First of all, the description on Amazon is wrong. It states that it has rumble and motion controls but that is not accurate. On the manufacturer’s website this is not stipulated and this model does not have rumble and motion controls. When I contacted the seller (Choices Top) to tell them about the issue, they first asked me to contact them via WhatsApp (which as far as I’m aware, violates Amazon’s TOD) and when I refused, they asked me to contact Amazon instead. That is a very poor attitude and customer service on their part, in my opinion. Now about the pad:Light, well made, had no trouble connecting it to the switch and the lag seems minimal if any.The button layout on the Switch it’s good as it is but you can change it in the settings if you want to (Switch settings). It’s best for retro Sega games that use that button layout. The D-pad seems pretty good, maybe a bit soft and slightly loose but no problems so far with accuracy. As far as I know, you can replace the rubber connectors with Sega’s original ones which should make it firmer. All in all, I think it’s a great product for what it is, and I definitely recommend it for Sega games.

I've been using this for my Mega Drive and Switch so far, and I really like it. The shape, feel and spacing of the buttons are a very close match for a Mega Drive 6-button controller, and not much smaller than a Japanese Saturn controller. I find the contours much more comfortable, and the SNES-style shoulder buttons are far better than the clicky ones on Saturn controllers. Those who are used to the Mega Drive 3-button controller or the more angular western Saturn controllers may find this too small for them, but that hasn't been an issue for me. Syncing with different devices can be finicky, but once they're paired, it works really well.If you're buying this for a Switch, you might find the buttons don't map very well for certain games, but since the Switch added the ability to create and save custom button mappings from the Settings menu, this shouldn't be a dealbreaker. Playing Flashback with the original button layout felt like a massive improvement.I'm already thinking about getting a Retro-Bit receiver so I can use this as my main Saturn controller.

I missed out on the Sega Megadrive/Genesis when I was a kid, but I do remember playing at my friend's houses, and this controller invokes that nostalgia everytime I pick it up to play classic retro games on PC emulators or tabs. Honestly really easy to set up and play - bluetooth, very sturdy and at least for me, very comfortable.I don't use the shoulder buttons to play Sonic the Hedgehog or Contra, but I do use them when playing some Dreamcast games on the PC - to which their own I suppose. The d-pad is just as you would imagine it to be. For £25 this is a bargain.Whenever I take long flights, I carry my pad with me, and it's really hard to play those retro games on the touch screen, but with this I'm sorted. I know I'm biased as I love SEGA but if you're buying this for nostalgia, this is definitely not just £25, this is an investment for the future! Thoroughly recommend!

I bought this purely to play Sega games with, but it's actually a very good all rounder for a lot of games once configured within your chosen app!I use it with emulators to mainly play Mega Drive and Master System games with. The feel of it, even down to the button pushes, just seems authentic in a way that using other controllers couldn't achieve. It connected super fast to my Android tablet, and now connects automatically every time I turn it on. There doesn't seem to be any delay at all, and even games like Sonic feel as good as playing with a wired controller. Battery life is incredible too. I use it quite often and find myself only needing to charge it every week or two.Absolutely well worth the money.Feels solid and like something Sega would put their name on!

Been a fan of 8bitdo for awhile, this might be their best 2D controller.Build quality is really nice, Dpad is great. The Z and C buttons on Switch are the 2nd triggers which works well. You can swap A/B X/Y layout in Switch mode which I'd recommend. You can also change how the Dpad acts, is it a Dpad, Left analogue or Right analogue. Depending on the game this is really useful, Smash Ultimate for example.Manual explains these update your firmwareI use 8BitDo's stuff on Windows / Android a lot as well, normally with RetroArch and never had an issue, it's very easy to switch between the modes once everything's been paired and you know the button combos.Never noticed an issue with latency. No complaints at all might be my new favourite 2D controller ever.Does it all.

There are lots of companies selling retro styled game pads that look the part but don't feel right because of cheap parts or mystifying design decisions (my loft is full of examples of these nearly-but-not-quite controllers). 8BitDo seem to be the only company in this area who offer quality parts and smart connectivity decisions for compatibility across multiple platforms. The Sega styled M30 Bluetooth is another great addition to my growing 8BitDo collection of the SN30, SN30 Pro and NES30 Arcade Stick.Highly recommended - just hope they also do an M30 Pro at some point!

Not being satisfied with the Dpads in the current crop of Switch controllers (including Nintendo's own Pro Controller which has Dpad issues) I decided to try this one. The Megadrive and Sega Saturn pads have IMO the best Dpads, this one does not disappoint. I can comfortably pull of Street Fighter moves, and play Tetris without mis-dropping. If you want a controller with a great Dpad for games which require it, I can't see it getting any better than this.

Been waiting a long time for someone to do a 'proper' Megadrive/Genesis controller and other than the overall shape is a little different the button placement is perfect and the feel feels exactly like it did nearly 30 years ago. Having the addtional shoulder buttons means it's great for Saturn games as well as 3DO titles where the PlayStation or SNES controllers somehow don't feel right.Another brilliant controller from 8bitdo, Dreamcast next please.

This is now my favourite controller for all my retro gaming. The buttons are all very responsive, but the star of the show is the dpad. This has probably the best dpad of any controller I have ever used. It is extremely comfortable and responsive, I have never been able to pull of dragon punches in street fighter as easily as I have with this pad.Well done 8bitdo on another quality, well made controller.

one of the best dpads I've used in recent time controllers. I prefer over my ps4 and xbox dpads. Mostly use this controller to play my 2D games. Only issue I have with it is when using it for a long time my pinkie finger starts to hurt. But I can understand its meant to look like the sega classic, and this was common thing with them so. Whatevs.

Bought this to have a go on some retro games on the Switch and its an excellent bluetooth controller thats easy to set up and feels very high quality. Very good replication of the 6 button Mega Driver controller of the 90s.Its a pity it cannot wake the Switch up from Sleep mode but other than this, its great.

This pad is excellent. Good build quality, excellent d-pad, excellent buttons, easy configuration, decent battery life, great support and firmware updates from 8bitDo.If you like older games, want a fantastic d-pad experience, and the convenience of bluetooth, get this.

If you are into fighting games this is a must. The d pad is brilliant and the buttons are extremely responsive. This is far better than the pro controller for Street fighter 2 etc also it is extremely easy to pair and setup and for £25 it is a bargain. Great work 8bitdo.

This controler has the classic Sega Genesis/Mega Drive shape, but with all the modern conectivity - USB, Bluetooth, works absolutely fine on both PC and connected to a Nvidia Shield TV box, pairs sucessfuly everytime and just works perfectly.

A great gamepad that reminds me of the old Megadrive controller I had as a kid. But with six buttons!Wireless works great, connects to my devices without issue. Holds a charge well and I haven't noticed any input lag while playing.
