From a basic consumer standpoint, this is a great buy. The price is reasonable, and the product itself does exactly what you expect it to. I've given myself some time with it, and now feel comfortable enough to rate it and give it a review. Now, why didn't I give it a five star rating?- The trigger buttons are very resistant, and you may have to be a little more forceful with them than what you're used to.- The A, B, X, and Y buttons are solid and responsive, but they make about as much noise as an Atari keyboard when pressed. And if you're pressing vigorously late at night... well, then, I hope you live with heavy sleepers...- The edges of the underside of the controller are very sharp around the back of the thumbsticks. The plastic is not rounded off very well at all, so if you have long fingers then could be in for some discomfort where extensive sessions are concerned.- The D-pad is a single chunk of plastic. However, a press in any direction has a very satisfying click, because underneath that chunk of plastic is four separate switches that are super-responsive. I know a key detraction where the Xbox 360 controller is concerned is the D-pad, and I was a little skeptical with this controller because of the visual similarities, but the D-pad on this is far and above the D-pad on the Xbox 360 controller. But still, a single chunk of plastic feels cheap and clunky under the thumb.- The "Start" and "Back" buttons are positioned much higher on the front than what you may be used to, to make room for the "Mode" button. Now, this took a good amount of time for me to get used to, and I spent a long while turning the "Mode" button on and off because I was missing the "Back" button to open a map. These are my major problems with the controller, due mostly to immersion-breaking and comfort issues. Positives where this controller is concerned are that the wire is lengthy, all of the buttons are responsive and (with the exception of the triggers) satisfying to press, the thumbsticks themselves have a nice grip on them and overall (with the exception of the sharp edges under the thumbsticks) very comfortable to use. These are the reasons I have not given it a five star rating. I have given it a four star rating because I find it to be reliable, versatile, and good value for money. I would recommend this controller to anyone who was disappointed with the Xbox 360 controller and is looking for a more stead-fast replacement for PC gaming.

It's a great pad, for sure. But the changes made to the model between this and my previous Dual Action (Before it was called F310), are for the worst. It offers everything that you would hope, Windows recognises it as an X360 controller which means compatability isn't a problem (Most games have it as an option nowadays). There's no input lag, the sticks are responsive and durable and the buttons are all familiarly placed. However, they've messed around with the shoulder buttons. R1 and L1 are smaller than they were before, not by much, but they don't sit comfortably under your fingers anymore, requiring definite presses of your fingertip rather than gentle movements. Also they've made L2 and R2 trigger-like and analogue. I realise that Sony console controllers also changed their comparable "trigger" buttons, but that shouldn't have been an invitation to Logitech to do the same. Consequently the new F310 triggers have the same vague action that the Sony controllers have. The D-Pad is the same as before, they boast that it's four individual buttons rather than a central pivot but this makes virtually no difference whatsoever; in fact with the way it's constructed it's more likely to succumb to dust/dirt. I found this on my older controller where occasionally one of the directions would stick and require some disassembly to clean it.It also comes with a switch on the back to toggle between Xinput and DirectInput, this is especially useful for compatability on older games. Additionally if switched to DirectInput, it will happily work with a PS3 too (tested). So yeah, it's a great pad and it's more comfortable than the XBox-style controllers (at least for long-fingered hands), but if you're coming from older Logitech controllers then be aware that the shoulder buttons are worse.

I bought this pad because I wanted to play games like platformers and third person action games on my PC, but being only 5'1" tall and a lifelong Playstation player, I find the Xbox pad uncomfortably large for my hands and unfamiliar in layout. The layout is exactly the same as a PS controller, with PS3 style triggers rather than PS1/2 bumpers. It is a little bigger than the PS controller, which wasn't ideal for me personally, but I'm aware that I have particularly small hands for an adult. It's still perfectly usable and smaller than an Xbox pad. It plugs in and works with games immediately like and Xbox pad and the buttons are recognised as Xbox buttons, which makes it quick and easy to set up.The wire is really long; I'd estimate a couple of meters, which is fantastic if your spare usb is around the back of your tower. It's wired, so while you don't have the convenience of wireless, you also never need to worry about setup or batteries. As you'd expect from a 3rd party pad at this price, it does feel a little cheaper than an Xbox or PS pad. The buttons make audible clacky noises and the analogue and d-pad aren't so silky-smooth and the triggers are a tad stiff. While it is a little cheap feeling, it's perfectly up to task, working fine with the precision jumping and movement for Shovel Knight and feeling natural in that role straight out of the box.If you're debating whether to get this or an Xbox pad and you're comfortable using an Xbox pad, I'd advise the Xbox pad. If, however, you have smaller hands, and/or you really want something with a PS layout that your PC will happily recognise an an Xbox controller, or if you want something with the layout of a PS pad but a touch larger, this is an excellent value pad.

