I wasn’t familiar with this brand before but was excited to give it a go. I’m pretty obsessed with candles but half the time don’t end up lighting them so it was nice to review one to force me into lighting it!So first impressions were mixed, I received the medium in vanilla bean which I was expecting to be a bit taller for the price and from the picture. It does look high end though, it has a wooden lid stamped with the branding in silver foil. As soon as you take the lid off you’re hit with a strong scent which does smell exactly like vanilla bean. My husband even asked me not to light it with him in the room because even unlit it was a really strong smell.The crackle while it burns is really cool,I’ve included a video of it burning so you can hear for yourself the crackling effect. The smell did instantly fill the room once lit and it was quite strong. The back of the lid says for best burn results burn the candle for 3-4 hours per use, well for me that would be way too much, I blew it out after about an hour, maybe less, as it was becoming a bit too overpowering.So far I’ve found it easy to maintain the wick, it says to trim to 1/8” before each use - I have no idea how much that is so I just break off the tips with my fingers (the wick is a x shape) and that has worked well so far.Overall I’m pleased with it, I’m not sure I would want to spend this much on a candle for myself but think it would make a lovely gift for a friend or to put on your Christmas list!

Woodwick Large Hourglass Trilogy Scented Candle | Café Sweets I am so impressed with this candle, the smell is absolutely amazing and is nice and strong filling the whole room I can't quite describe the smell but it reminds me of sweet caramel.This arrived really well packaged in a box with bubble wrap around it which I was pleased about as I was worried it would arrive broken.The style of the jar looks really nice, the one thing other than the smell that I love is the crackling sound when the house is nice and peaceful you can just hear it crackling away it is so relaxing.We have lit this candle a few times now and it has barely gone down so I can easily see it lasting the 130hours.Overall Iam really pleased with this candle and would definitely recommend.Woodwick ellipse spiced blackberry this is another amazing smelling candle that fills the whole house my kids can even smell it upstairs, the wick is long and also makes a lovely crackling sound, the only problem was when we first lit this the wax started to put the flame out so we had to tip the burnt wax around so it was not around the wick so much, however once we had done this it was perfect.I would recommend this.

This is a nicely scented candle that comes with a special wick that creates the subtle sound effects of a crackling fire. The scent fills the room and definitely makes for a good impression as soon as you enter, but it is sufficiently strong that you can smell it whilst you remain in the room, unlike some where the scent attenuates over time.There are three different scent layers so you will get a differing sensation as the burn progresses, with the first being a lovely vanilla concoction that will surely tempt the tastebuds.For the best burning experience, it is suggested that you burn the candle for 3-4 hours per use as that will help to even out the melt and produce the longest use possible without leaving half of the wax stuck up the sides of the jar.The wick should also be trimmed to 1/8 inch before each use: removing burnt pieces with fingertips is the suggested method.This is a good candle that comes in a well designed box that cushions it for the delivery process. Note there is nothing on the box exterior to alert as to contents, so it will be great for gifting, whether to self or to others, including as a secret Santa or (large) stocking filler.

This large size candle deserve 5* for a number of reasons and a number of categories:1- Delivery and Packaging: I would say that the well-made packaging which consider every single safety rule to make sure the candle arrives clear of any damage, is the best I have among a large number of items I have ordered from online retailers recently. Box inside other boxes all packed in a fabulous way. 5*2- Scent: The Black Cherry scent in this candle comes with two things:Strong smellAnd lovely smell too so 5*3- Overall candle design and shape quality:I would happily give this 5*, the candle glass and the wooden lid is very clear, thick and looks made of a premium materials.What do you expect more from a candle.I hope I am lucky enough to be able to try other scents and shapes of this particular brand,There is only one important point that needs also to be tested and reviewed for any candle which is how long it lasts: I cannot wait for around 4-5 months to write about this point but seems from a very. couple of use it will last enough for me.I hope this review is helpful to amazon community and those looking to order similar items.

The WoodWick Medium Hourglass Scented Candle (With currant scent) is a high-quality scented candle that provides a cosy atmosphere to a room whenever it’s lit.The candle comes in a beautiful glass hourglass jar with a polished solid wood lid. The candle instantly gives off a very high-quality look.The candle’s burning time states around sixty hours. We can certainly confirm that it lasted incredibly long, with it being lit most evenings throughout the winter period. In fact, a few hours of burning the candle in the evening hardly seemed to use any up each time.The “crackle” noise that occurs during burning is very comforting and atmospheric. It instantly creates an ambience to any room and really is a lovely touch.That said, my wife does think it’s a tad on the loud side, especially when we’re trying to watch the tv.The scent the candle gives off whilst burning isn’t too strong, but does gradually fill a room and just adds to that ambience it’s there to create.All in all we absolutely love the candle. It instantly creates a warmly, cosy atmosphere that just makes it great to be relaxing at home.

