As an Architect I do like a nice bit of concrete and this is formed of a nice smooth cement block with a tastefully discreet Wusthof logo near the bottom. It looks like it's only lightly sealed, if at all, so it's best to keep the knife block a little bit away from anywhere it may get splashed with fat, oil, saffron, coca-cola etc. as it won't look as good should it have spatters on it.The knives slot into a stained and varnished wooden top, which looks nice, but doesn't hold them snugly as there is no fibres or any other means of gripping them. That's a little disappointing at this price point.Overall,
