I have always found even expensive scented candles rather disappointing. They smell nice when you sniff them in the shop, but get them home and light them and the scent is often so subtle you don't notice it. Then they smoke horribly when you blow them out and you finally get a nasty acrid smell of smoke out of them!I am also a sucker for open fires but I live in a tiny modern flat with electric heaters, and I do miss even the glow of a gas fire, let alone a real one!So this intrigued me. I'd never heard of a wooden wick before, or one which created a tiny mini-fire instead of just a small flame, and I loved the idea of a sound of crackling wood! It also said it burnt clean.It's a beautiful product.Thick glass, lovely thick wooden top with a monogram on top - it looks and feels well made and expensive (as it shoud of course given the price).The wooden wick works beautifully - you get a lovely long dancing frame and yes a nice crackling sound - it's subtle of course, but in a small darkened room which is quiet you can hear it and it creates a lovely effect. I have uploaded a video of it and you should be able to hear the crackling I think if you listen carefully and maybe turn your volume up!When I blew it out it went out easily and near-instantly with zero smoking and no nasty smell or fumes - perfect! Easier to blow out that a normal candle with a tiny flame.The scent filled a medium-sized room very well - it's the only scented candle I have known which really does engulf the room in scent - it was almost too strong - so ensure you're not expecting just a subtle background scent - and it does linger long after the blow it out.My main disappointment was the particular scent I tried - At The Beach. Obviously smell is down to personal taste, but the description was misleading. I could detect no coconut or citrus as claimed - it was a really strong, cloying floral/spicy scent which I hated. So make sure you don't rely on the description as I don't think you can trust them to be accurate. Make sure you find one in a shop and sniff first!Otherwise this meets all the claims made. It is expensive but it will last for ages and you can see it's a quality product. It blows out easily, burns very clean, no smoking, lovely crackling sound and big jumping flame. The scent is strong and fills a room easily. It's certainly better than any Yankee or other expensive standard candle I have tried.

Firstly, this is a well-made and well-packaged candle. It arrived in a large box with inserts that held it firmly in place in the middle of the box, plus the outer packaging. The candle is in a super heavyweight glass leaf-shaped container that asks to be reused for something else once the candle is used up. The glass has a tightly fitting lid, with the instructions on the inside: the lid itself can act as a heat-proof stand for the candle.When I opened the lid, the fragrance hit me - overly citrussy/beachy - a little like cleaning sprays (sorry!), I couldn't smell any coconut at all. Following the instructions on how to light, I didn't have any problems getting it lit (I used a long match just in case).Once lit, the smell is slightly more mellow although there is a lot of it which might overpower in a small room. However, I still couldn't smell the coconut.The crackle noise from the flame is subtle but fun, and the long flame makes for a more interesting flame than candles with multiple wicks. It burned nice and cleanly. I have only used it once so far, but having let it burn for a few hours which is recommended, I hope it'll work just as well on subsequent lightings.

This candle is beautifully presented, makes a cute crackling sound and smells amazing.Shame the flame is really small. It sort of gets bigger after a couple of hours burning. Also, the whole bowl ends up full of hot liquid wax and you have to be careful not to spill it for some time after putting it out.

I love love love woodwick candles! I brought this for a friend for her birthday and she’s really impressed with it! Got it for a great price too! I’ve bought ‘crackling’ candles before but none come close to woodwick, they sound like a real fire! Very comforting!

Smells lush, looks great and sounds like a real crackling fire.Doesn't last that long feel like other cheaper candles I've had have lasted alot longer than this one and the surrounding areas are all covered in soot.

I love this smell and the crackling is really noticeable. Sometimes I thought it was hammering rain outside, but no - it's just the the crackling wick! Always get compliments from visitors when we have this lit.

Amazing scent but unfortunately after few times the candle change to very unattractive grey colour. Yet does not effect the scent so u can enjoy the smell but just not the look. For that reason few stars down

Smells amazing and the crackling effect is so relaxing. Only issue is because the wick is so big it doesn't last terribly long and the wax goes a bit of a muggy colour after burning for a while.

This candle is amazing, it looks, smells and sounds Devine. Well done to the creators of this product I have never been so mesmerised by a candle, I love it and will certainly be buying more.

Very nice candle, however it doesn't crackle as much as smaller ones, but I think it is due to different woodwick design. However smells very nice and very strong so will last us forever ?

These are the best scented candles. The crackling noise adds to the effect and the smells are never cloying which is so often the case with poorer products

STUNNING. Much more than just a candle, heavily scented which fills a tall room. The burning sound acts as a relaxation aid, very therapeutic. 10/10.

Brought this for my man as it’s his birthday soon, smells amazing. HUGE candle definitely value for money. You pay for what you get these days ??

Had one of these previously and re-ordered as it is very good, gives the room a nice feel, smells great and the crackling gives that cosy touch
