I will start by saying that I hate online play. I hate Call of Duty and mindless shooting games. I prefer fun games that I can play on my own, at my own pace. My ps4 sits next to my SNES, PC-Engine and Amiga, they all get an equal amount of use. If you are like me and are utterly disillusioned with some aspects of modern gaming, you will thoroughly enjoy this game.If you're familiar with the Worms franchise then you know what to expect. If you haven't played it before, skip to the next paragraph. Nothing much has changed with the exception of new weapons and some interesting new scenery additions; there are objects that contain liquid that spill out and fill the landscape when burst.There's also a container that releases noxious gas when burst. These add a great extra dimension when playing.Another thing worth mentioning is the fact that there are different worm classes. Scouts, scientists, soldiers and heavy weights. They each have different skills and movement abilities. On the whole though, this is still worms.If you're new to worms and you're looking for a new ps4 game that doesn't cost £60 then this game is the ideal choice. The premise is simple. You control a set of worms on a flat landscape, and armed with an array of weapons you must destroy the opponent's worms before they destroy you. You play on a turn by turn basis, moving around the scenery against the clock. There's a story mode, vs mode, and a myriad of other settings to play around with, but that's it in a nut shell.The graphics are nice. That's all there is to say about them. But come on, it's worms. Not Destiny. If you were expecting a sexy next gen 3d remake you're gonna be disappointed. But in my opinion, worms is about fun and this ps4 offering delivers that in heaps.Oh, and the icing on the cake? The actress who plays Jen from The IT Crowd does the voice over. How awesome is that?It loses one star because occasionally it's a bit tricky to make out some of the scenery edges but that really is a teeny tiny niggle.Quite why this game is so cheap and has so few reviews is beyond me. It's insanely good value and will keep you entertained well into the future. The perfect antidote for the modern mindless fps nonsense.

The customisation of the maps (addition of mines, extra crates, etc) are a plus. Also they have introduced fat worms to every team; they struggle to jump and move around and apon death create a considerably larger explosion than their skinnier companions. Of course the return of the vast majority of our favourite weapons is great however I do have one major complaint that I hope never makes a reappearance in a '2-D' worms game:At first you think ah cool it's our classic 2-D worm game with a cool 3-D effect going on with the objects. However you'll soon find after having blown up half the landscape with the return of our favourite Armageddon air strike that you can't really tell what is there or not.In previous games the destroyed land would be clearly shades out- with this 3-D effect going on it's much harder to tell. If you can bare with this (in the grand scheme of things) minor issue then you will have many more of those great hours of armageddons, concrete donkies, banana bombs and holy hand grenades! See you on the battlefield.

If your child likes Minecraft, they should love this. My lad managed to crack through this fairly quickly, but he did have a fair few hours of fun on it, and at the price I paid I'm not complaining! Season Pass disk means that future episodes are included, so it's great value too.The adventure itself is linear. There are dialogue options that can be chosen but this doesn't substantially affect the course of the game. Don't buy this if you're thinking it's a Minecraft version of Elder Scrolls, because it certainly isn't. This is aimed squarely at children and/or Minecraft fanatics, not hard-core adventurers!

Being a big fan of Worms pretty much since it began, this was a must buy to go along with our newly purchased PS4. Great fun and I like how they haven't changed things too much from it's initial idea - often a big problem I find when companies try to re-release and update retro games! We play it most when we have a group of people to play the versus mode which is great fun, so haven't had much of a chance to do much of the campaign. From what I have done, it seems it will be fun and not too complicated when I eventually get around to playing it.

Best worms game I have ever played!!! It's not like the traditional worms games it's based on accomplishing missions in single player mode as I don't play multiplayer modes so can't comment on the part of the game. The missions are interesting to do, not too hard or too easy. If you like worms then this is a definitely worth buying. You can get it free with Xbox gold at the moment of writing. A very enjoyable game that you Can pick up and play without too much thought going into it.

Worms has always been one of my favourite videos games, and this is just another brilliant addition to series. Its back to its 2D way of playing but still has its wide team customisation and level designing. Plus the addition of a new water mechanic that allows you to drown enery worms without having to knock them off an island adds another level of awesomeness to the game. I would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of the Worms games.

I've been a fan of Worms since the start, and while it doesn't add a load of new gimmicks, there are new weapons and game modes with a flashy upgrade to the graphics. As usual had a barrel of laughs and good times with other people on couch co-op (2-4 players). I highly recommend it as it is a great game for the price although may be prone to come down in the near future.

If your a worms fan then you will love this, the missions are good and challenging the other game Alien Invasion is a lot of fun also. only issue with online is there are hardly anyone on there who play online which sucks a bit, but this is a lot of fun i enjoy all worms games Armageddon being my favourite but this is awesome highly recommended!

The little critters are yet again waging war against one another so get ready for some huge addictive fun. If you like the classic worms games Worms Battlegrounds will not disapoint as it is a 2D game with a 3D twist. 5/5 Very addictive buy it now.

This is such an underrated franchise. Worm's is great for parties especially alcoholic ones. Works as good drinking game. Drink for every death. etc... One of the all time best indie games imo. Also I love the new class system added to the gam.

This is classic worms for next gen consoles. The voiceover on single player is fairly funny with a posh sociopathic cleptomaniac Lara Croft a like gives you your jobs to do. Other than that it's worms - as worms has ever been - as it should be.

This is a wonderful game for families. My husband played this growing up, so it was a great gift for his birthday! The characters are silly and each person gets a turn one at a time, which can take up some time, but it's fun if you're patient.

I thought this game would be like it was back in the day on ps1 but it was more advanced with the technology these days guess that was expected I found it a bit hard to play but got there in the end worms not going to deafet me lol

My son really likes this game and it can be enjoyed by the whole family. For the price i think this game is well worth it, i haven't had the change to play on it much and give a more in depth review but my son assures me it 'cool'

This is a good game combo. Worms: Battlegrounds is more of a single player, but Worms: W.M.D is very fun and can have multiple players on one console. It came well packaged and quickly. I definitely recommend this product.
