For some odd reason Amazon KEEP ASKING ME TO REVIEW THIS ITEM. I REVIEWED IT AGES AGO!The price decreased to £7.93 so I decided to buy one.I already own the original black/silver version that was released in the mid 1990s - and that still works!I decided to buy another just in case my original finally conks out.Pros:3 setting grades of trimmerFree blade cartridgeBlade cover1 Energiser AAA size batteryHolder for razor that can stick to surfaces with its suckers.Essentially the same items I got way back in the 1990s with the original version.Apparently useable in the shower when the battery is switched to 'ON'though I've never done this.Changes compared to the original model:No longer silvered plastic parts - now all black (rubberized and sold shiny parts)Battery compartment on current version does not have the inner metal sleeve that the battery goes into unlike the original.Locking the two halves on the new version is not the same as in the original version. Thus old and new body halves are sadly incompatible just in case you were considering swooping parts over. The trimmer guard, blade trimmer, blade cartridges are all compatible with the original black / silver MK1 version. The only other difference is the more simplistic typeface on the handle with the brand logo - 'Wilkinson Sword' - it looks much nicer on the original. The blade cartridges are compatible with all Wilkinson Sword Quattro Precision handles.A very reasonable price, far cheaper than Gillette bladed shabing products and at a fraction of the price in comparison to Gillette's ridiculous over - inflated prices (and emasculated advertising).Wilkinson Sword cut extremely smoothly and comfortably.Hopefully this new version will last me as long as my original (still working!) model-which is over 20 or more years now.Highly recommended.

I bought this on a whim early this year, after deciding to maintain my own beard styling. I particularly liked that I could trim and shave in the same session, thus negating the need for a barber to keep my beard in shape. Shaping one's own beard can take a little getting used to, so if you're defining your own lines, be generous until you've mastered it. It's quicker to cut than it is to regrow - as I've learnt first handThe Razor:GOOD:-Close shave-Ergonomic - fits the hand, and easily tracks the shape of the face-The edging blade is useful for more precision styling or shaping (such as for a goatee)-Blades last agesBAD:-4 Blades = Lots of clogging!I have resorted to using an electric toothbrush to remove the debris-Price - Blades are expensive. The TrimmerGOOD-Small enough to see where you're trimming (good for goatee or chin strap styles, and moustaches)-4 length selection (grade 1, 2, 3)-Fair battery lifeBAD:-Not as accurate as a larger-bladed trimmer in longer settings. I often have to go over the same spot a couple of times-Not as efficient for full beards due to size of bladeI recommended the Titanium Precision to my housemate, and he loves it. He keeps his stubble slightly shorter than mine, so the trimmer is more effective. In conclusion, a generally good product, let down mostly by price of blades (as with any Gillette or Wilkinson Sword product).Recommended for: People with beards/moustaches who prefer to maintain thier own styleNot recommended for: Poor people, people who can't co-ordinate!

my razor histroy over the last 10 years has included all the latest offerings from Wilkinson Sword, Gillette, and King of Shaves (plus the odd disposable bic and beard trimmers)I have to say that for a day to day work-horse the quattro and the mach three ranges far out perform the 5 blade series razors, and at truly remarkable cost saving. The quattro range does, as Wilkinson Sword tends to edge it over the Gilette Mach 3.the reasons for this are that it cuts just as effectively as the 5 blade options without the need for a large clumsy head, that miss many odd-one-out hairs, it also boasts a trimmer blade for the fiddly bits, and the tough titaniam blades outlast and out cut the Gillette blades. There is a trade off for this - the blades remain at their peak for three shaves, so you'd need 2 cartridges a week for a perfect shave (cost £3 - 2x£1.50) this is less than half that of a fusion pro-glide that lasts the same period (cost £8 - 2x£4), but if you want a head that will cut for a full week, then the only cartridges that come close are Wilkinson Swords Hydro 3 and 5 blades (cost £2 - 1x£2)however i maintain that as long as you follow the golden rules of shaving:warm water washlavacut with the graincut across the grainrinse with cold wateraftershave productand you only use the blades 3 times, this is the best, least discomfort cartridge razor I have used

I did not order this as a beard trimmer, however it still works well for trimming other kinds of hair. (This is about the trimmer side, not the razor side.) It was able to handle very thick and somewhat long hair easily without getting jammed or clogged. One to two passes was enough for it to do the job, which is more than can be said for some other products which required me to go over multiple times. It's very easy to clean by running it under water and the hairs didn't seem to prevent it from doing its job.I do have some concern with the sharpness of the blades, though. A few times, the hairs snagged which was quite painful. I'm worried about how long this razor will last, especially considering that the blade will only get duller as time goes on. I'm also hesitant about using it in the shower. It seems to be water resistant but I'm concerned if it's truly waterproof. The razor side is fine. It works as a standard razor, to be honest, and is nothing special.

At the time I bought this I changed from a Gillette (perhaps fusion, I forget) to this. There were some teething pains (read: I cut myself) but once I was used to it, I really found no difference and I seemed to adjust to it just fine.I thought the electric trimmers were a good addition, but found the plastic grade on top of it quite useless. So I just used it without it for trimming some of the old stubble if it was too long, or I'd grown it out a bit, before wet shaving the rest away.I didn't stick with it though... honestly I'm on disposable razors at the moment and after similar teething pains, get pretty much the same shave as a gillette or wilkinson sword.I may change back in the future but I generally keep a short beard these days anyway, and just wet shave to prevent the dreaded neck beard from appearing.

