat on the sofa playing games using this controller. You would think that this would give you the worst cramps if used for long periods of time. But it doesnt, i have played hours of Zelda: A Link to the Past without any problems and i have big hands.My only issue was trying to configure this to work with touch screen controls. It mentions in the manual how to do it.But because of the broken english written in there it was tough to make sense. The app aswell that is provided isnt so great either and probably just confuses you a bit more.

After 3 years, the device is still working well, from being stuffed in my messenger bag and carried all over. The Battery life is still good for several hours (or for sitting a month or so unused). Mostly used with my samsung tablet, and occasionally a mac, pretty much only on emulators. Games via steam are hit and miss depending on what control options developers have implemented, but 3rd party programs usually work if the game lacks native support. My only wish is that if it had dual bumpers, but for 8 and 16bit games it's got all the required buttons.If you want something for 32bit and newer generations, I'd suggest getting the SNES style 8bitdo controller with dual analogs. But for retro emulation,this is still a great and durable controller.

I first heard about how you could emulate retro games about a year ago and was excited to try some of the old games that i used to play as a child on the NES and SNES consoles. I have used playstation style pads and other bluetooth controllers but the controllers just didn't feel good. I decided to take the plunge and went for the 8Bitdo. It was very easy to set up, came in a very well presented box and it makes gameplay so much easier

Really pleased with this controller for my raspberry pi 3 for retro gaming. I found it responsive and easy to set up. Bought a second identical controller and got that working too for 2 player games. It took a couple of tries and a few google searches to figure out how to do this as at first the second controller kept thinking it was the same controller as the first but now I can play 2 player SNES games and I'm really pleased.

This controller is Perfect. Bluetooth connectivity to Raspberry Pi 3 works flawlessly. It feels just like the original NES pad apart from the extra buttons. (The extra buttons for me are a definite positive) The quality of the build is outstanding, I can't say enough about this controller. Well Done 8bitdo, well done ?? ??

This is the third 8bitdo controller that I have and they are great!Easy to use and connect to any of my devices.I have two of these on my Raspberry Pi for playing emulated games and one for travel.All in all, a great controller with classic style

This feels like the good old NES controller, save for the addition of shoulder buttons and two extra face buttons. (I was bummed out at first, but ended up appreciating it after using it with Blaster Master Zero on Nintendo Switch)

Bought to use with retro pie on my raspberry pie and works an absolute treat. Give that back in time feeling when I had the original nes.Very well made and comes really well packaged definitely not a cheap thing thrown together!

This is amazing. In fact I have just bought another one! It connects straight away to my android tablet and phone. And the battery lasts ages. And the box looks like a nes. Very happy - quality item.

I purchased the controller to play wirelessly on my old Nintendo NES and it works perfectly. I also bought the received and it connected very easy to it. Highly recommend

Great replication, blast from the past with a twist from the Future. Recommend this more for Android users as it has better Emulators compared to apple app store
