(NOTE: This review is about the smaller 25L model, and some of the blurbs I've read say that the torso length is adjustable on this pack--it isn't! The torso-length adjustment feature is only available on the larger models which are also visible on this page.)Ohhh, maaaaan, I LOOOVE this baaaaagI requested this bag because I really like Thule and I wanted a medium-sized bag for hiking, but when I ordered it, I didn't see that it was labeled "Men's." I panicked a little when I got it because I was sure it wouldn't work for me, I was sad, and I didn't know how I would be able to review it fairly since it was expressly not designed for me. Men's bags just don't work on me. But I took it out to get a better look, and it was love. This bag is amazing! The red is a magma red, scarlet, orangey color ("rorange," lol). It's bright and alive. From the pictures, I thought the bag would look a little boring since it's mostly black, but it's gorgeous. The red accents are in all the right places (which is actually somewhat functional because the red makes things like the daisy chain webbing more visible, so it's easier to tell where to attach things). The branding is printed in bold, minimal silver ink, and the effect is really nice. The pictures don't do the bag justice. I think it's so pretty. The bag fits me PERFECTLY. I don't know how or why, but I'm so happy. I have full hips, a full bust and womanly shoulders, so the straps on most bags angle up on the outside edge above my shoulder. The turns the straps have to take over my shoulder, around my chest and under my arm again are too sharp so the straps on most bags stand up on one side. It isn't comfortable, especially under a load. These straps are shaped to prevent that. It's awesome. They feel amazing. The sternum strap has about 8-9 inches of adjustability in height, so I was able to move it above my chest. The sternum strap has more than enough length (over 11") to be moved lower and still fit larger people. Also, it doesn't pull the shoulder straps out of alignment on me, which is a common problem on other bags. I wear size-20 jeans, so I sometimes can't wear backpack hip belts at all because they're too small, but this waist belt has at least 8 more inches of slack when I wear it just above my hip. (I can't measure the max lengths of the belts right now but I will later!) Even though all the straps are big enough to fit me, they're also adjustable to be much smaller for thinner people, and they have little elastic keepers that let you fold up the excess and tuck it in, so it won't flap all over as you move.(BTW, the bag has an embroidered fabric label on the outside that says MEN'SFIT, and it's sewn in pretty firmly all around. I don't mind, but a label like that might not work for everyone. It's white lettering on black, so you could get a black Sharpie and color in the white if you don't like it. I wouldn't want to risk trying to cut it out.)Anyway, aside from the beautiful looks and wonderful fit (seriously I'm so happy), the functional design of this bag is fantastic as well.* The "brain" of the bag has a zipper on the back edge that lets you store things in top, and inside there is a key lanyard* The zippers on this bag have large, bright red zipper pulls that you can see, feel and grab easily* Under the brain, there's a drawstring closure like you'd expect in this style of bag, except the fabric (and everything else) here is way nicer and quieter than that in the bags I've used before, and there are strong nylon loops to make the hardware easy to grab* The bag is hydration compatible with a nice bladder hanger, elastic-topped pocket, an opening for tubing, and elastic tube-keepers on the shoulder straps* There are two large, stretchy-mesh water-bottle pouches, one on each side* Above each bottle pouch, there is a V-shaped compression strap that can batten down your bag and/or brace the top of a tall item in the water-bottle pouch* Behind the buckle on the right compression strap, there's a velcro strap that can hold the top of a tool that you're hanging from the red accessory loop at the bottom right of the bag* There's an ~18" zipper on the right side that opens to let you access the contents of the bag without having to mess with the drawstring or rummage through everything from the top, so you can see what you're doing better and also avoid unpacking and repacking over and over and over* There's a large open pocket on the front of the bag that you can put frequently accessed items into, and it's big enough to hold a jacket. It is held shut only by the buckle that holds down the brain, so it's easy to access* There's maybe 18" of daisy chain on the front to hang accessories from, plus you can hang something below the main closure of the bag* There are nice, wide, breathable panels on the hip/waist belt. One has a decent-sized pocket and one doesn't have a pocket or attachment points at all* The straps are partially mesh with perforated foam inside to help let air through and evaporate sweat* There are two wide pads that extend from the top to bottom of the back of the bag, and there's a channel between to let air through. The pads are covered in a performance-type material* The bag is very lightweight, under 2 poundsI don't usually watch product videos, but Thule's are short and excellent without narration. After typing this all out, I realized that their video demonstration of this bag's features shows almost everything I explained here, lol. It is super frustrating that most bag manufacturers don't explain all of their bags' features, even at a $100, $200, $300+ price-point, so I am pleased to see Thule's comprehensive demos. Also, while you're at their site, you can download instruction sheets for choosing the right bag to fit your body, then adjusting your chosen bag to fit comfortably.I do wish that there were a way to stow or remove the hip belt, so I could take this bag to work sometimes without looking out of place, but that brings in other compromises so I get why they didn't go that route.Oh and if you want a rain cover, you'll have to use one from another bag or buy it separately. One of the pictures almost looks like it's showing a rain cover in one of the pockets, but it's a prop rain jacket being used for demo purposes. There is not a lot of organization in this bag, as you might expect. It has two main pockets, two water bottle pockets, a hydration compartment and the pocket in the brain/lid, without any smaller compartments or dividers inside. I've seen lots of daybags with pen and notepad slots, etc., so I thought I'd mention it. You'll have to add your own organization or hang things on the outside as needed (or not). But this bag is perfect as is for carrying a couple of layers, food, water, a small camera in a case, a map, first aid, dog treats, a dog bowl, etc. And it's beautiful!

