Good for tomatoes and small button mushrooms. It struggles with squishy things. I love it because it produces uniform slices, which isn't guaranteed when I use a knife, and does so rapidly. I admit I also like it because it feels gadgety :-) The slices are a tad wide for my preference but no one's complained, and maybe the slices are the width they are to stop debris being trapped in the grooves as sometimes happens with my matching Zyliss Egg Slicer & Wedger ASIN B007W0SI1E.The darkish red and white colour scheme is pleasing. It feels pretty sturdy and, being of some weight, doesn't walk about while using. Bought March 2016 and used regularly, and it looks like new; this review was written in July 2019,

This is a product that really works, I have tried a few gadgets in the past that were not up to the task reducing tomato's to a mushy mess. The Zyliss Tomato Slicer has cut through the hardest tomato with ease, even a very soft tomato well past it's sell by date is sliced and not reduced to a a pulp by this slicer.The cutting blades are angled and have spikes spaced along the blades to pierce the tomato and aid the cutting action, easily cleaned under a running tap. Quick and easy to use, does not slip or slide in use, if you love your salads then this is a must for you. it saves time and energy, and Really Works!!

I purchased this device after slicing a finger instead as well as a tomato for the nth time. It works very well I find it important to press very gently to start the action otherwise there is a risk of spurting some juice. It slices little thicker than I might by hand but no matter - I have used it persistently since buying it a few weeks ago. After use, a long bristled washing-up brush helps to removed seeds etc from the base. I have no hesitation in recommending it.

I have just used this for the first time and found it excellent. It does need a small amount of pressure to push the blades through but nothing beyond what you might expect. The slices are slightly wider than I thought they would be but this helps keep them stable. We have also discovered that a gentle rocking motion as the blades are pressed down helps to keep the tomato "together" for easier lifting out.

Cuts each tomato and can also be used easily for eggs. Moderate pressure required to cut through it. The slicer cuts quite thick slices so if you want very thin slices this product will not suffice. The image is accurate in terms of how large each slice is after cutting. An average sized tomato will slice into 6 slices. Larger tomatoes will fit.

The product looks quite substantial in it's build and I'm confident it will do the job of slicing my tomatoes adequately. I bought it, not through laziness, but from a health point of view and I hope it will be a great asset to me. I feel that Zyliss think about their products a great deal before releasing them onto the market. Well done!

Mainly, plastic with a little metal, as a cutting edge. Such a simple concept and design. It's brilliant.Slicing a tomato takes, less than, two seconds. Seriously.Only thing, even, approaching a chore is cleaning the blades but that's, just, common sense.The person who designed this, deserves a bonus. Well done and thank you.

I never believed that slicing tomatoes could be so easy. It's also easy to clean; just give the blades a slight scrub under the hot tap after use or put the whole thing in the dishwasher. It's a "must have" if you make a lot of salads or, like m, just want to put a few slices of tomato on to a pizza or on cheese on toast.

An Excellent Tomato Slicer. Very Sturdy, extremely sharp. I don't know how I have managed without this slicer. I use it most days. I would recommend this slicer. I think the price is reflected by the exceptional quality, you could possibly purchase a cheaper one but this one is made to last I believe.

A really great gadget for cutting tomatoes. I can only use one hand and it is well made and has a positive action, I have cut other things with it as well like small onions and a cooked potatoe. Without this gadget I would be unable to do this. It's a must for sandwich making!!

Works very well. Slices evenly and doesn't leave a mess. However when removing from the dishwasher the base always holds water that needs shaking out. This is due to a small hole in the base. Apart from that it's worth it and takes the mess out of slicing tomatoes.

You have to take care when washing the rough-edged cutter-blades food things stick to them that often need removing by hand. The blades were dulled quickly. But, for someone who cannot cut things with a knife for medical reasons, I still love it!

This product works well as long as the tomato is not too soft, in which case you will end up with a squashed tomato rather than a sliced one! Other than that it's a good product that's well made and easy to clean.

Although this product is very good, easy to use and sturdy, the slice thickness is not adjustable. The slices produced are too thick for my purpose and I am therefore returning the product for a refund.

I found it ! The perfect slicing tool for my friend with Cerebal Palsey as she only has one hand that works. She is able to put the back of her hand on one side and slice every time.
