I'm new to Xbox 360 controllers but I knew there was no way I was going to rely on batteries for them. This was more or less the first thing I managed to search for in Amazon. I won't be able to compare it to, say, official Xbox hardware. That said, this item is more than fit-for-purpose.The item fits into your controller exactly how they all fit in; contacts on the bottom, eject-button on top.So you want to know about the battery life; I'm afraid I don't have to many specifics but I do know that I got a decent amount of hours of gaming when I used the pack straight out of the box - A fully charged one lasted me a while,I'll say anyone used to ps3 controllers wouldn't recognise the difference of charge-to-playtime ratio. The good thing about this is that it's a twin pack - I only have one controller so I have one on charge all the time (bad for the environment, yes I know) whilst playing with the one plugged in. There is a green flashing light when the battery is charging with the cable, I believe it changes to the steady green light once its fully charged - It's REALLY bright - make sure to turn it over when charging over-night.The wire is about an arm-span length - with a split (for the two controller-packs) about half-way down. I keep mine tied-up for neatness. The connector to the battery pack is a 90-degree jack which means if you want to charge a pack whilst its in the controller, you can rest it flat, facing up. I think this was a nice thought from the developers of this as they could've easily just included a crappy, standard one that would endanger the wires or the connectors. So after a month of usage - I'm more than happy about it. Frankly I'm more annoyed Xbox controller don't come with one of these as standard. Who uses batteries any more?!I digress - Five stars and worth it. Good value for money considering without, you'd have to buy batteries for the rest of your life to keep gaming.

Charging mechanism is different, but the batteries charge reliably via USB and last considerably longer than both generations of the official batteries. So far, I've not encountered charging memory related issues that have plagued other 3rd party products (4,800mAh Ni MH from China) and Microsoft's own rechargeable battery pack line. I'm using these across various generations of the Xbox 360 controller (Original white, Elite Black, Fable 3 special edition and Silver Transforming) on both PC and Xbox 360. Unlike Microsoft's batteries, these are of a consistent size and will fit all Xbox 360 wireless control pads without cracking the housing on the control pad on the painted transforming d-pad controllers. They use a very strong spring loaded clip which even stays secure on the Fable 3 controller (which has an every so slightly larger battery compartment mould compared to other controllers). My only complaint is that the double-micro USB cable supplied will not efficiently charge both batteries from a standard single 500mA USB port (e.g. standard PC USB 2.0, Xbox 360's USB ports). I would recommend charging the batteries independently via separate cables or using a higher rated USB port to charge (e.g. 1a mains USB charger).I'll be investing in the charging docking station next from Venom.

I bought these because my Official Xbox one's were old and didn't hold a charge very well anymore. I shopped around a bit on Amazon and saw these which were £5 cheeper for two than it was for one Official Xbox one, bargain.Received them, plugged them in to charge and a couple hours later tried them. They work fine. They are different however from the Official Xbox one's. Firstly these have an LED light that flashes to say that they are charging and then goes solid when they are fully charged, pretty handy. Secondly these do not charge using the same wire as the ones from the Official Xbox one's, these packs use mini USB cables plugged in to the back of the battery pack,at first i thought that this might be annoying and get in the way of where I hold the controller but surprisingly they do not. They don't last very long however and I fin myself changing the pack and charging every 2-3 days, thats not a problem but it does mean that the battery inside the pack will cycle more often and deplete faster but for the price I can not fault them, I'll just buy a new one when mine deplete.Overall very good battery packs, they feel lightweight, comfortable and work very well.

I needed some rechargable bats for my wireless 360 controller i use for rocket league, dark souls, and monster hunter. The bats come with no instructions, just a card saying to go to the website for instructions - the provided pdf states that the bats have a single led which indicates when you're charging (flashing light) and when they're fully charged (solid light), but after charging both bats, one for 6 hours and the other for 4, the light doesnt change at all which is frustrating as the bats are the older NiCd type which are prone to charge cycle failure and premature cell failure. They look nice, the provided plug to charge them with works as a plug and play charger for both batteries, yet the instructions state the bat pack must be connected to a controller in order for them to charge correctly; I use to have loads of RC cars as a child with NiCd bat tech so I know that much to be the only statement i agreed with on their instruction sheet. For £10 with charging cable I can't say anything bad about them as I've only had mine for 12 hours however I am satisfied with my purchase and would recommend these to anyone.

They don't last very long on a full charge at all - maybe 12 hours or so of a game like FIFA with little vibration - but I think this is permissible because they're so easy to charge.Contrary to what the packaging says (I believe it says you can only charge these from the USB port on the Xbox) you can absolutely charge these from any USB port - this makes the pack especially useful if you game near an iPhone charger etc. and also the choice of a generic port style (USB Mini-B, popular choice for cameras) means replacement leads are very easy to come by, although the bundled one is really good for charging both packs at once. The only major downside (apart from the short battery life)is that the green charging light on the back is unnecessarily bright and a tad distracting.Ultimately, the usefulness of this pack is heavily dependent on how close you are to a USB port when you're gaming - if you're close enough for the cable, they're great. If not, these aren't for you.