From the moment you open the outer box, the scent wafts out, it’s lovely. You know straightaway that this is a quality candle. The packaging itself is very good, like old fashioned egg box cardboard, there’s no way the candle can roll around or get damaged. Once unpacked, this is a beautifully designed holder, with a very classy wooden lid, which actually doubles up as a coaster for you to stand the candle on when in use.Now to the really fun part, lighting it. The wick isn’t like a normal one, not just a single thread as it were. The wick in these candles is kind of hard and is a cross shape. Once alight, the candle releases the beautiful fragrance....and the wick then starts to crackle.It’s not a spitting, fire hazard kind of crackle, just a lovely noise that reminds you of open fires.I didn’t realise that this brand is actually produced by Yankee Candles, but once you experience the quality, it makes sense! The black cherry scent that I received is just lovely, and fills the room with such a perfect aroma. Also, they will last such a long time, the candle hardly reduces on use.

This is an absolutely stunning candle! Right out of the box you can just feel you're holding something special. The quality wooden lid gives it an attractive look and when opened releases a wall of gorgeous spiced blackberry scent.The candle itself is the large round version with the long horizontal wick. I'd never seen anything like that before and was intrigued to see how it burns and it produces a visually amazing horizonal flame which also makes crackling sounds like a wood fire burning. This is so relaxing to listen to and enjoy whilst working from home in the evenings, I have this burning,it fills the whole downstairs of my house with the beautiful scent of cinnamon and berries and just to have the crackling sound is really enjoying as it is subtle but comforting!I'd never tried a Woodwick candle before but this is proving to already be the longest lasting candle I've ever used. Each time you burn you need to break off the burnt parts on the wick to maintain the full effectiveness and with proper maintenance should be able to be enjoyed for a long time. Highly Recommended!

I do love a scented candle and have bought many over the years. This is my 3rd Woodwick candle and they are definitely my favourites. I have previously tried Frasier fir and rose, but this black cherry candle is my favourite. It smells gorgeous and fills the whole room with scent. I would mention that my living room is large and L-shaped and most candles do not manage to fill it with scent. These WoodWick candles are great for removing cooking smells and indeed are more effective than the extractor fan in my kitchen. If I have been cooking something smelly such as cabbage or cauliflower, I always light a candle. Yes, WoodWick candles are expensive but are worth the money. They last a long time.My only grumble is that WoodWick do not sell refills for the candles. This means that the heavy glass containers which the candles come in end up in the glass recycling bin. Although I suppose that this is environmentally friendly, It seems like such a waste. If I could buy refills it would mean that the glass containers could be re-used and I would certainly buy more candles.

We have built up a collection of these and vanilla bean is right up there. The candles come really well packaged and in purchasing about a dozen all have arrived secure, not saying they dont break of course, but confident its a rare thing.The glass bowl its really attractive and the glass is thick with the lid being nice and thick which also doubles up as a base to go under the Jar. I do recommend you do this as the glass does become hot and so will the bottom once the wick burns down.In terms of burning it makes an great crackling sound which sounds really relaxing and the strip burning across rather then a single wick does look cool. In terms of fragrance, vanilla bean smells really nice.A clean smell and thanks to a lot of wax and burning at once throws at a decent amount of fragrance. Can fill up a large room relatively easy. May become attuned to the smell after a few hours, but walk out and back in the room and it hits you! The fact it burns a large amount at once does result in the tradeoff of it short burn time however vs say jars with a single wick.

These candles are terrific for the most part. The wick gives an incredibly soft, soothing crackle when burning, and the flicker is more reminiscent of the way a flame dances in an open fire than it is of the stable, predictable flame of a regular candle. That's not to say that this is in any way dangerous - quite the opposite: the wick never seems to spit or spark at all. Although the fragrance is great, my only gripe is that its strength does diminish noticeably over time. Particularly with the larger pillar candles, this is very evident when you are approaching the end of the wax. I guess that this is probably to be expected, but if cost is not an issue and you really want the candle to deliver the maximum fragrance,it is probably better to buy two of the smaller WoodWick candles rather than one of the larger ones.The presentation of the candles is great - a lovely tall convex glass with a wooden cap for when the candle is not in use. The packaging is just plain brown cardboard, but it protects the candle(s) very well whilst in transit.

