I've had a few non-official PC games controllers and this Torid from Speedlink is definitely one of the better ones. It's easy to setup, just plug the little USB dongle into your PC and switch on the Torid controller, they find each other and pair almost instantly and you should now be ready to play. On my Windows 10 computer there was no need to install the supplied driver (which comes on a CD) and Windows 10 doesn't even need to download anything, it all just worked. You can switch the controller between XInput and DirectInput modes by holding down the Speedlink button for a few seconds so it should be compatible with almost every game you own - if it isn't recognised by any game, quit the game and switch modes then try again, this has worked for me every time. In DirectInput mode the controller is recognised by Windows as an official Xbox controller and the two shoulder buttons L1 and R1 have full analogue functionality - there's also an option to switch between two D-Pad modes. In XInput mode the controller is slightly more limited and the L1 and R1 buttons aren't recognised as full analogue controls just switches. However, in both modes you can assign the Turbo function (which gives constant rapid fire) to your choice of button. The construction feels really good and the controller has a nice weight and a solid creak-free feel. The micro-switches all have a nice positive action and the joysticks are well-calibrated and feel responsive. It feels like it could take a bit of punishment and survive in full working order, although it's early days for ours so far.The controller will also work with the PS3, although I haven't been able to try this out. I guess an attraction for some PS3 users is getting a controller with an Xbox layout with the D-Pad on the lower left, but you don't get all the functionality of some official PS3 controllers - there's no motion sensor onboard and this controller won't switch on your sleeping PS3. It does have good Force Feedback effects though which will work with compatible PC games too.Overall it's a really decent and solidly made controller at a competitive price and avoids that cheap hollow feeling some have, there's a nice weight to it and it's not over-large so works for smaller hands. If it lasts for the full quoted 10 hours on a single charge (we haven't counted) then it's a worthwhile addition to your gaming setup that's going to leave you with a bit more cash to buy games, which can't be bad.

I've used the previous version of this controller and quite liked it, although it isn't perfect. First thing you should be aware of if you plan to use this with your PS3, is that the button tops use ABXY instead of the Sony symbols. This definitely gets confusing when a game is telling you to hit X, which on the 360 controller is in the SQUARE position on a Sony controller. If that sounds confusing, well it does take a little getting used to. On the other hand if the button placement is already second nature and you don't need to refer to the actual controller, then it's a minor issue. On Windows 10 the controller was detected automatically when I plugged in the little dongle - I haven't installed any drivers or software off the disk and would advise you not to unless absolutely necessary.Speedlink's software tends to be dire. You hold the SPEEDLINK button (equivalent of the central XBOX button) for 4 seconds to switch between PS3 and PC modes - there's a more technical description of this, but essentially that's what you do. If you're playing really old PC games that predate the 360 controller becoming standard, you might want to try them in PS3 mode if the 360 mode isn't working for you. When gaming on PC, I'd say the Speedlink pad is a little less accurate to use than the official 360 one. The thumbsticks seem a tiny bit shorter, making them less precise to use. Not an issue for most games, but it feels a little off when "aiming".Certainly far cheaper than the official wireless controller plus separate dongle. Not bad. 3.5 out of 5

This controller looked a bit cheap, but once I started using it, I was pretty impressed!Modelled more like an Xbox controller rather than a PS3 controller, it took a moment to get used to the position of the left control stick (it's top left) but this literally took seconds to get used to.To use this, simply plug the Bluetooth receiver into a free USB port on the PS3 and the controller is instantly usable - as long as it is charged of course! The internal batteries last well, easily the advertised 10 hours, and this is far better than some some cheaper wireless controllers which require AA batteries.I've had speedlink wired controllers before, and as with this they've felt a little cheap but I've had years of use out of them so I am not concerned over quality. This feels very comfy in the hand and is cheaper than a genuine Sony Playstation controller. I've used it with my laptop (running Windows 10) as I run some gaming emulators to play retro games and it worked flawlessly on there. In a nutshell: A controller which performs well and is comfy to use. It costs little more than some wired controllers.