If you are looking for a good quality gamepad for your PC, then this should be at the top of your list.My Win 7/64 PC recognized it without any trouble and automatically installed a driver for it. No extra software is required to use the gamepad and no driver CD is included. It would have been nice if it integrated with my other Logitech gaming 'G' peripheral software instead of using the default Windows controller tools. The controller is made from good quality plastic, there are no soft surfaces, which is a shame, but the main controls are excellent. The cable is long and of decent quality. I like the click feel of the top triggers, ideal for shooters and pinball games.I like the feel of the bottom triggers which work well in racing games like Dirt. The dual analogue sticks have a rubber top and work really well. I have played Batman Arkham Asylum and this worked perfectly. The on-screen display showed the correct gamepad buttons during gameplay. There is a switch to use XInput/Direct input which makes it compatible with virtually all PC games.I'm playing through Bioshock Infinite, and this also works perfectly with the on-screen info being that of the controller and not keyboard. One nice touch in Steam is that once launched, if you press the large 'Logitech' button, Steam goes full screen and you can forget about the keyboard and mouse. The only thing that lets the controller down is the D-Pad which is raised and feels odd.Overall, some games work better using a controller than a keyboard and mouse, particular button-bashers like the Batman series. So give your keyboard a break and pick up one of these. It'a another great gaming product from Logitech.

The Logitech F710 gamepad takes many design cues from Microsoft's own Xbox 360 controller (soon to be replaced by the Xbox One). The core difference is how the controller feels in your hand. It's weighty and it's not quite as ergonomic as the 360 pad, but you get past this eventually. However, between the two I would always opt for the 360 version unless price was an issue. One big selling point is the ability to switch between xinput and directinput, which helps with some older games that may not work with other controllers. The latest release of FF7 for PC, for example, doesnt let you use the dpad unless you use xinput.Unlike the wireless variant, which suffers from latency issues once you move a little bit away from direct sight of the receiver, the F310 has no such issues as it is wired. It is lightweight and does not weigh your hands down as a result. The analog sticks have a nice response to them. The D-pad is nothing to write home about, but I have yet to see a decent D-pad made since the SNES in the early 90's!Overall, it's not a bad product. Definitely one of the better third party controllers out there but, if money ISN'T an issue, you may be better off with the official Microsoft-made ones. This would have easily been 4 stars if the wireless wasn't so bad. What about those of us who have a desktop PC but want to play games on a bigger TV on the other side of the room?

I bought the F310 gamepad primarily for the floating d-pad, and PS style layout of controller. I was surprised how raised up it is - which is great, it almost feels like a digital joystick. This is perfect for 8- and 16-bit era games (or similar) and superb for use with MAME.I also wanted sticks for retro FPS games. The sticks feel different to my PS3 controller, which is to be expected, but they are good quality and feel. Some say the dead zone is large, and it is relatively speaking, but that can be adjusted for. They are, if anything, a little too sensitive. The buttons are crisp and responsive, I have had no issue with them sticking or being too hard to press. The trigger buttons do not travel far,but more than I expected from looking at images of the controller, and they feel nice. Some criticise the trigger mounting, the way it drops down, as un-ergonomic. I think there is something in this, but a little experimentation and adjustment of grip resolves this.In summary, I could have got a cheaper controller that was mac and PS3 compatible, but the floating d-pad and the logitech brand sold this to me and I have no regrets - this is the best controller for retrogaming on linux or windows, IMO!

This Gamepad was acquired to replace a Microsoft X-Box controller that stopped working (after a long life). I was very happy with that but after just a fairly small spell of use, I preferred this one.The left-hand analogue stick and D-Pad are reversed compared to the X-Box controller although that took me only a short while to adjust to. I found the gamepad more comfortable to hold as it's just a little smaller. Apart from that, switches and movements feel assured and decent quality. The USB lead is shorter than I recall the X-Box controller as being, which may be a problem for those who are sofa gamers. For me, sitting at a PC, it was no problem and actually less irritating to have lots of cable tangled over the place. The cable is just under 2m long and very flexible, so wraps around the gamepad well for tidy storage.Another reviewer has spoken of issues with some games. All I can say about this myself is I had no problems (Windows & & Windows 8) - but it did sound like I had far fewer games than him to try it on. Amazon have an easy return policy if this is turned out to be an issue for you.