I didn’t know what to expect really, we dusted off our old Xbox 360, at this time when we have to stay in our homes! But we were using up normal batteries at an incredible rate, normal batteries would only last one hour max, I couldn’t believe it! So I thought I would have a look on amazon for a rechargeable battery for our controllers and came across this, it’s really good, it takes a couple of hours to charge and lasts ages (not sure how long) but at least 12 hours possibly longer. The lead is the best bit as you can charge both controllers with just the one lead and it is long enough for you to still play the game with two players with it being plugged in! Well worth the money I have spent on it,and saved me money in the long run as I was going through so many packs of batteries!!

You get two battery packs and a USB charger cable which will hook into the front of your Xbox 360 They work exactly as you'd expect them to and will save you a lot on ordinary batteries. When you charge them, there's a (VERY bright) green LED that flashes, and will stop flashing and become continuously lit once it's charged, so you don't need to worry about how long you've had them on for.I bought these as a replacement for the old Venom ones, which didn't have the flashing LED on, so they fixed the one gripe I had with the old ones which was that I didn't know how long to charge them for, or when they'd done charging. The initial (still relatively small) outlay is definitely worth it for the amount that batteries cost nowadays,go for it!

Well, from some reports, these batteries can be variablein quality and whether or not they switch off when charged. You can charge them from the residual USB power withthe consol on stand-by as well as switched on and playing.I can't comment about longevity but, out of the box, mine workfine. They are a great fit - staying in when dropped - and thecolour is slightly greyer but a good enough match to the controller. They state only 700mAh and take 4 hours to charge if bothconnected at the same time. The green indicator comes onbut, after six hours, they had not gone off - so presumablymy units do not disable once charged. That said, they didnot get hot and appear to hold their charge suitably so far.pleased enough for the price

These battery packs are quite good. Overall charge capacity is quite low and will probably only last a hardcore gamer around two days worth of use. However since there are 2 of them you can always have one on charge whilst using the other, so as soon as the one you are using runs out of power, you can switch it with the one that's been on charge and then place the dead one you've just been using on charge. this way you've always got a battery pack ready to use. The cable supplied is quite short so it might be difficult to play whilst the wire's plugged into the controller you're using. Overall a good value product worthy of purchase for any serious gamer.

I've only used it for one game so far, and according to Steam, I clocked 64 hours on it.64 hours, on 3 or 4 charges. I can't remember if it's 3 or 4 charges, but it's definitely either or.Even if it is 4 times, it's still a whooping 16 hours per charge. For under £10, it's definitely a steal, especially since it comes in a pair, which is great for fussy pricks (i.e. me) who doesn't like to play with cables attached. It lets you rotate between batteries when one's dead, so you can just charge the other one when you're not playing. Also, the charge time is only a couple of hours.Excellent buy, definitely recommended for all Xbox controllers!

Ignore all previous negative comments about these rechargeable batteries because they work just fine, I only have minor problems of you have to be careful when charging as the battery can fall out if you pull the cord; and also if the battery has fully died then you will need to charge it for a while before you can start using the controller otherwise it keeps switching itself off. What is really good about these rechargeable batteries is that they recharge once plugged into the xbox even if the xbox is not on. So as long as the xbox has a power source then you can reacharge the batteries, this makes for recharging overnight with no worries.

Not sure why people are rating these 1 star. Do they not know how to use them correctly?I brought this very charge kit 2 years ago and they've seen me fine up until now. I'm only now, after 2 years having to buy more as mine are still working but slowly dying and only getting about 1.5 hours of life out of the batteries at this stage on a full charge.Yet before I was able to charge only once a week. For me 2 years of battery life for this price is excellent value.Good product and in the long term, probably better value then the official Microsoft equivalent which only lasted me about 14 months yet cos 3 times as much.

I was a little worried at first upon buying these, as I followed the instructions and charged them while in my controllers (switched off) and they still weren't charged after a full 2 days of charging. I prepared to write them off as non-functional but tried one last time to charge them without the controllers attached. I haven't had to charge them since, even after playing through a full run of button mashing, controller throwing Castle Crashers. Though the instructions let me down and the product seems a little intermittent in it's functionality I can recommend these as they are great value for money.

Xbox controllers seem to suck the life out of conventional batteries faster than small child with a straw and a fizzy drink so buying this product was somewhat inevitable. I have been pleasantly surprised with this purchase; the batteries hold their charge for a reasonable amount of time and having two connections on a single cable means both controllers can share a single USB slot on my plug. The angle of the connector into the battery pack means the controllers sit well on the edge while charging. I'm debating whether I need another set and two more controllers for 4 player games... quite possibly!

28.12.2010

Great value for money. Why pay for expensive official batteries when you can buy these. They fit perfectly in the controllers and just plug the wires back into the batteries. The good thing with these are that you can charge two remotes on one usb port, which is great if your short on usbs. Takes 3.5 hours to charge one controller, or 4 hours for both. They also include lights on the back so you know they are connected correctly and turn green when charging. There are black and white versions available to match your controller and have a cool Venom logo on the back which doesn't make it look cheap.