Large candle with a wooden lid. 130 hours of burn time with Woodwick’s distinctive ‘crackle’ as it burns wick. Smells nostalgically of confectioners from years gone by.-This is a large candle, aptly named ‘hourglass large’. Although this shape looks lovely, it is functionally ideal to create a wide pool of melted wax at the top that really throws out scent across the room.-How big is large? In this case, large does mean large. Here are the dimensions in cm: 10.2 x 10.2 x 17.8.-Waxy layers create three different scents as the candle burns down, yet they all fuse together beautifully without being sickly.-Interestingly, that famous ‘crackle’ as it burns effect,somehow entices you into the little known pastime of candle wick watching - the next best thing for those longing to watch a real burning fire on a winter’s evening with a glass of red.-The burn time is estimated at 130 hours or £0.02 an hour which I think is great value for the scent and the cracking effect.-Overall, great value and smells fantastic. A solid 5 out of 5.

Let me start by saying that I really like this candle! It’s large hourglass shape gives it a nice premium aesthetic and the 3 various Cafe Sweet layers certainly reinforce this. This aesthetic matched the wooden and cream aesthetics of my kitchen perfectly :). When burning, it gives off a really sweet and strong smell that I am fond of, but found a little too strong to my liking.As the Headline title suggests, the reason why this wasn’t a 5 star was because of the Flickering the candle has when burning, which didn’t provide a zen and peaceful experience I would’ve hoped for. For the price, I do wish this wasn’t the case, I understand that the Candle is supposed to Crackle and replicate the burning of firewood,however the flickering just isn’t for me. I’ve since been using this candle more like an incense to perfume the house this winter season rather than to relax and meditate with.Regardless, a high quality long lasting candle (supposedly up to 130hrs) By Woodwick that could make for a great Christmas/Birthday present.

This candle has a wonderful, fruity scent, perfect for the colder, more festive times of the year. The novelty feature of this particular candle is that the wick creates a 'crackling' sound - reminiscent of a fireplace - to add to the general warm and cosy feeling. The sound is soothing and the perfect background noise for if you're having a chat with friends, or cosying up on the sofa with a book, however it becomes more of a distraction if watching television or listening to music. The glass vase looks and feels good quality, and the wooden lid makes for a practical trivet to stand the candle on (and avoid damaging any table tops) - although the lid is quite loosely fitting,and care must be taken when picking up the candle in case it slips off. When lit, the fragrance of the candle is subtle (just smelling the unlit wax might cause you to think it'll be too sickly and strong) and it burns for a long time without using much of the wax, so it's quite good value for money.

This Woodwick candle is made by the Yankee Candle company and as such has all the company's trademark high standards. the outer jar of the candle is in the shape of an hourglass and looks superb and it comes with an equally stylish wooden lid.The candle crackles as it burns giving a lovelly rustic sound while giving off the most amazing smell of currents - from what I can tell its a mix of raspberries, cranberries and blackberries which is perfect for both autumn and winter. the candle also has a "fast fragrence" feature which fills the room very quickly compared to the normal yankee candle, without it being too overpowering. The notes on the candle say to burn for around 3 to 4 hours per use,and gives around 30 hours burning time in total.Overall, I was very impressed with this candle, the crackling sound and effect, the scent and the shape of the jar all make for a very stylsh candle that smells superb. I will be buying this again!

WoodWick are part of Yankee Candle but they are a different product.The smell of the candle is quite pleasant but I thought it smelt quite waxy compared to some candles I’ve had. So a weaker perfume than the Yankee candle.The distinctive feature of the WoodWick is its ‘Pluswick’ that is designed to create a crackling effect. It makes enough of a noise to be noticeable alongside TV noise and it is rather comforting. Somewhat similar to a crackling fire. It is unusual and I’ve not made my mind up yet wether this is something that I like (and therefore would buy again) or if I would go for a standard wick. I haven’t had any problems lighting the wick and it has burnt evenly.Follow the care instructions and it should be fine.I like the hourglass shape to this candle and the lid, which can be used as a coaster for the candle, is also an attractive addition.A candle fan would certainly enjoy this candle and its distinctive crackle.
