I bought one of these as I used to hate peeling potatoes. My hands would get wet and starchy and due to the tricky shape, certainly of smaller potatoes, would slip cutting my fingers more often as I'd like. Some people don't have this problem and can peel fast and easily with a manual peeler. This product is not for them but it is ideal for me. It has a safety blade which prevents it from cutting you even if you're bad at peeling like me (I still managed to cut myself once as I was going way too fast and really slammed it into my hand but with a normal peeler I would have cut myself many more times by now).The negative reviews initially put me off so I thought I'd give my opinion to others who may be thinking of purchasing.

OK I was a bit nervous about buying this as some of the reviews were not good. I bought this for my Wife who has severe arthritis and it is absolutely briliant. She finds it very easy to use and raves about it to all her friends. I can't peel things with a knife to save my life, but even I can peel perfectly with this.It's great buy one, you will not be disapointed. To anyone who has one and can't peel with, I would suggest you read the instructions again.

I would not want to be without one of these. I hate peeling potatoes but this makes it so much easier and quicker. It can be a bit fiddly to use on very small veg or if there are deep ridges, but it is a clever and handy little tool. I would miss it in my kitchen

This has to be one of the best hand peelers around! It can be used with or without batteries and so effortless to use! Well made.Well designed.Well priced.5 Stars all the way!!!

Considered very good at time of purchase but superceded by cheaper non -motorised peelers although still a boon for those people with dexterity problems.

Bought this for my daughter as she is left handed & finds peeling veg difficult. She says it's a fab little gadget & would definately recommend it.

Would not be outthis product. As I have problems with right hand; the peeler makes peeling spuds easy.