This gamepad from Speedlink is quite obviously based on an Xbox 360 controller, it even feels similar in the hands. The difference comes in the price and the fact it's wireless out of the box and can be used for PS3 as well as PC.Installation was fairly straight-forward, just pop the tiny USB dongle in to a USB port, wait for it to register then insert the disc or download the driver from Speedlink's website (just google Speedlink Torid and it should be the first option). Once installed, hold down the round large centre button, which will flash blue until it finds the computer and pairs, then you're ready to go.I've played a few games with the controller.Slower games like Minecraft on Windows 10 store are fine but I did find that faster paced shooters like Just Cause 3 lacked a little of the precision I am normally used to with an Xbox controller on the PC. The general quality, though, is excellent and I do love the styling and colours. It's not quite up there with official Xbox controllers, but the Torid is certainly not far off and the tiny USB dangle is a far better design for slimline laptops.

Was cautious of aftermarket pc pads as have had some duff gioteck stuff in the past, but also some decent logiteck and power A gear. So thought would just give this a try and return if no good. Item arrived very quickly as usual from amazon, it comes in a large black box, which contains:-Pad with built in batteryMini USB cableUSB wireless dongleDriver CD (which didn't use)I got this pad as replacement for very a old and crusty xbox 360 pad, chose it specifically switchable XInput and DirectInput modes and the built in battery. Pad easily charges by the included short mini usb cable and the usb dongle for wireless works fine, just plug and play, windows 10 found drivers so didn't use the driver cd.At first had issues with switching modes but just downloaded latest driver from http://www.speedlink.com/?p=2&cat=4131&pid=33285&paus=1 and all was good, to switch mode hold the large centre button in for 4 seconds and the led will go off for XInput and on for Direct Input.Fits great in my hands, much lighter than wireless xbox pads and charge holds for ages. Infact so good I brought two !

Honestly better than the Xbox 360 controller in every single way. It's harder to break, the bumpers are clicky like a mouse instead of a button that the Xbox 360 uses which in my opinion feels far better, it also makes the overall bumpers more durable, I've known for 2 of my previously owned Xbox controllers to break because the bumpers stopped working as intended, coming loose, hard to press down and getting stuck. This controller will never do that. It's extremely cheap compared to other controllers on the market. The companies name isn't kidding, "Speedlink" made a controller that doesn't require any setup, its plug and play on any console supported and any PC.I used to spend hours fixing up my PS3 controller on my PC, this thing required less than a second to plug in, so overall improvement. If you want a controller to use on PC, this is the way to go. No need to spend extra for something that is barely better (or even worse) than this.

This is good enough for a casual gamer like me. It was pretty easy to get set up and to immediately start using it. It is for the most part pretty standard. It has worked with everything I have tried it with so far. It feels quite nice with a reasonable amount of give to it without any of the controls being too slack. It is nicely sized and weighted. This isn't amazing but nor is it terrible. I would imagine that if you are a more serious gamer than you already know what you want in a game pad but if you are a more occasional gamer than this should be a reliable and standard game pad. You might prefer others in a similar price range but that generally be down to personal preference rather thanthere being anything particularly wrong with this.

OK, so the gamepad comes in a very colourful box, emphasising that it is Windows compatible and also PS3.You get a quick install guide, for once the written instructions are very good and the image ones are a bit useless.I had my concerns about this being truly PC compatible but it is. I am using Windows 10 and it installs as an Xbox 360 controller for Windows which is great. The controls on the gamepad are VERY easy to use. In fact I think its impossible to make one that is more so. The buttons for instance are just where your thumb wants to be and the rotating controls are beautifully crafted for your thumb movements. If this kind of controller is new to you its very easy to get use to.All inall this controller is a must for PC gamers

This controller is lighter than a standard X-Box controller for a PC and has nice grips on the side to reduce slipping, and of course is wireless. It is responsive and works well on the Assassin's Creed games. When it's not in use, the controller shuts itself off to preserve its charge. The 2 minor issues against it are that it doesn't include a compartment to store the USB dongle, when it's not in use and it uses the old USB mini connector for charging, rather than the ubiquitous USB micro connector that is standard for most devices, nowadays.

A good quality affordable games controller.Purchased for one of my grandsons who uses it on his Windows 10 PC.It is fast and responsive and easy to install. The lad uses it for Call of Duty, Elder Scrolls and a whole host of other action games.

Used and worked well on our old ps3 and I've connected it to my windows 10 laptop with out issues. I don't have any games to play on the laptop though so I just confirmed it was recognised.Comfortable to hold and good value.