Let's start with quality appraisal:All the fabrics seem quite durable. All the stitching is perfect.YKK zippers are known for being long lasting and snag freeAdjustable height chest strapSome nice touches like venting on the shoulder straps that goes through the padding.Overall the build quality feels very good. Comparable in quality to other high end branded backpacks like REI, Marmot, Kelty, etc.So let's talk about design:A 25L pack is too small to be a weekend pack for anyone but the most ultralight backpackers. That means this is a daypack. You can also tell that it isn't meant to carry heavy loads. There are not shoulder tension adjustment straps, the hip straps are very minimalist and don't come far enough forward, the framesheet is flexible and has no rigid components, the padding in the shoulders and back are minimal, the waist buckle is small, only one water bottle pocket is large enough to fit a 1L nalgene water bottle. But lack of features you would need for bigger heavier loads makes this pack lighter and take up less space when stored.Really the only feature I wish it had kept from larger packs is a better waist belt. This one doesn't go very far around the front and is super thin on the padding. So for a daypack this is really built like a peak bagging pack, something you can shove your layers and a lunch in and hike up a small mountain and back. Not a ton of pockets. Just a main space, a little sleeve to shove a hydration pouch, a pouch in the top flap (aka brain), a jacket stow pocket on the back, a cliff bar sized pouch on the hip belt, and two water bottle pockets on the sides. It has a side zip entry that seems like it would belong in a pack that was this design but bigger, the main pocket seems small enough to get at stuff with just the top entry.I personally like my day packs to be a little more versatile. A sleeve for a laptop when I'm running around in cities, a secondary main compartment with some built in zipper pouches to organize stuff, and a main compartment that opens up like a clamshell. But this pack may appeal to people that like a more streamlined design that will not have to remember where they put their stuff because stuff smaller than your fist goes in the top flap, your jacket is shoved in the outside, your water bottles are on the side, and everything else is in the main compartment. Lack of options is simplicity.

I've loved my experience with Thule, and this backpack is no exception. As a caveat, I typically use this as a daily carrier for books, electronics, and occasionally as a pack for short overnights.First, this pack is aesthetically pleasing. You can see it from the stock photos, but the red really pops and looks great on this design. It's a little of a departure from other Thule pack's I've owned that are typically black with grey accents. The hydration bladder sleeve (bladder / reservoir is not included with this) actually works great for smaller electronics. There's a center clip-strap on the inside that actually helps to secure my small chromebook in (I've had laptops and chromebooks slip out of other sleeves). When I've packed clothing and down coats in the bag for travel, the straps on the side really help to compress the bag as well. One of the key features of many of the Thule bags I've owned, including this, is a small clip in the top zip pocket to... wait for it... attach my key ring to. This is a really simple yet wonderful feature for my travels, but also for hiking. Easy access to secured keys is a must. The backpack is comfy for me, between the padded straps and the padded back. I'm a larger guy and this fits me fine.Altogether, there's really nothing for me to dislike on this. So far, the quality is great, but it's hard to judge the long-term quality of a thing without testing it out longer. Although, I will say, I've had to use Thule's warranty on other packs and they've been an outstanding company to work with.Buy it for yourself. Buy it as a gift. Either way, this is a huge win!