It is physically a clone of the Playstation's DualShock 2, but it's cheaper and works on PC with no hacking required.Pros:Games see it as an xbox360 pad.The bumper buttons are analogue. Lots of people don't like this but I think it could be useful because they are quite sensitive and they show up as a single axis so you could use them for steering or something. The dpad is different from DualShock but I like it because it's easier to hit diagonals. You can also swap the dpad functions with the left stick just by pressing the mode button.Cons:There is a dead zone on the sticks that can't be adjusted. Lots of people complain about it.I have no problem with it because I don't think you should be using sticks to aim in FPSs in the first place.I've had some lock-ups using it on Mac OS X, but officially it only supports Windows so I can't really complain about third party drivers crashing. It's a little bigger than the DualShock so it feels slightly wrong in your hands if you are a DualShock fan. The thumb extension is too much to reach the sticks if you don't have big hands.

I chose this rating as I got what I wanted, matched the description almost to the letter.I say almost, because I had to download software from the internet to make it function, but that is probably the manufacturers fault, rather than the seller.Item came highly recommended from many websites, usually top 10's, so it's competitive with others that cost twice as much, and I am pleased with it 100%.I would say that this is a great product for people who enjoy playing games on their Laptop/P.C. Also, if you enjoy PlayStation and are new to P.C. gaming, then this controller should be on your wanted list as it's a very similar feel/look to SONY's award-winning controller.Easy to pick up and play once the software is installed, and with good button feel and response, I would say it does a very good job without costing you a fortune.Maybe not "the best" controller out there, but possibly the "best value", especially considering you can get 2 of these for the price of some others, knowing that it will do the same job just as good.

I have used an xbox 360 pad for my PC for the last 10 years so I was a little unsure if I would like this pad as it is more like a playstation pad. I had nothing to fear as this pad is very comfortable to use for hours on end. The ability to change between direct input and Xinput saves me from using third party programs like joy2key, which I never really liked using. The dpad is excellent and way better than any pad I have used in recent memory, the only pad I remember loving more was the sega saturn mk2 pad. The triggers are easy to use and you finger do not slide off. The buttons are all nice and responsive. The logitech logo in the middle acts like the xbox logo button so it will bring up menus in steam big screen etc.Don't know what else to say really, all in all it is an excellent joy pad and one I am very pleased I took the chance to buy.

Works well with Steam although can not change the operation of the buttons within the Steam controller setup. Downloaded the software which enables me to input button operation from Logitech and works very well.Update: Having used for awhile now and finally managed to understand, up to now at least, how to program the controller. Their is a Logitech webpage which gives some limited info on how to program but mostly I had to learn by trial and error. Am using it on Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator which is setup for keyboard and mouse and finally managed to make the controller work with it and it functions very well. So great,it's a pity Logitech didn't push the programmable side of this controller with more examples in their webpage.

I've had a couple of cheap Xbox imitation controllers for my PC and they've just generally died on me. So I ordered another cheapo, which died after 5-10 minutes of use. Finally I caved and decided to go for a known brand, whereupon I found the F310.This controller isn't going to blow anyone's socks off, but it is solid. I was losing hope of finding a decent affordable gamepad, to help me have a bit of fun in Rocket League, but this fits the bill nicely. No it's not the most ergonomic controller out there - frankly some of the cheapo Xbox ones felt nicer - but IT WORKS. And it's solidly built, unlike a cheap import.I'm very happy with my purchase and I would recommend it to anyone looking fora good quality and affordable option,

A very normal game controller for a computer. It feels comfortable in the hand and has all the normal buttons and levers.I like to play Lara Croft from time to time and have a couple of other controllers and this one feels no different to them. It works well I found it easy to use and hold.I am no gamer by any sense of the word but managed to use this comfortably. Ok yeah I still have to shout 'help what do I do now' to the kids when I get stuck (which is fairly frequently) but thats usually because I have got myself into a difficult bit in the game not because I need help using the controller. It would be handy if it really did control the game then I could sit back and go 'oh I see that's howyou do it!'

This is a weird one for meAt first I thought I had wasted my money as I didn't like the grip much at allIt just didn't seem to hold well in my handBut now about a week later I seem to like it, for some games its absolutely perfect and as I dont like using my both my fingers for the back triggers. The only real complaint is that sometimes it's pretty hard to press the bumpers as they're quite stiff but I'm not sure if this will get better over timeExelorometer so even the tiniest inputs are registered , anybody saying it has huge deadzones is dead wrong. They probably haven't configured the dead zone settings in game.Perfect for fps imo and a quater of the price of a xbox one or par controller.

Could be considered as a clone of the original PS4 controller. But definitely cheaper.Big advantage for me is the fact that the bumper buttons are analog. Most people would not agree with me but it is useful because the newly developed digital buttons are not as touch sentisive and they show up as a single axis so you could use them for steering or something.Quite a professionally made controller which can be easily used for gaming not only on consoles but actually on PC or Mac. Easy to use and perfectly suited for any gaming mode. No problems with buttons or joystick. This Logitech product is definitely better than most of the controllers on the market.
