This is what I call a boomer! A great big scent with a great big throw that matches its strong, dark cherry red colour. This candle looks beautiful, too, when lit as the red becomes more luminous.The aroma is smooth, intense, fresh and very, very cherry. If you like the smell of cherries as I do, this is a great scent for you. Yankee has added just the right amount of almond to the mix to make it utterly delicious and very heady. No wonder it’s so popular with Yankee Candle lovers.Black Cherry is great for any room but in especially the living areas, I have found. This one likes big open spaces. It’s pretty loud for a bedroom and personally, I can’t imagine it in the smaller rooms but that’s just my preference.

I must admit up front that I love cherries. I grew up in Virginia where George Washington, contrary to rumor, did not chop down a cherry tree. I now live in Maine, and when cherries are in their limited season life is good. Besides loving the taste, I have a minor case of gout which cherries are an excellent source of relief. So, after reading the great reviews, I ordered one. It arrived quickly and I opened it with great anticipation. The scent immediately cured my gout (not really). It was as if I were surrounded by ripe cherries. Every cherry I ever ate flashed before my eyes. I wanted to dig in and eat the whole jar. That's when I returned to reality. It is amazing that a candle can do so much in such a little time.

I purchased 4 candles on-line; so of course, I wasn't able to get a sniff ahead of time. This one was chosen for my bathroom because I found that it doesn't have that overall cloying smell to it. It's soft, simple and I pre-light it before my shower. It's soothing scent gets my day off to a good start! And we all know that it's a big thing to find something to get us moving into a good day. Yes, as simple as a lovely candle and available both on-line and a Yankee Candle shop. But, beware! I never heard of a "wick trimmer" before but now, I don't know what the heck I would do without one! I would also encourage you to check out "candle toppers." They're just plain beautiful!

This scent filled the entire downstairs of my house and lingered up the staircase to flow into my living room.I bought too many and got a little burnt out on the smell, because after a while it didn't smell fresh and fruity to me, it smelled sickly sweet and artificial cough syrup like to me.It did not go to waste as my roommate snagged it off the coffee table and put it in his room. He really enjoys it now. I enjoyed the first few I bought but sometimes you just have to rotate scents. :)The throw is wonderful and it does have a nice smell, just remember to rotate!

I bought this because my hubby and I love this scent so much in the melt cup and the tart. On cold sniff, this is strong and delicious. Within 30 minutes of lighting, a nice pool of wax had formed and this wonderful, pure black cherry scent had spread throughout my kitchen (27 x 15). Within an hour, it had spread to adjoining rooms! This reminds me of the smell of the black cherry ice cream that my hubby loves, and the black cherry soda that we both love! Perfect for anytime of the year! If you love fruit scents, especially black cherry, then you will love this!

Black Cherry Magic,I love this candle.I know when I buy this Magical scent my house smells like the ripest cherry tree growing right in my living room! The opening of the lid,the first smell ,the first lite is strong ,sweet and it has the strongest throw hands down to any Yankee I've ever burned .Thats why I call it Black Cherry Magic,The sweet smell of almonds,tartness of the cherry and there's a hint of musk but not a musk that you would say no to.all 3 flavor a make this candle worthy of its name .Love it!

I buy one for her and she'll buy one for me. Ha! I truly love the scent and strong throw of this delicious candle. It smells just like dark, ripe cherries, only better. A deep lingering scent that surrounds me and my entire home in blissful contentment. If you've not tried it, please do so. You will be delighted. I highly recommend it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am by far a Yankee Candle Loyalist. That being said, I have many favorites however my love affair started with Black Cherry. Although I have many fragrances I love for different reasons, occasions, and seasons. Black Cherry is my all time favorite. The fresh berry scent makes my home smell delightful and I love lighting this candle on a rainy, gloomy day to make it a feel bright by filling my room with this intoxicating scent.

I have purchased many candles as I love them, but I always go back to this one. I love this candle because I can actullay smell it. Sometimes I burn candles and I can't smell them at all unless I step out of the room and come back in. With the Black Cherry I can smell the scent while I'm in the room and it's so relaxing and yummy!!! It makes me happy. I would highly recommend this scent if you would like to smell your candle and scent your home quickly for entertaining guest.

My husband and I usually have a yankee candle scent battle over which scents to burn when he's around and which ones to burn when he's NOT around (because some he loves, and some not so much) but this scent is actually one that he LOVES and even requests to be burned! It's not surprising though because this smells phenomenal and has an excellent throw. Who needs to go to the farmers market when you can get the delicious heavenly scent of ripe sweet cherries in a jar candle!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the smell of cherries and this black cherry candle is my new favorite by far! The scent is rich and doesn't fade. I smells like a fresh cherry pie in my house. The scent carries far and is unique. It's smells like cherries with a sweet dark fruity undertone of blueberries. Might just my sense of smell but it's fabulous. It is very succulentely sweet. If you love fruity then I recommend adding it to your collection.

I purchased this candle because my husband loves black cherry and this candle did not disappoint! The throw on the candle is pretty good, I have an open concept living room/kitchen area and it is hard to get a candle that smells strong enough to do the job! I also bought the wax tarts and I have mixed them with the buttercream and it smells wonderful! I would recommend this candle to anyone looking for a strong throwing candle, and the sweet yet tart smell of this candle!

I can’t even begin to explain how much I love this candle. It is a very nostalgic smell as it was in my house as a kid. Warm cozy scents of delicious tart and sweet cherry. Great for all times of the year. In my opinion the perfect scent and candle. Very very good throw and long lasting after it is put out. Just opening the jar will give a huge scent, but not in a over bearing headachy way. It will beg for you to light it. Don’t buy this so I will have more for myself!

If you love fruity smells then you are going to love this candle. I highly recommend it to anyone.As a huge fan of "Cherries on snow" this fragrance is an excellent substitute, as it is year round as opposed to a Annual scent! Cherries on snow is a bit quieter and sweeter. Black cherry is more pungent and tart. I just wish it had a stronger throw. The throw is average. Not too subtle, but not strong either. It is certainly one of my favorites now.

The Black Cherry scent is very sweet and mellow. I love the smell that lingers from this scent. Also, this candle has lasted longer than I had expected. I have burned my candle many of times. Also, the nice jar that it comes in doubles as a decorations on my desk. I love my Yankee candle.