This is great- I actually bought it instead of the women's one as it is identical apart from the colour being black not pink or purple and was half the price! The blades even fit from the women's version if like me you have some left over. The trimmer is useful- on the women's version it is plugged as a bikini trimmer and like I said it is an identical razor so....As a few other reviews have mentioned they don't last forever- I have actually purchased this as my old one broke- the battery compartment corroded so stopped working. To be honest if you are using it in the shower or even sink its near water and is obviously designed to be watertight but over time you should really expect some water to creep in.My previous one lasted about 18months so I was happy with that.

I brought this as I like gimmicky new things and found this to be a razor that needs no gimmicks. As a razor it works well and gives a very close shave.(personally I find it shaves closer than a fusion/mach3 but found it clogs quicker and is a bit harder to wash out than a fusion/mach3)However the trimmer is where it excels, It's well powered and easy to use even has an adjustable trim guard which can be removed. Can be used all over the body and I feel its much better (though smaller) than the Philips BodyGroom. Also as It's a razor and trimmer in one theres no embarrassing questions unlike the body groom to 'what one use's that for'.So cheap you can buy several and runs on a AAA battery (supplied)which lasts for ages.

I was using disposable razors for a while, just because the cost of these 'blade replaceable' type razors is ridiculous in most shops. Buying this razor (and pack of replacement blades) via Amazon certainly brings the cost way down. And.... this is the best performance I've had from ANY wet shave. I have pretty thick stubble and develop 'razor rash' quite easily, but hardly a spot of blood using this razor for 2 months now and super clean shaves. The little clipper at the other end is neat for keeping sideburns in check, though it's not anything like a full grooming kit. As long as I can keep ordering packs of blades for a decent price in future, I can't think why I would stop using this.Very nice!

This razor (IMHO) is far superior than the Gillette Power Fusion. The outcome is quite remarkable as the Wilkinson has only 4 blades as compared to the 5 in Gillette. However, Wilkinson has titanium coated theirs which makes the shave much smoother and irritation free. I quite enjoy the razor. Not to mention the handy trimmer on the stick's end, which also is very useful for sideburns and trimming other facial hair on the body. Well, it is also useful for trimming other areas in the body too! ;) The weight of the stick might be a bit more than normal but it comes with a handy suction holder for your bathroom tiles.Overall a definite 5 star ! Best Value for Money.

Having used Wilkinson Sword Quattro disposableblades for a couple of years now, I thought togive this product a try, particularly for thetrimmer at the base of the razor.Have used it several times all with a good result. It is ideal for the fine trimming of my side beardsand for trimming away hair that grows over the earbetween haircuts. This is a pretty good value for money product too.I find that I can use the shaving blade for aboutfive days before it needs changing. The trimmer takes a small AAA battery and thewhole thing comes complete with it's own restthat can be applied to the bathroom tiles withtwo suction pads.Recommended.

I use it all the time both in home and when travelling. I've probably bought about 6 over the last few years...the battery does wear out quite quickly so probably a good idea to use rechargeable rather than disposable ones. The trimmer is great and was very useful for Movember.Highly recommended and also at a fantastic price too! Unfortunately though (as I'm sure most will agree) the price of blades is shockingly expensive and the price seems to be rising all the time....makes one wonder what sort of margins the blade manufacturers are getting (probably very high ones!) Still though - 5-stars is warranted for this product !

This is ideal for blokes like me who need to trim moustache, beard and sideboards, and also shave the neck when on holiday/travelling/camping. It's extremely well made, the rubbery grip feels good in your hand, it's compact and relatively light (obviously not as light as a disposable wet razor). The razor gave me a smoother shave compared with my much heavier & bulkier electric shaver. By the way it's a WET razor and an ELECTRIC trimmer, so why the first reviewer operated the trimmer while shaving beats me!

I used use Gillette Fusion but later moved to Wilkinson. Why?BecauseThey shaves excellent as same like Fusion.Cheaper price for bladesSmall trimmer at the end on my razor make my life whole easier to keep my hair sides in shape.4 blades are more than enough for thick beard.Blades last longer than Fusion blades. Will I move to Gillette? may be not. Can't be bothered to try something expensive and new as I am more than happy with this product.

14.7.2019

This is a good razor. Bought to replace a gillette, for good. Definitely a nicer feel in the hand and comes with a nice, handy stand too, that can be attached to mirrors and what not via the suction pads. The trimmer however is a little bit of a let down. Press and hold power button for it to power on its own.. But razor is good. Good flex, sharp and comes with a safety head. I would recommend to anyone that wants a 2 in 1. Ideal for travelling.

29.4.2014

I used the older model for many years until the handle started to perish and feel sticky. I much preferred the older model, the handle on this one is too thick and feels clumsy. I had not noticed that the razor came with a beard trimmer, which I will not use.(My fault of course). Because of the thick handle and clumsy feel, I am only awarding four stars. The shave itself of course is fully up to standard.
