I was looking for a grater that could be used for cooking (grating cheese carrots etc) with small children 3-years old+ and this fits the bill perfectly..it is sturdy and well-made and the suction base actually works and the metal grater does not seem at all prone to rusting - I expect this to last for years. Very small children do still need some assistance to turn the handle but this is to be expected when grating hard vegetables such as carrots and they still get a sense of achievement. Very happy with my purchase. Expensive but money well spent if you want a good quality item. The only down-side is the inner drum (grater) is attached to the handle so a little difficult to dismantle for cleaning but I find it helps if you use a tea towel to 'grip'

This is an excellent piece of kitchen equipment. Grating large amounts of cheese is quick and simple. The only tip I would offer is to make sure the surface you suction it onto is completely dry, otherwise it will slip around and be difficult to use.

A considerable number of years ago I had something similar called a 'Spong' which wore out through lots of use. Have been looking for a replacement for some years before I came across this. Works well, I am very pleased with it.

Initially doesn't stick well to desk as holding mechanism doesn't go over reversal point. Small mod fix it and I am very happy with this product.