This is a nice backpack but it feels a little awkward concerning the fitment. It does seem to be good for hiking, etc, but I do not believe it is conducive to more common usage such as a trip somewhere (in a pinch only). The materials are nice and the stitching appears to be strong, smartly done and all the space appears to be utilized very well and efficiently. There are a lot of neat little features such as the rain cover, the straps, zippered entry near the bottom of the pack, etc. This is a quality backpack but it just does not fit me as I wished it would but that is not to say it won't be perfect for a lot of people.Something that is absolutely essential (in my very humble opinion)is the entry on the inside near the bottom of the pack. If you load it from the top, it is basically stacking everything on top of everything else so it would be an absolute pain if there was not a way to access the lower portion without having to pull all items out first. That was good foresight and design on their part. The straps are fairly comfortable but because of the way it fit me, I think it could be good for some smaller framed people.I am usually impressed with this type of backpack from this manufacturer and this is no different. It is very hard to make a one-size fits all type of anything so I believe it would be a good fit for most of the population. This is seriously lightweight, feels strong and seems to be more of an essential pack that is light on frills.

This is my second Thule backpack and I am struck by how differently designed the AllTrail is to my 28 liter Stir. Where the Stir has a velcro-detachable hip belt, the AllTrail's hip belt is permanently sewn to the pack. What impresses me most is the ingenious side zippers that make it possible to quickly access items that went into the pack first and are under layers of other stuff - no need to go in from the top and root around for what you seek.As expected from Thule, the craftsmanship, fit and finish are impeccable. At 73, I don't do any mountaineering but this is a perfect companion for hiking the rails-to-trails trail that runs behind my house.I also like the waterproof inner liner that can be cinched closed in the event of a downpour.I used it as a carry-on when flying from Indianapolis to Las Vegas and back. It fits nicely under an airplane seat.I've never used hiking poles, but the fact that this pack was designed to carry them has me thinking about adding them to my hiking equipment. But, truth be told, I got it because I fell in love with the ultra cool red-and-black color scheme.

This 25L pack is about the same size as a school book bag, but it is much more functional and comfortable to use for hiking on rough terrain. The compression and harness system is easy to adjust and holds the pack secure and close to my body so it doesn't wobble around and throw me off balance or snag on trees and rocks. There is no hydration bladder included, but there is an interior pocket where you can insert a separated purchased bladder and also a hole in the pack where you can thread the hydration tube out of the pack. If you've been hiking or mountain biking for a while, you probably have several bladders that you can use so there is no point in paying extra for a new one. This pack is a little heavy (almost 2 pounds), but not too bad for a pack with a nice suspension and harness system.

I own a half dozen or so Thule backpacks and camera bags, and all display a remarkable attention to detail. This is no exception. It's a simple bag, but it fits great, sits on my back just right, and it just feels right. Every strap is in the right place, every compartment is the right size, and every zipper is great. It looks stylish, yet unpretentious, and it somehow inspires confidence. I really like using this bag!In regards to features, it allows for adding any number of extras on the outside webbing (including hiking poles), has handy pockets for quick access (such as rain gear), and allows for water bladders. The fit is perfect, and the waste strap helps for long hikes.Highly recommended

The Good:-Great design-Easy access pockets-Lightweight-Breathable-Comfortable to carryThe Bad:-NoneThe Bottom Line:This might be my new favorite hiking backpack. It’s great for a day pack for carrying my wife and kids stuff since it’s large enough. The backpack is lightweight and is very comfortable to carry. It has a large opening for the main pocket but it’s got an ingenious zipper in the front that allows easy access to the contents in the main compartment. There are a quite a # of straps that you can tie stuff to the pack or just cinch up your load so it doesn’t feel floppy. Overall I would highly recommend this backpack.

This useful hiking pack really stands out in this color. Thick, water-resistant material covers lots of useful, deep pockets as well as a portal for hydration. This is a lightweight, comfortable pack that would be perfect for day outings. The design is also nicely executed for wicking away moisture wherever the straps touch your body. My only complaint (and it's a small one) is that I wish the waist straps could be cleanly rolled up or tucked away when they're not in use. With a smaller pack like this, I will probably rarely use the waist straps.

This is a "top loader" which is great for putting a lot of items into it. For going shopping to a few days on the trail. The easy side access zipper slots make this a great and easy pack to use. The lumbar support is decent enough. It is simple and easy to adjust. The hydration tube and drink port make this a superior model for the price. The slick black look with orange also looks very cool. Thule is cool! They are known for their top quality and this is another great product.

I love Thule products. They never let me down with a high quality build, and nice styling. This backpack is no exception. The Red trim on black is really styling. The pack is a good size for a day-long hike. It's really not made for overnight camping so don't expect to pack enough for that unless you pack realllly light. Overall the build is excellent. It is comfortable and adjusts well to just the right fit.
